The only illusions are the sense of "self," the sense of being someone and by extension consciousness, along with everything else unique to being humans. Everything that we most cherish about ourselves does not even exist because the self that we believe we are does not even really exist. The self is a mirage. Some, for no apparent reason, have had this illusory sense of self apparently fall away. Though it never was to begin with. The joke is on all of us, which is virtually every human, in believing that we have existence. That's only a downer story for the self that imagines it is real. It's just simply so that there is no one and nothing behind anything, including the appearance of this entire universe. It's all ever inscrutable and unkowable down to it's very corelessness and centerlessness. No down really, or up, or inner, or outer. Nothing really happening. And nothing that has ever happened, other than apparently so.
Thts not true.. REAL world is actually turning imagination into reality.. The limits of reality are stretching and engulfing imagination into it.. Imagination is turning into reality with all its limitless limits.....
The thought that consciousness is a curse and we are suffering from it, is also because of the consciousness. So our thoughts and experiences will always be a subset of the very consciousness and we'll never know what it's like not having it.
Beware the woop-woop bird. "What is the woop-woop bird?" I hear you ask. Well, you see, the woop-woop bird is a creature that flies around in ever diminishing circles until it disappears up its own backside. Logic can have the same consequence.
I thought I was the only one that felt like this. I believe that in our strive to control what we dont understand we turned our backs on mother nature. That pissed her off so conscience is our punishment. Self awareness is a brain disease brought on by us because we went against the only thing that's real and true witch is nature herself.
I would suggest spending more time in the subset that tells us consciousness is not of the material world, the one examined by the scientists and physicists in hopes of dissecting it and putting it into a mathematical equation, but they can’t seem to find consciousness let alone explain it or even define it. They cannot see past their material noses to see that which is not material, consciousness, but they use it to try to understand and explain it. Like a dog chasing it’s own tail. And it’s no coincidence that I compared science to dogs as dogs also lick their woo woo birds as one of the other replies mentioned and I’m sure they explained that story from their mastery of that endeavor. But from simple observation by a rational mind that isn’t chasing their own tail on an inward spin to woo woo land, it can be deduced that there are creators and creations. Creations do not look at themselves or their surroundings to inspire or appreciate their beauty but rather it is the creators who enjoy and very much appreciate what they have created. Much the same way we put our young children’s masterpieces on our refrigerator with magnets. It’s how we wait in line for just the short chance to stare at the Mona Lisa, even if only for a brief moment to spark and ignite our imagination. But creations are made of the material elements and limited by space, time and matter. But our consciousness is not made of these, as if they were, then the scientists would have found it by now, dissected it, and forced it into a mathematical equation so that they can pat themselves on the backs for being the masters of the universe that they are. But they can’t do that and will never be able to do that. But the irony of that is how can one dissect itself? It cannot. But the consciousness can appreciate and experience and marvel at its creations and just as we marvel at the Mona Lisa, we also marvel at the moon and even the universe. For they are creations, made by creators, who enjoy their creations. So please enjoy the moon in the same manner and joy that you have when you look at those pictures your children brought home from school that you put on your refrigerator. But don’t try to take the moon to your grave as we all know by the example of the Egyptian Pharaohs that we can’t take our treasures with us for they are only material, but we can take with us the joy and love and appreciation and awe, which are non material and do stay with our non material consciousness. Enjoy the movie 🖖

We all need to LOVE ONE ANOTHER and show each other compassion, truly caring for each other and helping one another who are in need, realizing that we are all the same, struggling through life, trying to find meaning through all of our hardships and dissapointments... We all have a lot more in common than we have differences, if we truly take the time to befriend one another and open our hearts to each other. Much Love to YOU and thank you again for your loving words ❤ I have prayed to Jesus Christ that you have all the blessings you deserve in LIFE and that you meet and are loved and cared for by a like minded person. do you believe that pure existence doesn't exist Like if we take away everything that has the property of existing like the cosmos right and let's say you got rid of it then we would just have pure existence or pure act like we would have non-existence since non-existence doesn't exist since it's non-existence If existence was intrinsic to the property of a thing then how can things not exist then? You know what the diffence is between a Cat that exist and Cat that does not? One has the property of existence and the other does So Basically pure existence would be this property of existing in and of itself So we've arrived at the "bottom" of reality with something that isn't dependent. Something with no potentials, and is the realest thing there is. That is, something fully actual. But why label it "God?" Aquinas spends many, many chapters on deriving the divine attributes, but I'll only cover a few very briefly here, to get the flavor. Matter and energy can both change location, change configuration, come together, break apart, and so on. So they have all kinds of potential to change. Something that is pure actuality, with no potentials, must therefore be immaterial. Having a spacial location means being movable, or having parts that are actually located over here but not actually located over there. Something that is pure actuality, with no potentials, cannot move or change or have parts that are non actual. Therefore, pure actuality is spaceless. If subject to the effects of time, it would have the potential to get older than it was. But since it has no potentials, it has no potential to get older. Therefore, pure actuality is timeless. If there is a distinction between two things, that means one has something that the other lacks. But pure actuality does not have potentials, and therefore lacks nothing. So pure actuality is singular. There is only one such thing. Pure actuality is the source of all potentials being actualized. Anything that happens is a potential thing becoming actual. Therefore, anything that ever happens or could happen is caused by pure actuality. So pure actuality is capable of doing anything and is therefore all-powerful. Now, unless you are a Platonist (and Aquinas is not), there are only two ways something can exist: as a material thing, or as an abstract concept in a mind. For example, the concept of "dog" can exist as an abstract idea in a mind, or as a material thing in the form of an actual dog. That is, the form of dog can exist either unconstrained by matter (the idea of dog) or constrained by matter (an actual dog). Since pure actuality exists unconstrained by matter, it must exist as knowledge. Also, "ignorance" is not a positive reality of its own, but rather is a lack of knowledge and hence an unrealized potential. So pure actuality is all-knowing. We can say that a thing is "good", not in the sense of being "something we personally like" (you may think a good pizza has anchovies, whereas others may not), but in the sense of being a better example of what it is supposed to be. When that thing better exemplifies its perfect archetype. For example, an elephant that takes care of its young, has all four legs, ears, and trunk is "good", or closer to "good", in the sense we mean here. If the elephant lacks something, such as a leg, or one of it's ears, it would not be as "good" as it would be if it had both ears. Since pure actuality has no potentials, it lacks nothing, and is therefore all-good. And NOW...Aquinas' conclusion is retroactively justified: "...and this everyone understands to be God."

This is also a big thing in lucid dreaming, dream yoga and Buddhism. You can train yourself by seeing everything as a dream and reality as not real. Eventually it will click. This can enable you to be aware in your none rem/dreaming stage at night and also your dreaming stage. So basically it will enable you to be aware in 3 different realities. Of course it's not entirely that simple but its the basic idea
@@edwinungerer7989 yeah you can then make good use of your none dreaming stage. It will be like floating in nothingness. Which you can also then use for practicing for death or other beneficial things.
@@joshbrentnall9292 in lucid dreams your imagination is pretty much the limit but in the none dreaming stage you won't be able to do much. You'd pretty much just be conscience. Be thankful and humbled by the realization that our consciousness is not of the material world which is limited by space, matter and time, which we experience life from a body that is also limited by space, matter and time, but experienced by our consciousness which is eternal, rather than material. The more I think of the the saying, "The more you know, the more you don't know" the more I realized how deep it is. I thought that I deeply understood the meaning of it, but then I suddenly realized that there are so much more to understand, that's why being ignorant is a bliss, the most foolish thoughts of smart people is thinking that they're smart.
“"The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.” " ― Bill Hicks

They're not really super intelligent, but rather than people who were more curious about the world we live in?

Well I don't think free will exists, I think everything is predetermined by what happened before, so in a way we are like SIMS characters. Whether there is an intelligent being controlling us or not is irrelevant.
World would benefit from understanding this. People have differing perspectives on many things, but having one perspective doesn't make the other wrong, it's just different from yours, and the right view is a combination of both. There has to be an acceptance that your view isn't the final view, and for the sake of progress, these views have to meet in the middle.

Yet we agree it is "blue," and can never know if we really have the same visual experience, or even one that is more similar than not. Heady stuff.
I've had this mindset for a while and I can't help but feel so isolated from everyone and everything around me. This line of thinking literally forms the backdrop of all other experiences for me. I'm in a constant state of confusion and bewilderment. It takes me more time to register when someone is talking to me, or any other stimuli, because it just doesn't feel real. Exactly as he mentioned about explanatory gap in this video. We could never possibly understand 100% of what he's trying to convey but we agree to what he is saying albeit it is just a mere fraction of whole message. Despite that, its is still worth listening to what others trying to explain and all there is left to do is to fill in the gaps by yourself and try to translate what you have learned into words that you can understand better.

I’m only in my early 50’s but I have found that if you treat life like a fight that’s what you’re going to find life is. It’s not a competition or struggle but something that you pass through. The less you fight it the less it fights you. Still figuring it out...
I always find this so interesting, as humans we accept reality as it’s presented, like even the craziest of dreams we don’t question most the time...I’m in space with someone I’ve not seen in years, yea seems legit!
In philosophy, there is a concept of a self-evident truth; something that is known or thought to be true and accepted to be true without there being enough evidence for it. We can never truly know for sure that life and everything that we experience is real or even agree on what constitutes real, but we assume it's true because we all assume it's true.

Pretty sure I have a home video of the moment I became consciously aware. I was about 3 or 4, and it was Christmas. My dad asked me, "Do you want to keep playing with that toy, or open another present?" to which I replied, "I am."
After reading the title "Reality is Just an Illusion That We All Agree On" and then watching the video Me: Fair enough boi, fair enough, time to end the illusion.
everyone needs to stop worrying about the small things and live life to its fullest. the true meaning of life is to find happiness and experience everything this world has to offer let it be good or bad we need to find love in ourselves and for others all life is to experience the ups and downs in life to become the people we need to become without this we cannot be human.
It’s really not that hard. Pretty much all you gotta do is get the mindset of “I know nothing, for I cannot know everything” and you’re pretty much good to go. Actually I don’t even know if that’s right but whatever.
I agree. Energy is real. We experience it in various ways, and not all people will necessarily agree on a shared experience. So the experience itself isn't reality. It remains that energy exists. Not only reality doesn't depend on our consciousness, it doesn't depend on any physical environment. Energy is just there! There isn't a conscious entity that created the universe, then.
Man, these videos are great. I hope you know how much we appreciate them, or appreciate them as well as we can from within this limited and obstructed human viewpoint.
I ve thought about this before and ended with the same conclusion which is that one should let go of the notion of right and wrong . Instead, do my best and empathize with everyone and every thing. But even if I try again and again , it seems emotions and already set patterns due to traumas are really hard to overwrite or supress, even kindly, with real concious effort. Yet , I found that trying at all is worlds better than not trying at all , ever. Love these vids since they think of the things most of us do.
Perhaps we are a part of the grand cosmic infinite consciousness. This life, everything we experience is just like we do in a dream, which is both real and unreal.

But don’t try to take the moon to your grave as we all know by the example of the Egyptian Pharaohs that we can’t take our treasures with us for they are only material, but we can take with us the joy and love and appreciation and awe, which are non material and do stay with our non material consciousness. do you believe that pure existence doesn't exist
Like if we take away everything that has the property of existing like the cosmos right and let's say you got rid of it then we would just have pure existence or pure act like we would have non-existence since non-existence doesn't exist since it's non-existence
If existence was intrinsic to the property of a thing then how can things not exist then?
You know what the diffence is between a Cat that exist and Cat that does not? One has the property of existence and the other does
So Basically pure existence would be this property of existing in and of itself
So we've arrived at the "bottom" of reality with something that isn't dependent. Something with no potentials, and is the realest thing there is. That is, something fully actual. But why label it "God?"
Aquinas spends many, many chapters on deriving the divine attributes, but I'll only cover a few very briefly here, to get the flavor.

Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.”

In this crazy world we now live in (or always have) this material is the ointment to the soul
This is easily my best video on TH-cam,I've watched this close to 10 times spanning over 1 year. I often come to remind myself that I can be very wrong and it's okay, this is what reality is
"I understand all of those words, separately"
Imagine Pursuit of wonder and exurb1a having a conversation together
Would be insanely beautiful
Pursuit of wonder will be a the guy who lost his parents at a young age while exurb1a would be the guy who just broke up with his girlfriend
@@chingchenghanjisuperidol9933 OMG yes lol
Your videos are always so thought-provoking and challenging to what most people consider the norms however I find myself more intrigued each time with each video you do amazing work and I absolutely look forward to each video when it comes out
Love how the videos are about how nothing matters and matter doesn’t even exist.
That, when you are right you are just as wrong.
With a conclusion that even though all this is true. We must continue to move on in this madness and learning until the light changes color.
Be at one with yourself, Be at one with the space around you, Be at one with life and death. For it is forever and never.
I just pretend I understand what he says.
That's what most of us do
I like your funny words, magic man!
We watch him to feel smart then go back to our stupid ways of living
Me too, but I am okay with that.
I love your channel.... I came across it last year and I really really love what you preach .... It hits me deep and honestly has helped me calm down and understand and tolerate others and myself.... I love how honest this channel is... It gives me what I really seek....mental peace and acceptance... please never stop making these videos. Love you❤️
I been watching your videos lately before I go to sleep. Been rewatching oldies, so glad you posted again. I’ll be picking your book up soon! ❤️Love your content!
here we go again
When I was around 6 or 7 years old, my grandfather, in our mother tongue, used to say that the universe is 'Maya' meaning 'illusion'.
i have thoughts and beliefs that i can’t always put into words that other people understand; or my differing beliefs become muddled by axiomatic norms. pursuit of wonder helps me organize those thoughts and be able to store more files into those thought compartments so i have more to back up those thoughts.
“The only way we can know if life is an illusion is by stepping out of it”
But you yourself is illusion. The truth is, everything we know and do not know is a part of this eternal illusion. The world we percirve is its'form' and not the substance.
drugs are good
Yeah that feeling when you pause and think wow this is all real- but it’s just a kind of feeling of amazement that is easy to ignore depending on many factors of distraction
Living is real experience, just the stuff that makes it up is a hologram. Just leave it a little better than when you spawned in. The meaning of life is love.
I’m only in my early 50’s but I have found that if you treat life like a fight that’s what you’re going to find life is. It’s not a competition or struggle but something that you pass through. The less you fight it the less it fights you. Still figuring it out...
Thanks for the advice, I’m only 19 trying to gain wisdom and happiness. Any advice?
I always find this so interesting, as humans we accept reality as it’s presented, like even the craziest of dreams we don’t question most the time...I’m in space with someone I’ve not seen in years, yea seems legit!
A good life is where you surf the unending mystery with love in your heart.
One simply has to deal with the insecurities of being wrong for a lifetime. Everything else is just childish ego-games.
On note of the color perceiving part, I had that thought a few years back and it was something that I pondered. Nice to see it in this video
These videos make me miserable and frightened, but at the same time relaxed and calm
In philosophy, there is a concept of a self-evident truth; something that is known or thought to be true and accepted to be true without there being enough evidence for it. We can never truly know for sure that life and everything that we experience is real or even agree on what constitutes real, but we assume it's true because we all assume it's true.
do you believe that pure existence doesn't exist
Before I even watch the video, I'd like to point out that I keep telling people they keep the matrix up and running.
There is absolutely no way for this question ever to be answered, wherein the curiosity will forever be sensationalized and unquenched.
Your stuff is always thought provoking.
I had that thought about how we could see colours different but wouldnt be able to tell as a kid some day... This video opened my eyes and gave me nostalgia
Are we living in the age of existential crisis? Every third person goes through such thoughts these days.
It’s certainly a time of reflection thanks to being locked inside the house
since when did thinking about things become a existential crisis are people really incapable of having deep thoughts without freaking out
@@gotworc yes
@@gotworc the whole point of thoughts and thinking are illusory pointlessness
Existential crisis was probably the birth of science. Wonder of how and what things are
I LOVED YOUR AUDIOBOOK. Everyone should support this man and purchase a copy.
Your videos always leave me with a spark of peace and tranquility, thank you ❤️
Pretty sure I have a home video of the moment I became consciously aware. I was about 3 or 4, and it was Christmas. My dad asked me, "Do you want to keep playing with that toy, or open another present?" to which I replied, "I am."
After reading the title "Reality is Just an Illusion That We All Agree On" and then watching the video
Me: Fair enough boi, fair enough, time to end the illusion.
Is there an end or are we stuck in a loop?

Time to get real
everyone needs to stop worrying about the small things and live life to its fullest. the true meaning of life is to find happiness and experience everything this world has to offer let it be good or bad we need to find love in ourselves and for others all life is to experience the ups and downs in life to become the people we need to become without this we cannot be human.
Beautiful! Thank you for this quality content.
I always look forward to your videos. The effort you put into them is unmatched and it is always a treat to watch, thank you.
I got your t-shirt for Christmas. I love it, just wanted to share :)
4:52 damn what a profound metaphor, great video man 👍
Releasing the desire to always be right, is so hard. I hope to keep striving towards doing that more comdortably.
My existential crisis goes “ah shit here we go again!”
God damn! I always thought of this but whenever I told about this to others they just laughed! I'm glad that now I know that I'm not losing my mind !
“They’re walking around all day long worrying about everything, worry about the air about the water about the soil”
Man, these videos are great. I hope you know how much we appreciate them, or appreciate them as well as we can from within this limited and obstructed human viewpoint.
What do you mean "we"? As far as I know "you" are part of this reality, thus just part of the illusion.
This is exactly how I’ve looked at life for many years. Beautiful my articulated. Thank you.
