    I had a very bad theater experience this year. When I went and saw Insidious: Chapter 3 with my friend Jose, a couple of teenage girls were like whispering and giggling at some of the scares that were in the movie. I try shushing at them so they can be quiet, but they didn't listen. I went and talked to the manager about the incident, but no one took care of it, and everybody was like telling each other to be quiet, and this caused me and my friend Jose to walk out of the movie. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund, and so did my friend Jose.

    I have two stories off the top of my head:
    1. When I went to see Up with my family, there was this group of middleschoolers behind us and they were putting their feet up on the chairs, kicking the back of our seats, and talking out loud
    2. When I went to see Pacific Rim there was this 12 year old kid and his dad talking out loud like "OH I THINK I KNOW WHATS GONNA HAPPEN!" and "OMG WILL THAT HAPPEN?" I had to cover my ears at one point. I was so close to turning to them and asking them to stop.

    I'm 99.99% on board with you. I did actually become the villain in one circumstance, which I regret. It turns out that some phones now don't allow you to disable emergency amber alerts and weather alerts. I even contacted customer service and they don't seem well informed on how to prevent this.
    I became "The Bad Guy" when watching Terrence Malick's 'Knight of Cups' at an art house theater earlier this year. I had put my phone on total silence, not even vibrate. But there was an amber alert and it sent this crazily loud buzzing to my phone. Because I thought I'd muted my phone I didn't assume it was me at first. This resulted in the annoyance lasting a prolonged 10~ seconds before I was like "wait, holy hell... this is coming from MY phone??" The moment I recognized that I turned my phone off completely. I still feel bad about it, but even after contacting customer support I don't know how to prevent that from happening.
    The lesson? Just literally turn off your phone during the film. I now shut my phone off before every screening, because muting isn't enough nowadays.

    Ne being a 13 year old, i dont see much movies in the theater, probably only 3 a month.
    The worst experience i had was while watching the power rangers movie. It was around 40 mins in when this baby 5 seats away started crying extremely loudly... the mother tried calming him/her down, but it was no use, five mins later, she took the kid out. Thankfully.

    One of the worst experiences I've ever had was when I saw the 2014 Ninja Turtles movie. Not only was I extremely bored of the actual movie, I saw it with a half full theatre, and sitting behind us, there was this family of like 4 people, a dad who looked in his mid 30's, two 10 year old girls, and one little boy. And the dad and one of the girls were talking and talking through the WHOLE FUCKING movie. They said shit like, "Oh my god, that's my Mikey," totally out loud where the whole theatre can hear it. "Wow, that's Shredder he looks so cool!" "Do you know who she is? That's April O Neal, she's a reporter." My friend who saw it with me, actually said to one of the girls, "Are you serious?" After they were kicking our seats the entire time. And there was also a little girl who looked like she was 3 or 4 years old, who was running around the theatre laughing and shouting, "WEEEEE!" Man that was a bad experience all around.

    @Justice237 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've never had a horrible experience in an actual cinema, but the closest I've had to something like that was during a double music lesson last year with my class. It was our last lesson of the school year and we were watching E.T the Extra-Terrestrial, because we had studied film music earlier in the year and had used the bicycle chase from E.T as an example. This is one of my favourite films of all time, and I really wanted to sit down and enjoy it once again, but there are some classmates who are talking completely out loud about something completely unrelated to the movie. Let me tell you how this was worse than someone talking out loud to everything that had happened in the movie while in a movie theatre:
    1. The audio quality of the actual film wasn't as loud
    2. The room was smaller
    3. They just DIDN'T STOP. Like I said, they weren't even reacting to the movie, they weren't paying any attention to it at all, they were just talking amongst themselves completely out loud
    4. Our teacher had told us to listen out carefully for John William's use of music and leitmotifs in the opening scene, and the fact that they were talking not only meant they weren't listening, but also making it hard for other people to listen. It was infuriating, and I was so pissed off I wanted to scream at them. That's my worst experience

  • @TheAdam1995
    @TheAdam1995 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    My worst movie experience was when I went to see the abomination known as A Good Day to Die Hard.
    Throughout the entire film.... nobody stood up, raised their middle fingers and shouted THIS MOVIE SUCKS!.
    It shows how much films praised by many are turned down by ignorant dumb-asses while films that deserved the critical thrashing ended up being praised by the same morons.

    Mine was last freaking night at Captain America: The Winter Soldier (3rd viewing, haha). My dad and I were watching it and he had never seen it before. But the only problem was, there were 2 babies screaming throughout most of it. I almost lost it. I went out and talked to Management, but they didn't do anything. HIRE A BABYSITTER! It's really freakin' annoying when people have no consideration for others. At least take the baby out into the corridor where you can comfort the baby, and also see the screen.

    In my screening of No Time To Die in theaters, a group of people took me and my family's seat and argued with us over who's seat it was since they claimed it was theirs. We looked for our real seats when turned out that group was the ones who took our seats.

  • @alexmeyer5260
    @alexmeyer5260 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My three worst movie going experiences:
    1. Ride Along--A few rows in front of me, these parents brought their two toddlers to the movie with them. The kids spent most of the time running around the theater; they clearly had no interest in the movie whatsoever. You know what movie was playing at the same time as Ride Along that night? Frozen!!! Why didn't they take their kids to that movie?! It's more appropriate. These parents either couldn't afford a babysitter or were too lazy to hire one. If that's the case, then DON'T GO TO THE MOVIES if you plan on seeing a movie that's not appropriate for kids.
    2. Admission--There were about six teens, around 13-14 years old, I assume. They chatted non-stop during the previews and early on during the movie. They ended up getting bored and leaving about 10 minutes in, so that was a relief
    3. The Company You Keep--The only people in the theater with me were these two old ladies. Every time an actor would come on screen, they would go "There's Robert Redford! There's Julie Christie! There's Nick Nolte!" etc. Granted they were whispering rather than talking out loud, but since I was two rows behind them, I could clearly hear them. I ultimately didn't confront them about it because I knew they weren't trying to be rude on purpose, and they only talked when they saw an actor on screen for the first time during the movie.

      Me too! The theater I go to, almost none of that happens, and we have managers going into the auditoriums every 20 minutes, to make sure no one's being obnoxious or on their phones. They only go on their phones if they forget to turn it off or put them on silent. It happens before the previews come up. It's PURE HEAVEN in there! ^7^ Though we occasionally get people kicking the seats or a little kid being loud.

    I attended the cinema a few days ago. I chose my seat in the center of the row and happily sat there..... for 5 minutes. Up comes this (repulsive) woman with hundreds of bangles on, a huge basket and a sickening odor. She talked, eat some food which smelled like rotting wood mixed with smoke and sun-dried tomatoes and worst of all sucked her fingers. Through the whole film. The sound of a grown woman, sucking her fingers and then having some sought of stomach seizure is incredibly distracting. 2 hours and 6 minutes of the sound of saliva being applied to long fingers is sickening. I shooshed her many times throughout, but did not take any notice. Having this woman being annoying for over 2 hours is excruciating.

    I had one experience once when I watched Spider-Man: Homecoming and there was these two guys sitting right behind me laughing their asses off not because of the movie, but because of a funny meme and to make the situation worse, they talked, kicked my seat and laughed through the first act of the movie! I was furious! 30 minutes in I turned around and yelled:
    SHUT THE HELL UP AND STOP TOUCHING MY SEAT!!!! STOP BEING A PLAGUE AND GET THE HELL OUT
    After that outrage, the rest of the theatre started clapping and they responded to the guys: “Yeah, shut up!” or “Get out of here!” After that, some security guards busted in and escorted them out. Couldn’t be happier after they were gone. The theatre was quiet through the rest of the movie

    When I went to go see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes this couple in front of me wouldn't stop talking and texting on their phones. Their brightness was on maximum blinding me from the movie. So I took my cherry Coke and dumped it on their heads and some of it got on their phones. They got so pissed. Than 20 minutes later they got back on their phones. Without them knowing I took the lid of the husband's soda off. Took both their phones from them and dropped it in the cup. The cup was half filled. So their phone was drenched. They left the theater finally and the people next to me were like "wow! You're fucking crazy, buy that was the most over the top hilarious way to tell people to silence their cell phones" they applauded me and with the silent golf clap so they didn't disrupt the movie.
    JK. I'm not that crazy.

      I'd rather have a lo of jump cuts than umms in a video.

    I got triggered hearing about the sky fall story, that's not only my favorite bond movie by one of my favorite movies ever, if someone ruined it like that for me in theaters I would've been pretty sad. sorry to hear about that bro

    I once snapped on this lady who kept trying to pelt me and my friend with snow caps and playing on her phone full volume. I told her that if she wanted to throw food and be loud and annoying she could go to a zoo and apply to be a chimp (she looked like one anyways) and after that I told her if she didn't turn her phone off and watch the god damn movie that I'd get us both thrown out because I was going to attempt to shove the phone down her throat. I made her spill the snow caps on the floor accidently and even though she didn't turn her phone off, she put it away.

    I talk at the movies... to explain what's happening to my mom (she doesn't really understand English). I hope that doesn't piss you off :C

    I've never had a terrible experience like the ones you've mentioned, when i saw paranormal activity 2 the whole theatre was pretty loud but I didn't mind, it fed the atmosphere of the film as no one was really taking it seriously it seemed.
    When I saw This is the End, some woman had the most idiotic annoying I've ever heard, 'ahahaHAAAA' and it was so loud and shrill it was ridiculous, though I guess thats not really her fault. Still very annoying though.
