My husband bought me a very similar wedding set. My stones were also falling out. They replaced, I think 2 the first time. A few days later, more fell out. I was told that it was because they sized the rings down. They also ordered a new ring, made in my size. The problem continued. The lady then said that it's because it's fine jewelry, not meant to be worn all of the time. It's my wedding ring! They refused to take it back. The Christmas after we got married, he bought me a sapphire with diamond chips around the stone. He bought it from JC Penny. Sixteen years ago & not a single stone has fallen out. I wear it all day, every day. The big jewelry stores are a rip off.
If it's the one the used to get married I understand wanting to keep it. My husband wanted to sell my first one and use the money to put with more to get a better one once we were more financially stable but I couldn't part with the tiny ring I'd had from the start- it held memories even though it looked like crap it was special so I kept it and waited longer to get a better one so I wouldn't have to turn it in.

I agree but the fiancé probably didn't know enough about jewellery to realise diamonds like that can fall out. An honest jeweller also gives you advice and guidance so they should have told her it wouldn't stand up to everyday wear. In which case she would have probably chosen something else.
@@shendisackettI always warned my clients if they needed to size a ring, however everyday wear is different for different people. Do they take it off to clean? Do they swim every day? She didn’t need them sized down, and she took them off at night and when cleaning. For her wearing a ring like the one in the case would have been fine.
It’s a design problem. Those little diamonds chips aren’t perfectly formed and won’t stay put. Better to buy the rock and have it mounted with 3 or 4 prongs.
Especially once you size it down. I always warned my customers against rings with a lot of diamond chips across the band if they had small fingers. My finger is a size 5.25 and while that ring is gorgeous, I would never buy it unless I had it made for me… and I certainly can’t afford that 🤣

Just want to point out because i see a lot of comments saying this, there's no longer diamond "chips" being used in modern jewelry. Technology has improved to be able to fully cut small stones. They are fully faceted just like a larger stone. I have been a bench jeweler for 20+ years. The actual issue with that style ring is that there isn't enough metal holding the stones to keep cost down. Most "large" well known jewelry stores source mountings from China. You get what you pay for
I’ve sold a LOT of diamond rings. Is the prongs are gold, they’re prone to bending and the stones can fall out. High end mounting have a gold band along with a platinum prong setting. Prongs can get caught on clothes, gloves etc and if they’re gold they can bend and you’ll lose that stone.
I've worn the same wedding ring for 27 years and I just lost one if my little diamonds a few months ago. This is not normal nor is it abuse. Their merchandise should be able to take daily wear since it is a wedding ring.
If the diamonds keep falling out it is because it is BAD workmanship. I had an engagement ring with many tiny diamonds and none fell out, even after wearing it EVERY day, for 20 years...

I am a sports medicine doctor and I wear my wedding ring 365 days a year. I bang my rings on everything and continually destroy them until our jeweler made a recommendation to get a very sick setting and prongs. So I do believe that you can abuse your rings and the diamonds fall out because it's happened to me on several occasions. Beautiful ring, but as someone that has been in the engagement ring business for just over two years, even I would know better than to recommend a ring with that many melee stones for daily wear for anyone; ESPECIALLY for a teacher. I always compare rings like that to a stiletto heel- beautiful but not practical long term. Always ask to look at the prongs when considering a ring; metal wears down with wear, so if there's barely any there to begin with... poof! Also I'm confused if they casted a new empty mounting and reset every single stone, or if they casted it with the original diamonds~ if they re-set every single one then of course they're all going to immediately fall out lol
The best setting for stones for people who are that active/abusive with their jewelry would be a bezel setting. It secures the ring with no prongs. Far more secure. And if it is a white gold ring, regardless of karatage, it is not as sturdy because gold is quite malleable. I am glad they were able to get a refund. The couple needs to look at different types of settings if she is that hard on her rings. I’m not a huge fan of rings with that many prongs.
The stones were too small to be mounted properly. Also, my jeweler told me anytime you size a ring up or down more than one size, you compromise the prongs and stones may fall out.
My granny dig through the garden, baked, went on about life for nearly 90 years and her diamond ring never lost a single stone... they had to cut it off her finger when she passed, but not a single stone lost...
The Plaintiff should convince his wife to get something more sturdy to begin with. Or perhaps like a lot of couples do, buy a gold band for the daytime and keep the diamond ring safely locked away at home for those special occasions. 😉💍💎💎
For the judge to actually wear the plaintiff wife's ring and continuously ogle it while it's sitting on her finger is definitely poor form, and is a bad indication that she can act as an objective party.

And if it is a white gold ring, regardless of karatage, it is not as sturdy because gold is quite malleable. I am glad they were able to get a refund. The couple needs to look at different types of settings if she is that hard on her rings. I’m not a huge fan of rings with that many prongs.
Funny how he turned bright red after he found out the ring will be returned. That’s a man in fear of going home to the wife ring-less. 😂
Now my engagement ring wasn't that fancy
That said I had it sized to 6 1/4 and had it for 11 yrs. Kids, worked in a grocery store, a call center.
Never once lost a diamond
My husband bought me my wedding ring from Jared's 13yr ago, in this 13yrs 2 little diamonds have fallen and they repair them right away. I am not careful at all with my ring and they have lasted that long, if it is done right the diamonds are not supposed to fall.
Diamonds shouldn’t fall out that easy. And she had several fall out.
Getting there money back was the right decision. And omg no way would you keep the ring. And get your money back. Crazy
So you wanted a FREE RING. Got it...smh😐😑😐
