I was off the coast of Florida on valentines day and there was a red heart balloon about every couple hundred yards in every direction. Those balloons are everywhere.

I live in central illinois. While in the stand I noticed a Balloon hanging in a tree and glassed at it and it had a zip loc bag tied to the string. I was interested in seeing what was in the bag and it was a note w a phone number on it! I called it and the lady said she lived in south Texas and let loose a balloon every year on the late dads birthday. Just an idea of how far they travel.

Now I understand I was watching a hunting beast video the other day and he looked at the guy he was walking with he said look I know we're in a good spot there's a balloon and he didn't elaborate on it so now I know.
And after watching your video now I know where all the balloons go to die

I have scouted multiple public land areas and when I find good bedding areas there is usually balloons near. I agree it is a thermal gathering areas that deer like to bed.

It's so weird I happen to find 2 this year within about 15 feet of each other 60 yards down a hundred and fifty yard slope that bottoms out into a stream then goes back up the other side and yes it's right below my food plot and I've got a couple nice side Hill runs the first sit there this year I had three button bucks walk on their main together in a group you can bet I'll be figuring that out thanks Jeff Dillon great job on the camera

Dan Infault says in some places it could be where the thermals swirl. Maybe they feel comfortable in a spot where they can smell all around them.

Elementary schools have contests where kids let balloons go and give prizes for the farthest recoveries. Some travel hundreds of miles.

I had a balloon near the creek on my property in Northeast Georgia that was released by a elementary school 95 miles away .The elevation where the balloon was found is 90 feet below my highest part of my farm .I did write back to the young person and told him what my favorite book was as he asked that question as part of the class project .We do not kill many bucks from that stand but my best friend's grandson did kill his first deer there .He killed his first buck the following season close to the highest elevation .

I learned about the 🎈 thing from Dan Infalt. Not sure if it's smoke and mirrors or legit. Found a few scouting public land recently and they were found close to bedding. I named one stand "balloon island' lol

I thought the balloon thing was bullshit too but I found out this past year that the theory is legit while hunting the mountains of West Virginias panhandle. I found a balloon on an east facing ridge about 400 from the top and within 30 yards I found bedding scapes and rubs. On the first day some dingdong walked in this area and jumped a nice buck out of the beds after I set up about 50yards down from the bedding.

What do you recommend for predators on the property. I have 30 acres in northwest Arkansas. The area is full of wildlife like hogs, deer, turley, ext. The there are cattle ranchs on all sides of property but no houses or human activity at night. There are large packs of coyotes that have killed 3 deer just since deer season ended. I have shot 2 coyotes but I found the 4 deer dead today and seen some of the attack on trail camera. I don't want to trap cause I'm worried of catching a other animals and I hate to keep shooting coyotes at night cause I worried of running deer of the property. Any thing you can suggest i would greatly appreciate.

The premise as others have stated are wind tunnels and bucks tend to prefer those areas for increased security. And I get that theory, makes perfect sense. However the balloon thing is crazy. So many variables including the trees and brush. Where the balloon gets punctured, weather conditions and directions that particular day.

seems like you would have to wait til the sun comes up so the air is already switched to uphill flow. If you get into a stand there and sit the evening and the air is still, it will start flowing down as soons as the sun goes down, but then you hate to get out of a stand in prime time. Seems like there is no perfect setup
