My dad owns the Countryman SD All4, almost fully specced (except panorama roof and including JCW package) with the "smallest" engine at 190HP. Still a blast to drive, but I could not find a proper seat position yet. Always feels weird for some reason - but I've only driven it about 100km myself. Compared to the BMW 5 series we had before, with the exact same diesel engine, the interior of the Mini definitely feels cheaper and more plasticy, but then again, a the fully specced Countryman is "only" as much as the entry price of the BMW 520d.
That was a really good review. I don’t particularly like Minis either but the way you shot and presented the car was great. A good balance of external, road and interior views and content. I thought it was much better than the PistonHeads review.
I have the "pawtry" 231bhp jcw and it's actually rapid espcially with the low down torque. Plenty fast enough to have great fun in and you can't beat a classic manual gearbox.
The JCW F56 auto (hatchback) is actually marginly faster than this once moving (30mph+), assumably due to being 300kg lighter and no loss through 4WD system. I only know this as was intending on replacing my JCW hatchback with this clubman (changed mind after test-drive). HTTPS://zeperfs.com
I dread to think how much that thing is, and at the end of the day it's still a mini. I must admit I do laugh a bit when someone tells you what car they have, they won't just say it's a focus mini or civic, because they know it doesn't sound good, they have to say focus st, mini cooper or civic type r
@@kdote398 nah, people add that bit extra on to stand out, I know many people who drive various versions of the 911, and that's what they all call it, if you own a car like that 911 says it all, no need to say gt, targa etc
@@acelectricalsecurity but if you drive a mini cooper would you not say mini cooper? That is what the car is ahah. Its like owning a 911 and just sayin i drive a porsche
Great review of the clubman jcw, it's so great to see you having fun in this car while driving it. The interior looks high quality (okay, the steering wheel button is scary) . How does the boot space feel in reality compared to your 5series? Is it usable with the rear doors? I like the look of those doors, but I don't know how practicable they are... Great job, keep going Greetings from Bavaria
Many thanks as always mate. The boot is not as big as the 5 Series. It’s about the same as a Golf. Rear doors are surpringly easy to use especially with Comfort Open.
What I miss the most about the boot (Countryman) is that only the whole boot opens. The 5series (at least the newer ones) is able to open just the rear window which I always thought to be a great feature. Space, while smaller is still plenty in the Countryman, I think the Clubman wont differ much.
Pilot Super Sports good in the wet? 😂 Mine are bloody awful below 10 degrees. Amazing in the dry. PS4’s will be going on when they’re dead. Agree about the steering wheel because it lets the car down. You can’t have adaptive with 19’s on the new M135i either.
Do the tyres actually over inflate during the track session? Boyle’s Law would suggest that the volume remains constant and pressure increases with temperature. 🌡⚗️ 😘
You know what they say opinions are like arseholes everyones got one. I think it looks kind of ok and i am sure there are lots of people who think your (and my) favorite cars are butt ugly.
Was in market for a 2 year old golf R a while back. Great car for burning off lights but found that was about it. Too popular, boring to look at, dull interior and main think that swayed me towards an F56 JCW was golf R was such a boring drive! JCW hatch may have 60bhp less but by the time you take into account the golf weighs 300Kg more and loss through a 4WD system there's only 10bhp / tonne in it. 30-100mph times are almost identical (www.zeperfs.com) (JCW F56 auto) apart from JCW makes it so much more fun!
Drive one and you might change your mind. I have one and it gets compliments every day by lots of people (not just car people) and it’s a blast to drive. VW a amazing car but it’s just boring I think compared to the JCW. Plus so much grip and it just want to take off!
Never heard of this channel before, I'm positively surprised about the journalistic quality of this review. Great!
Big thanks mate
Got the last version and it’s been a great daily 👍🏻

Great video mate and what a beautiful powerful car 🏎💨💥
Thanks for saying so mate!
How about in the long ride and family ride? Which is more comfortable? The Mini Clubman Cooper S or the Clubman JCW? Or its just the same?
I like the voice addovers

Mini is a quite a general term as they have alot of models. So you would say mini cooper. Not because it sounds better but because thats what it is.

Just goes to show they’re basically the same car then!

Why is the interior shot at 6.10 reversed?
Anyone have an idea of what the 1/4 time is on this car? I can only find 0-60 times.
306 PS..? PferdStärken..? Are you german all of a sudden?
mothaybabonnam Its ok to say HP
Is this one of those party limos ? This kind of car does nothing for me
Great video but I just can't stop seeing Kenny Everett, sorry 😆
3dr is fine... 5dr is fugly
But why? Just get a Model 3.
Not putting a manual gearbox in these is a huge mistake in my opinion I wont buy one now.
I do like you videos; however, I'm sorry, the engine maybe good in this car, but this car is so ugly, nobody in their right mind would buy one!

Another horrible big jelly mould..
Get a proper mini !!
No one can convince me on this generation of minis. Overpriced ponsy cars. Get a golf r
Golf R is an over priced Leon Cupra.
Voi Vod and about interesting as watching paint dry...
