Sad to see this series end. I was really enjoying the videos. Please go back again Al! On board footage would be cool but the behind the scenes stuff is awesome. Sign me the hell up for some raffle tickets! Just make them available online so I can buy some please.
Wow - thanks for sharing what goes through the noggin before a race like the TT. I could tell you were going over it in your mind at that moment. That some real shit there..Also I want to work with your mechanic, he has more bike knowledge in his pinky than I have in my whole body..great piece..now get your toss on..
I’ve always never been afraid to try anything in life and would never back down from anyone……..went to the TT and after seeing the first bike go down bray hill ………….fuck that, it’s FU##IN MENTAL! Truly mental!
Sorry mate, I wasn't aware of the engine issues you had when we were chatting about this over the weekend at Wilton Mill. Looking forward to seeing you take care of that 'unfinished business' next summer.
Its the same for the Gumball Rally in the US. There are some companies that own the rights to distribute the footage. im guessing its the same thing here. The folks behind the TT will have it available to download or to buy on their website a few weeks after the event is done.
Hang on... so if you're talented enough to get to ride the TT, have balls big enough to actually do it, film your own ride from your own bike, someone ELSE has the rights to that footage? What effin marketing moron made that deal, and how much of a kick-back did they get, I wonder? Shocked by that :(
Stuff like that is hardly shocking. It's the same for MotoGP, F1, FIFA/UEFA-tournaments etc. North One Television has the contract for the production, sales and distribution of the Isle of Man TT Races. They basically own all race-footage. Duke Marketing is managing programme distribution outside the UK, American and Australian markets. I guess 44Teeth could buy the rights for the on-board-footage for a couple of grands - or maybe North One TV would allow them to post it on TH-cam for free for marketing purposes.
Im afraid that the way it is now with TT, most rights now owned by film companies etc. Going to be worst next year when its run by a corporate company, who will want to make as much money out of it as they can :(
Good morning Alastair and Baron. Question. Is there a onboard lap of Alastair on the TT? I wait for weeks of one of this videos. Would be extreme cool.
***** I watch nearly all videos but sadly im not english and sometimes i dont get all waht you say. But to the rights again. If you film with your own camera and make your own footage they can forbid to upload on your own channel?
North One Television (television production company) owns the rights for ALL TT-footage. 44Teeth can't use their own on-board-footage unless they make a deal with North One or Duke Marketing (not sure who is in charge).
Fantastic! If you need a whip-round for funding I'm sure a lot of us would chip in. Need to get my 899 back to jhs, susp setup was awesome but want more :)
if the ports are too big on an engine all you really need to do is choke down the size of the exhaust pipe flange or intake flange respectively... NASCAR style restrictor plate just right on the port.
Missy Dee you aren't adding metal to the ports, the flanges are just not cut right :P you aren't changing the cc of the port or intake/exhaust from factory.. how can that be adding metal to it? Rules you read and rules you read between
OtisENGINEuity I get you, but through restricting the flow to &/or from the port would probably be deemed as being outside the rules when it comes to roadracing. It does seem like a daft bit of legislation that you can take away metal and not add it. I can understand that porting was initially allowed in order to increase gas flow (especially if many standard road engines were restricted by the diameter, shape and rough finish) - but I really don't see why these days they can't be optimised via employing a means of restriction. I'm as interested as you in finding out thw why's & wherefores though! ;-)
Missy Dee yeah well.. I'm seeing it as it specifially says you can't add metal to the ports, not the flanges or by making the hole through the gasket smaller... There's no actual rule against that so they can't yell at you about it... Sort of like trying to have a fish tank with local fish in California.. You have to learn how to read between the laws here because they're so garbled.
@@Mowgli546 that’s not true, during practice laps the road is closed to the public! The public can only go flat out on a very small part of the course!
Re-watching this after a long old time... What's the chances of you guys releasing the on board footage now? 4 years down the line. Or is it a political minefield still...?
I have the words "You feel most alive when only inches from death" tattooed on my arm. That is why we ride motorcycles. now everything in the modern, developed world is so safe we have to give ourselves a reason to risk it all, just for the sheer thrill of it
almost forgot that Al did the bloody TT. absolute legend!
Anyone who races in the TT is a hero, so your our hero...
I'd chuck in a $ or two to see some more TT coverage next year.
first you tube channel funded race team?? would be epic.. crowd funding
that would be pretty spectacular.
Virtu FA I'll race for it
do a go fund me.we 'll send you to the tt next year
clitauraus... sounds like a dinosaur
Clitaurasarus
id happily pay 10quid entry for a competition!

I would buy a ticket or 2 or 10. 110 mph next year ? maybe a pre race evacuation is in order for next year ?

Idk if I missed it but I would have loved to hear the sound
id buy a few tickets if you go down that route :D
I’ve always never been afraid to try anything in life and would never back down from anyone……..went to the TT and after seeing the first bike go down bray hill ………….fuck that, it’s FU##IN MENTAL! Truly mental!
What's that song at the start of the video....can't find that anywhere?
Raffle sounds a great idea, I know I'd buy a few tickets at least - and as someone else said, get a Kickstarter going and we'll send you to the TT!
Congrats on completing it mate.
Have you gone back to the TT or are you planning to go again ? And supertwin or ....
Hope you make it to TT races next year :)
looking forward to next year
Music at the beginning?
i would definitely buy a few of those tickets
Would you consider doing the Ulster or any of the Irish races now that you have sampled road racing?
Sorry mate, I wasn't aware of the engine issues you had when we were chatting about this over the weekend at Wilton Mill. Looking forward to seeing you take care of that 'unfinished business' next summer.
44teeth with 44,000 subs
DO THE COMPETITION.
FUCKING DO IT.
I would seriously start up that twin to hear it roar, and also to help me jizz.
I like the competition idea a lot.
Wow. Didn’t know all the rights on the “action” was so tightly controlled!
Epic that you did it man... epic.
Its the same for the Gumball Rally in the US. There are some companies that own the rights to distribute the footage. im guessing its the same thing here. The folks behind the TT will have it available to download or to buy on their website a few weeks after the event is done.
anybody knows the song playing on the radio at 11:42 ??
that's a lovely voice
Next to Me by Emeli Sandé
thank you m8
Where did you get the screen extension? Is it commercially available, or a one-off someone made?
Cheeky super sport ride for Al next year on the cards then
interesting hearing you say "how many subs have we got 40 odd thousand" 197k today
Lee Macfarlane so true but they’re totally worth it
so did you all sell the bike?
at what speed does the supertwin top out?
Hang on... so if you're talented enough to get to ride the TT, have balls big enough to actually do it, film your own ride from your own bike, someone ELSE has the rights to that footage? What effin marketing moron made that deal, and how much of a kick-back did they get, I wonder?

Is the intro music by cinematic orchestra?
i believe its by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Good morning Alastair and Baron. Question. Is there a onboard lap of Alastair on the TT? I wait for weeks of one of this videos. Would be extreme cool.
as you would have heard from watching the video... no. Sadly all rights are owned by big companies and we will be sued.

+BaronVonGrumble have a look into the rules of fair usage, I'm sure it's like you can use 10% of the content. 10% is better than 0%

Pikes Peak next?
Why didn't you go back ?
Wow been waiting time for this.....
Al you're the best...
What are the rules on tires at the TT? Why aren't these bikes running full slicks?
Only the superbikes can run slicks
Fantastic! If you need a whip-round for funding I'm sure a lot of us would chip in. Need to get my 899 back to jhs, susp setup was awesome but want more :)
I thought you needed to do qualify for the TT by doing a time during the Manx?
You do, unless you have roads or BSB experience...
Alright, so that really was his first time.
if the ports are too big on an engine all you really need to do is choke down the size of the exhaust pipe flange or intake flange respectively... NASCAR style restrictor plate just right on the port.
That's a sound idea there Otis - but it would probably be deemed as 'adding metal to the ports'( with regard to the current rules).
Missy Dee you aren't adding metal to the ports, the flanges are just not cut right :P you aren't changing the cc of the port or intake/exhaust from factory.. how can that be adding metal to it?

The 899 will shake itself to bits? What does it suppose to mean?
It's a twin. Twins vibrate
I would definitely buy a ticket as I sold my bike last year to start working for myself
Hey just wondered are you Barron vongrumble?
He surely is, yes.
Oosh you can see my legs outside at 9:55 ;)
if i put 50k into you guys can i have a ride around the TT?
The first week is practice week, the road is open to the public and go as fast as you want. Just bring your own bike
@@Mowgli546 that’s not true, during practice laps the road is closed to the public! The public can only go flat out on a very small part of the course!
How long my engine in TT survive? Few days? Few laps? That's so many miles on fully open throttle.
Would depend on the bike. The twin on the SFV650 Gladius and SV650 is almost indestructible.
The chance to win a TT bike? I'd buy a couple of tickets for that :-)
7:36 erm... is he happy to see us or? even worst, why did i see that???
Good idea on the raffle tickets. You'd easily sell enough IMO. Fingers crossed you can make this happen :) Congrats on a successful TT.
is there any footage of the actual racing??
Ty Donnelly did you watch the video
I'd do 10$ contest for sure. That's value right there.
mayor respect for Al to compete in at the TT.
I never was or will be in the situation to do so. Besides the money, I don't have the balls...
