the major problem with the belt, for me, was my escape 2005 belt configuration is the same as the 2007 yr. I believe the engine has been changed. Probably was done the same time the entire allwheel drive was replaced...what a trip this alternator replacement has been...
Funny thing is I came here to see if maybe it was the same setup as the 500 and it is pretty damn close if not the same. Was trying to figure out how to move the tensioner but now I know. I was loosening the bottom bolt instead because i didn’t know you could fit a socket wrench into those holes above the belt 🤷🏼😂 oops. Thanks bud
What size belt do I need I got like three different options at the auto shop how do I figure it out is there a model number on the car anywhere looked on Google but I can’t find the right answer
Great views! ... any suggestion for best place (accessory unit pulleys and idler pulleys) to start the re-routing of the new belt after the new tensioner and idler-pulleys are all replaced ? Given this is time-consuming and difficult for the average home/"shade-tree" mechanic? ... there is NO sense replacing just the belt without replacing all the components that "service" the belt itself?! ... unless you live where there is no salted roads, salt water, or heavy rain.
How about a Ford Freestyle 2005? That's what I have and there is so much crap in the way. I don't have a jack, and I think it's gonna have to go up on a lift. It shouldn't be this fucking hard to change a damn belt.
this is the only video that showed me how to replace and install the belt on my 2005 Escape
My dad was trying to use a crow bar to loosen the pulley and seeing that a 3/8 wrench fits, made it easy. Thanks
Boss man This video maybe be old but just help me a lot thanks
Nice video, finally a guy who knows what the hell he is doing and can hold the camera still with out it going all over the fucking place!

Put the belt on the water pump and then halfway on the cam pulley and crank the engine one turn and it should pull it on.
Put on bottom pulley zip tie to where it reach..then bump the key over ..bada boom bada bing
