- These are the 23 highest marked bull rides in PBR history. I included the name of the rider, the name of the bull, how many points the ride was scored, the year the ride was made, and the event it happened at. The song is Days Go By by The Offspring.
Those judges back in the day were giving these boys 95 and 96 points rides. Those rides would be high 80’s now days
Totally agreed. They handed out the points in the early days. That being said, some of the old rides belong.
Yeah. Agreed. Those rides were really good but Mauney on Bushwacker and Wing on Bruiser should be higher

Troy Dunn on Redwolf at 1997 finals for all the money should have been number or no less than number 2 against bubba on promise land and little brother Owen Dunn on White Sport Coat of Freddie Cordell in 1996 could have also been number 1 but you did a good job on picking the best.theres so much to choose from and one opinion is just as good as another .once again great job and thanks for 👍~Duane Colbert~

The Stormy Wing ride on Bruiser is one of the best ever in my opinion.
Agreed, it deserves a way higher spot on this list. Amazing athleticism and power on display from both bull and rider, you have to love it!

Stormy wing on Bruiser and Ty on redwolf were the best, in my opinion, but they were all great rides. Points are not given out so easily these days, though.
what about Owen Washburn when he rode Hammer? that was a great ride
Twice in the same weekend! Hammer hadn't been twisted yet at that point.
Jeez Norman Curry took a shot from Hollywood in the 1999 World Finals. Also a lot of those rides we're epic. But No. 1 ride in bull riding history period is Lane Frost on Red Rock in the 1988 Challenge of the Champions.

The bull has trained, since he was a calf. To buck and play. Sometimes a bull will "chase" the rider or helpers. Mostly he will take a victory lap, and then trot out. The Victor. Now and then we are shown how the bull goes back to his Star Lodge.

Ah it always amazed me how agile these big big animals are even carrying so much weight
A couple of things: 1. Judges know what a bull is doing and how difficult it is to match, the more showy bulls won't score as high as some really rank ones. If you watch video of Promise Land or Bodacious you would think they're big, slow and easy but the opposite is true. 2. At some events judges will get caught up in the moment, like someone just made a great ride and they scored him 92 (which was generous) but someone else makes a better ride so they have to score him higher. That's why these lists should never be just about score, it should be about the actual ride (see Stormy Wing for the perfect example, or look up Wade Leslie on Wolfman for the opposite effect). 3. Every one of these lists is subjective, I just watched on that said Lane Frost was the best bull rider ever, and put Jim Sharp at #8.

None of these guys got shit on Chompas De Guadalupe, he’s a Oxacan bull rider and he rode shirtless with no hat and a lit cigarette in his mouth, didn’t grab a single rope and tired the bull out and got off calmly

pace garrett because they didn't score as high lol, it was better ride no question best ride in pbr history but judges don't give points like they use to, the 10-5 are 89 point rides now a days but at the time they were good

Most of this list should’ve been mid 80 point rides. I believe they were marked that high back then to try and make people believe the product was better than the rest.
