I love both the movies so much. But my pick would be 'Ratsasan'. This movie was so much fun to watch. It was a real thriller, had suspense and also a little bit of comedy. I highly recommend this movie. But also in this movie, there are a lot of scenes with dead and not-so-nice bodies. So, please watch the film keeping this in mind beforehand.
Both the movies are very great, but personally, I pick Raatsasan because it has the eagerness of what is going to happen next. It is extra spooky and confusing but the ending part explains everything about the killer and the story that happened till now. I'd personally prefer to suggest drishyam and that is because i haven't watched ratsasan yet🏃♀️🏃♀️ and i didn't understand the trailer as it is in tamil ( a language i don't know and it doesn't have subtitles) i think i'll watch it someday though because i heard a lot about it being good anyways please watch drishyam original malayalam version so that you can watch part 2 too I personally watched it in telugu (my regional language) with my whole family we are a family of parents and 2 daughters too (exactly like in the movie) and it felt even more sad

Interesting comparison this one! on drishyam the Malayalam version was interesting to watch because it was for the first time audience so a plot developed that way in Malayalam cinema not sure about others, also casting Mohanlal added to a whole new dimension to the character and the grounded realism of channeling character development in the plot movement, he brought that level of realism to that role! The Hindi version was good to watch though a remake because it was something new in Bollywood plot development too, Ajay Devgan was a interesting choice he has developed more as an actor bringing new shades of subtleness to his acting skills in about 10-12 years, but for such deep roles he is a bit wooden and serious to pull it off fully! the other movie ratsasan, feels like a movie not a realism based drama, it’s a crime thriller like Seven or Along came the spider sort of feel, a hero hunting the killer story so can’t really compare the films apples to apples but still a exciting thriller with some action for audiences
The version you watched is Hindi. The original one is Malayalam starring Mohanlal. And a second part was released last year which has not been remade. So it is better to watch the original one.
