    Good progress! If we may offer a little tip on decals for you and your viewers.... Before application, mix washing up liquid with water 1:75 brush or sponge it on the hull infront of the decal as you put it on. This stops the adhesive sticking until you squeegee the water mix out and finally place the decal. It remains movable until squeegeed and a quick rub over with a cloth. The decal will float and bend to your hull shape using this method. Any tiny bubbles will disappear over night. Hope this helps. Sail Safe guys. Ant, Cid and the pooch crew.

      Great advice. I think my lack of sleep got the better of me. We will lock that in when we put the new name on the stern. Cheers for the support guys. Much love.

    I’ve actually used the McGuires product before. I was pleased with its performance. Cleaning and polishing was always a job I enjoyed mostly from getting to see the end result. Zephyr looks amazing 😊

      It was so satisfying to see the transformation. Lots of work, but well worth it. I'd use that brand again for sure. 👍

    I bought that same Makitta when I moved on my bought and did my 42' boat "ONCE"....then I realized that $800 to $1000 at the time was well worth it!

      Haha. It's certainly a lot of work. But it was fun to see the transformation.

    FYI when you're buffing and polishing with a power buffer you better off if you have access to a compressor so you can blow out your wool pads you want them clean or you can scratch your Finnish

    Fantastic job! What about the bottom of the hull and cleaning the propeller while you on the hard?

      @SailingZephyr  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bottom was just washed only. Anti-foul was in great shape. See previous video for the propeller. 👍

    Great job, now come and do my boat. How about a little grey paint or marker for the splice? Or, I would just wait until it get's damaged, vinyl taped boot stripes do not last long.

  • @R.E.HILL_
    @R.E.HILL_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The splice.... you overlap and then cut through both layers using an exacto knive or something similar sharp..

    • @SailingZephyr
      @SailingZephyr  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhhh! That's such a good idea. I blame lack of sleep. Cheers for the tip. 👍

    Have you contacted your credit card company about the chart plotter? If the transaction was fraudulent, the seller sold a refurbished device as new, the credit card company might get your money back or negotiate a settlement. The length of time since purchased might be an issue...

    • @SailingZephyr
      @SailingZephyr  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No dice unfortunately. We just have to roll with it for now. Maybe one day we can save enough for new B&G. Stay safe.

    Well I've always been in favor of not skimping in your tools your better off buying a more expensive higher quality tool once then a cheaper one that you'll have to replace several times over your life time and Makita build a quality power tool I personally prefer Porter Cable but Makita is a good tool
