When the fog comes in, and you miss some of your attacks. When the amazee dayzee sings in the audience, and you gain less star power. When an item falls from above and makes you dizzy. Basically the stage gimmick as a whole was annoying to deal with
it can be annoying but if you're good the game you're usually fine, unless the bowser statue fucks you or get unlucky with fog/items falling and giving you statuses

I'm curious what he thinks of Super Paper Mario. It's my favorite in the series. It gets so much unnecessary hate. Best story, some of my favorite characters, Bowser is playable for more than 10 minutes unlike in TTYD, fantastic soundtrack, and, if I'm being honest, the platforming gameplay didn't bother me at all. Plus hey, you get at least 1 RPG battle in the game so it's something. I still like TTYD and PM64 as well, but nothing will replace my love for Super Paper Mario.

While I don't _love_ SPM, the platforming gameplay was fun, and I enjoyed using Bowser, even if his girth cheesed the difficulty out of boss fights. My favorite character is Luigi. The music is also catchy in Super Paper Mario, with my favorite being the Mega Star, or Unrivaled Battle, according to the InterNed.
