If any ADs are using UN as a “sacrifice watch” in package deals to get a patek … they should stop because the UN gets dumped subsequently in the secondary market at a massive discount from the MSRP and kiss the brand image and demand.

What a great interview. I loved how refreshingly honest and down to earth the ceo was. I’m a big proponent of independent brands and just purchased my first UN watch, and this interview cements my belief in supporting the brand.

Tim, your analysis really was spot on! I own a JLC Extreme Lab 2, Freak X, and an Urwerk 103.03. I have purchased lots of traditional watches, but love these types of over-engineered models. I guess I am in the demographic!
I am very far from the ability to afford any UN. I do appreciate a brand that makes a STRONG effort to make their design language more accessible. I love that they haven't been polluted by the sub 40mm craze. Complications need to breathe, so to speak. Just watched a video of the upcoming Zenith chronograph full calendar moon phase at 38mm. It looks forced and cramped in my opinion and defeats the purpose of any logical design. Matthieu Haverlan, you and your team are doing amazing work. Mind blowing innovation and designs!
Superb interview. Tim is the David Frost of the watch world. For the first time in many years I've gone to look at the UN website. Perhaps we can have a UN Group watch in the future....how cool would that be!
I didn't want this to be a UN fan-fest or some kind of self serving vendor showcase. UN is coming out of a devastating period for its volume, market share, and resale value. All of that needs to be addressed if you're telling me about turnaround plans. Best, Tim

I love the Freak. I wish they made a less expensive model that had more DNA of the original (the FreakX is ok… but a no crown version please).
