I just bought this ago weeks ago. Love it! Every review I've watched say the same thing. Then after shooting it, I truly believe every thing they all said
I've the tp9sa mod 2. I've been a pistol enthusiast for over 20 years. I am truly amazed that one can buy a 9mm, double stack auto for what I paid. $379.00 out the door. Everytime I shoot it . . trying to find faults . . . I come away smiling? Am I dreaming . . less than $400.00 . . am I dreaming? Ladies, gentleman, fellow enthusiasts . . . it doesn't get much better than this!!
Just found your channel a month ago. Been browsing some of your vids and have to say your presentation and structure of your videos is outstanding! Great work man!
i have the same slide lock issue with my 509 tactical, i thought it was broken for a while, i just ordered the combat elite a few days ago and wait to shoot it, every video i watch talks about how awesome the trigger is
How was it bro? My cousin had a 509 tactical but sold it first week I think he wanted some else or he wasn’t happy about it so he got the p320 m17 and I ordered the tp9 da
Fantastic review Graham (and Maddy!) and yes I think maybe the accuracy test would be good considering what this model is geared towards, but how about a comparison video of this and the O.G TP9 SF maybe? Anyone skipping out on your videos before they’re over is just plain missing out!!
Thanks for the look at the latest Canik. I enjoy the format of your tabletop and shooting reviews. Keep up the good work. The only thing I would have added to this review was a comparison with the non-Combat, Elite version. I bought one from Buds for under $400 and found it to be an excellent pistol. I was wondering if you thought the changes to the Combat version are worth the extra cost over the standard Elite.
Just like this video, sometimes I watch on my tablet not logged in to my account. If I like the video, when I get on my phone, logged in, I click the thumbs up. Thanks for the vid! I've stayed away from tp9s because of the issues via which it seems like these pistols prefer hot NATO loads.
I've heard those rumors, and experienced it with some, but if you watch our "What's for Dinner?" tests you'll see that the problem isn't really there anymore.
Somebody doesn’t watch to the end? Savages! I’m there until the final jet pass, or whatever that sound effect is (unless, I admit, it’s AK-47 related, then I have no interest whatsoever). Great stuff but I did miss the accuracy testing.
Thank you and welcome to the channel! This is an older video, I'd like to think we've improved over time. Please check out one of our newer videos and let us know what you think.
Good review! I'm just going to put out there about the "watch duration" statistic: most people jump around when watching the videos. When this happens it only reflects the total watch time as duration but that's not an accurate example of what they do and do not watch. The same thing happens to my channel and hardly anyone watches the whole thing. That said, it might be worth reconsidering omitting the accuracy tests as I'd really like to see how this gun groups. And would easily skip the what's for dinner for accuracy info.
Hi Sir , can you tell me please if the Canik oem front iron sight with the white dot will be working ok on the Canik tp9 Sf elite combat executive? I am planning to change the front iron sight from the fiber optic one to the black with the white dot.. Have you had any experience if this setup will be ok in terms of POA=POI ?? it seems i cannot find this information anywhere.. thanks
@@GBGuns that's the problem!! i cannot ask to Canik USA because the site doesn't allow me from italy... and i asked to Canik Turkey at two different email address but they never replyed to me ..thanks for your reply thou
Heck! I love to watch you make those small groups, but if you choose not to record your shooting, a quick commentary on the pulled paper target would be nice
I own several tp9 series pistols. They all shoot great but I'm not gonna pay for the salient name on this model. Compared to the sfx with an included vortex optic, the price you pay for a mag well you're still well under msrp AND dare I say, you can just build a polymer80 glock with all the goods and still have money to afford the rmr I love that canik listens to the consumers. They have delivered something requested at each new release. I'm looking forward to a true compact offering.
If they aren't watching until the end they are lobbyist trolls we that subscribe to the channels are enthusiasts and want the full monty in a review. That said, great video sir. Question though, does it honestly shoot any better than the SF Elite? I mean it is dang near 450 dollars more than the standard Elite model and I get that it has threaded barrel for a can and has slide cut for optics but does that make it a nearly 1k priced pistol? I get that it is a joint venture with Salient Arms International but still does it out perform the Elite to the point that it is worth an extra 3 to 400 dollars? If memory serves (it's been a few weeks and I'm old) the Combat Elite MSRP is like just shy of 900 bucks. That's a significant jump in price over the SF Elite which can be had for between 389 to 440 depending on where you are shopping.
@@GBGuns I would like to see what the difference is because the Elite is an amazing pistol itself and is nicely equipped for the price. I'm just curious if the few Salient parts really make that much of a difference in performance and then whether the price is justified.
Is the Combat version worth nearly twice that of the TP9SF Elite? Good question. Probably the best way to answer that question is to look at the cost of the upgrades if purchased individually. A threaded barrel? Around $125. RMR Cutout on the slide. Maybe $150. Salient trigger components and Magwell? Easily another $200. All in all, looks like about $400-$500 in upgrades if you were to do it yourself. Is it worth it? This gun is well known for it's weak ejection, albeit Canik has certainly improved that situation. Still, it's not a gun I'd want to run a can on. I would think a suppressor would only make the problem worse. The trigger on the standard elite is so good, I can't see a reason why I would spend any money for an upgrade. The flared magwell has value, dependent upon your perspective. I suppose the question isn't "Are these upgrades worth the money?". The real question is, "Are these upgrades worth the money to you?".
@@horseman1956 I appreciate your perspective i personally do not run suppressed and well the magwell is a take it or leave it for me. I shot competition for years without one so it isn't a crucial item. I myself would look for an RMR cut slide to put on the SF Elite, and there are a couple companies that make +3 and even +5 round magazine extensions for anywhere between 25 to 40 bucks depending on the company. Taylor Freelance makes a +4 basepad for 29.95 and if one was inclined to want a magwell it is 49.95 again i don't require it. The Elite comes with match grade barrel from the factory and the Warren sights are more than adequate. From what I've read Salient didn't have anything to do with the trigger that it is a Canik trigger. If the upgrades are not performance enhancing to a noticeable difference in accuracy then to me it isn't worth the cost. I have never used an optic so even the RMR cut slide is a take it or leave it. Extended mags are a plus for sure.
I have quite a few surpressor ready gun. XdM, cz p07 custom glock 19. All of which cost less than this except for the glock of course. Why would I choose then with their terrible customer service and less than stellar QC?

I wish salient made the threads 1/2x28rh. Should have put tritium sights too if it’s marketed as a combat pistol. SAI should know better. Other than that seems like a great gun
@@GBGuns I actually shot the combat elite. My question was more towards the standard sf elite though. U literally cannot get a better reset on any pistol than the combat elite/executive, not even the PPQ. The sig srt kit is the only competitor.
