Sis this is spot on! I’m 33 alhamdulilah i got a stable job in government. But i was raised on survival.. I worked hard got a house with my mom who raised us as a single mother. So i can focus on growing and being successful in this. 2025 its time to letting watching other people success stories and not building your own.
Procrastinating where? You already sound so successful and have done so much MashAllah, have goals but keeping relationships are very important don’t sacrifice them for anything
@@unaa9380 thank you sister! immediate family i am always there for them. But i've have a lot of extended family who were always in a pickle and I helped out by offering my time and money. basically it led to burn out. Covid I got sick and was drained in many ways. but alhamdulilah regardless
Sis I rarely had someone speak my own mind like that, I sincerely pray to God that we get where we've longed for. We deserve to live at peace with ourselves
What you said at 09:58 is so true, nowadays we consider religious people to be "boring" because they stay away from the things w we consider entertaining/desirable which are usually against islam or distract you from islam, for example music. So when we become more better muslims we worry that we will seem like that to people.
spot on!! it's been an insecurity of mine for a long time but im realising that it's all complete BS anyway. everything that I want from being 'cool' or 'interesting' pales in comparison to what Allah promises us!
I stopped listening/caring about music a while ago and stopped doing a lot of things for the sake of Allah, and in doing so, i felt like I became this boring, unrelatable person. It can be lonely at times, especially living in the west but I try to remind myself constantly that it doesn't mean i'm boring. I'm just living my life in a way that pleases Allah swt.
@@hafsaabdullahi6887 Really proud of you! It is hard to let go of music nowadays because you end up excluding yourself from what everyone else is doing like going on tiktok and understanding trends, but I guess that could be one of our trials nowadays, accepting that exclusion/loneliness to better our religion
100 percent agree. Like many, I have come to accept that the habits that got me through the last few years, 'the loop', as you mentioned has hindered my growth and blinding my self-belief. Social-media doesn't help if you rely on living life through others, and not taking inspiration from it. JazakAllah kheir for this, you put into words what many of us are feeling at this moment. May Allah reward you!
YESSSSS ILYSM a big reason to this is TikTok it makes it seem like success is all about being rich traveling the world, or working for yourself by 20, but that’s not real life for most people. The internet makes you feel like you’re behind if you’re not living this “perfect” life, but the truth is, success is personal. It’s not about what looks good online but it’s truly about what feels good to you. If you’re doing what matters to you and finding joy in it, you’re already winning in lifeeee.

I totally understand what you’re saying. I am currently pushing to be better, praying harder, using my time better & it’s hard at the start but now I’m starting to feel better. Only we can do the work on us with Allahs guidance. May Allah make this transition and understanding of this easy. ❤
The fact that you're able to visualise where you want to be and the person you want to become (have defined goals) makes "me" believe that you are at least halfway there.

I really needed to see this video. As a young teen I’ve picked up certain hobbies as a form of escapism from my environment. SubhanAllaah, this resonated as though it was my own thoughts! JazakAllaah khair sis, you articulated something that can be messy and confusing into an engaging video which gives comfort and clarity. ♥️
Subhan'Allah sis your words have been articulated so clearly. I have subscribed and you have words speaks true to all our lived experience. I know where I need to go but the overwhelm the anxiety has caused me to freeze and deal with what problems day to day.
Sister, thank you for this video so much. May Allah continue to bless you with the ease of expressing yourself and expressing so much of what we are feeling💕
This is so relatable. I hope this year all of us can truly honour ourselves by putting in the work & putting ourselves first. And sis, may this amazing video you created be the catalyst for you smashing your goals ❤
Mash'Allah sister! This video was amazing. I can recognise everything you say. But alhamdulillah no more. This year is all about changing that, in sha Allah 💕
My sincere advice would be to turn back to Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Real success is not in worldly matters. Real success is all about what is our inner state when good or bad comes along. You can get out of deprived areas and move into more privileged areas but that does not mean you are on the road to success. This could be the road to failure. We need to start rethinking what is my ultimate goal and the rest will fall into place.
Assalaamu alaikum young sis! I’m really encouraged by your bravery in articulating some of your difficulties. Looking forward to more videos and pray you’re doing well while away. Xoxo

in terms of self-help books- i honestly got really disillusioned with the whole self-help genre because i feel the advice is tailored to a specific type of person (who is very different to me). the only books that stuck with me were:
-Deep Work by Cal Newport (8/10)
-CPTSD: From Surviving to Thriving by Pete Walker (9/20- very good book if you have childhood trauma and want to understand it better)
-Atomic Habits by James Clear (6.5/10- helped me understand the importance and methodology of habit-forming)
