    How can you customise an ecodisc like changing the voice to say custom messages or change indicator message for inspection control or change the indicator colour on the scrolling dot matrix indicator? Can you do that? My requests for floors (on ecodiscs)
    Indicator v. Voice message v
    Going up: -up arrow- "Going down"
    Going down: -down arrow- "Going up"
    Floor 1: ..)/; "Basement floor"
    Ground floor: 6743 "Level Unknown"
    2nd floor: LOL "Level 13"
    3rd floor: Same as normal
    4th floor: 73 "Level 240"
    5th floor: 5 "Level 5"
    Any higher floors you can choose yourself
    Nudge mode: "Oi! You're blocking the doors, go away!
    Inspection control message: "Ben and the team are here"
    Out of service message: "Evil Owl is here to modernise your lifts!"
    Fire service: "FIRE!!! FIRE!!! GET OUT!!! DONT USE ME USE THE STAIRS GET OUT NOW!!!!!!!"
    Priority control: "Someone has turned the lift out of service while they have a poo. Wait a while and come back.
    Messages for different services same on indicator and voice.

    Would you know where I can download the audio files for the lift voices? I'd presume they're somewhere around on the internet.

      In on part of the video the SW said "custom caracter", sure you can enter the map for a LED Matrix indicator (lets say a digit is a 5x8 matrix) as a series of binay masks that represent the grid. Thats it, you grab a blank grid representing the display, put a cross on the all the led you want to lit, then convert each row (or colum) to HEX and that is you custom digit. Is like making a leter or digit in mspaint pixel by pixel (led by led)

    Is the "unauthorized car top access" message built in? Or did you program it? If it is built in, under what circumstances would it usually play? Would it only be played on elevators with anti surfing devices?

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you mean did I program it. The logic has a load of messages and you can assign up to 3 messages for different events. You can't record messages. I have never heard the unauthorized car top access. Both the anti surf device and surf guard break safety so I don't think a message could be assigned to it.

      Is the "unauthorized car top access" message normally unused then as far as you know?

    Ive seen the skycom logo before on lester controls. So lester controls don't make the voice or controller themselves?

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Skycoms is made by International Lift Equipment. Which part said Skycom and which part said Lester

    • @pikakai
      @pikakai 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** No in some of your videos when you show motor rooms of modernised lifts usually the part that has the screen with settings on says Skycom, and normally these old lifts are modernised with lester controls? I'm just a bit confused. Or does skycom also have their own controller? (like thames valley controls)

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Skycom is a complete lift logic, it has nothing to do with Lester controls. There may be some Lester boards if the lift company used Lester for some stuff.

    • @pikakai
      @pikakai 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Beno Ah so a lift could be modernised with complete Skycom logic too? I assume its not much different from lester controls or thames valley controls though right?

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is another blind VF logic with no pre doors.

    Did you know... MILLIONS of devices run Java? Including the lifts you ride

    • @38911bytefree
      @38911bytefree 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This ones are a bit old, just have a look at the service SW, looks like NT/95. Probably a big array of lifts run java as user control front end and at dispatcher level, but (IMHO) in the low level this applications need true real time, fail safe HW and FW. That the reason because large systems tend to use some sort of PLC at the very end, so even when the main system crash, the end part knows how to stop things safely. Java is perfect, is all around the world, just I dont feel that is proper "HW end side" for a 7*24*365 machinery. I would safer better on a 90s designed controller or relay logic.

    • @Awesome_Aasim
      @Awesome_Aasim 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @38911bytefree
      @38911bytefree 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ups and Downs Of course it is. But baremetal C is not Java. Low level end of this apps more likely stand alone C (probably even no RTOS). The high level (like destination dispatcher) anything else being not critical for safety nor need to be hard real time. IMHO. The 90s controllers shown sure they are in ASM. The one with 128x64 dot matrix and chip card slot (TVC ?) is probably in C ... guessing. I dont feel that anything that controls the lift (motor and brake) could be something different than baremetal C ... but who knows
