- Last week, outgoing Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith decided it was in his and his school's best interest to show everyone that THE Ohio State University is still THE softest program in college football. Smith said there should be an asterisk next to Michigan's three wins over the Buckeyes, highlighting that even he apparently has no idea why his team keeps losing, despite consistent offseason championships.*
The fanbase is taking heed and continues to have a daily meltdown on social media, too. Why they should get themselves together instead of going full Memento every single day when it comes to the Wolverines.

Michigan defeated 3 top 5 teams at the end of the season and there was no sign stealing at that late stage. They also beat a top ten Penn State and without Jim Harbaugh I might add.
Those teams only had a few weeks maybe a little over a month to change all their calls, and they had no idea which ones UM knew. Jim was also present for practice every week after suspension so Moore just ran his scheme.
I'm all for the rivalry being back however, UM always acting like the "Michigan man" is superior is hilarious. Not only is your most famous NFL player known for cheating but so is your program now! The only reason SCUM is not getting grilled in the media is because of the homers put in place like Adam Schefter and Rich Eisen. They were too busy glazing a JJ in an overrated QB class, talking about "breaking records".
Have fun because I know the NCAA and the BIG have a record of BIG teams getting shafted for stuff that had way less of an impact on the actual game. Now if UM was an SEC school I would agree that you should probably feel safe, don't be naïve though. They wanted your coach gone over a recruiting violation, when you hear nothing is when you should be the most worried.

Thank you for this comment. As a Michigan fan who has been on the losing end of this rivalry for most of the past 20 years, it is good to see it even out just a little bit. I actually yearn for the days where this rivalry pretty much gets back to 50/50. I think that’s what we all want, deep down-a great, competitive rivalry. And I hope that’s what we get going forward. Ohio State is an elite program. As a Michigan fan I must admit that over the last 50 years they have been generally better than that team up north. They may well win the national championship this year. Time will tell. Go Blue!

It’s almost amazing that Harbaugh only went 5-4 vs Sparty. Of course, one of those wins was the insane “trouble with the snap” game, and one was in the ill-fated 2020 season, and another was controversial, too (Hutch’s TD that was taken away)-but still. I mean, I’m happy he left with a winning record against them, but it should’ve been far more lopsided.

Native Detroiter here. Also active duty military coming up on 20 years now. I can tell you, albeit anecdotally, that the Buckeyes are fine playing well and losing big games as long as Michigan plays worse. If you want proof of this just visit their podcasts. They’ve got it in their (buck) nutty skulls that Michigan’s ceiling this year is 9-3, and they’re more confident and happier at that than they are at their own prospects.
Their worst fans are #1 at being worst fans, so at least they get to win something there. Lol.

It’s not random at all. Military members move a lot. I’ve lived in Michigan, California, Texas, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Michigan and Ohio State enjoy nationwide fanbases, so my experience of the respective fanbases isn’t limited to just the states of Michigan and Ohio.

As a Michigan fan, my theory based on no concrete evidence. When ohio was beating us all those seasons, they had a few good teams. But there were season when I was like, there's no way they're that much better than us. I couldn't prove they were cheating, but the on field talent was pretty equal for the most part. The reason for UM's three recent OSU wins is simple. UM has outplayed OSU on the lines of scrimmage. These games are won or lost there. Woody and Bo would both tell you that. Having been outplayed along both the OL and DL for the past three years, OSU has attempted to fix this issue. With the game being played in Cbus this year, I like OSU's chances. Also, OSU did have a QB problem last year and UM did not. Ryan Day probably regrets choosing McCord over McCarthy in recruiting but this is water-over-the-dam. UM will struggle this year with a harder schedule. I see at least three losses. OSU has three difficult games and the one in Cbus is the easiest. PSU in a Happy Valley whiteout and Oregon at Autzen will be harder. They could lose both and still make the playoffs with two losses.

Is anyone surprised that Gene Smith would be classless? He is the athletic director for the dirtiest program in the Big 10. Every other major program has done a least what Stallions is accused of, and most of them have done worse. Keep your ears open for a scandal at Ohio State this upcoming season, because there are already rumblings. I’m not gonna go into details because I want to wait for more facts, but it’s along the same lines as what they are calling us cheaters for, but you know when it comes out with them, they’re gonna say that everybody does it, But they’re still gonna think we deserve to be punished for it because they don’t think they can beat us on the field anymore. This is like the buckeyes of the 90s where they would come into the game ranked in the top three, but by the end of the game, John Cooper would have that baffled look on his face just like Ryan Day has had the last three years lol!
The fact that the ohio fanbase and buckeye channels are all still talking about this constantly is a huge win for michigan. As much as they claim it doesn't, this stuff gets into the locker room and effects the players; these are 20 year old college kids afterall. And you delusional xichigan fans want to try and make the case that one had nothing to do with the other. That the cheating had no impact.

This show was horrible. I must be honest, I may be a biased OSU fan.. but this entire episode was very smug.
First- you act as though all fans of your rival team are whiners, sore losers, and low football IQ. You are picking out the annoying and loud fans of one of the largest fan bases in the world and judging them all. Every team has bad fans. Yes, even Michigan. In fact, when I was 15 I wore an OSU jersey to a Michigan vs western Michigan game. I was heckled, has items thrown at me and a full grown man spit on my back. They exist everywhere. It’s life.
Second- I don’t care about the Michigan “cheating scandal”. But you’re right, nobody could ever possibly know more than you! Michigan beat OSU fair and square last season. But let’s admit that knowing if a team will run or throw on 3rd and 4 a couple times a game is a huge deal. A game can come down to a handful of plays. I care more that OSU had to give back a win vs Michigan because three players sold their own personal belongings for free tattoos. You tell me which infraction is worse.
Third- no, OSU fans were not talking up McCord last season. Everyone was skeptical and nobody likes him. Yes, McCord did lose that Michigan game. He gifted Michigan a free TD to start the game by throwing a pass directly to the CB at the OSU 7 yard line. The final drive OSU was moving and he throws another pass directly to Michigan.
Lastly- saying OSU can’t see past their nose and only cares about recruiting and off field wins is absolutely absurd! How did OSU rattle off 15 wins in 16 years!? Michigan has won once in the shoe since 2000. OSU has played in more national championship games the last 20 years than Michigan has major bowl wins.
