You cant teach manhood using dolls. There's nothing about the masculine psyche and energy that can be in any way modeled through the use of dolls. The dolls image to the child will always reflect the personality or conscious of the particular child who's playing with it at the time. You cant teach manhood that way. Manhood has to be modeled by a man. Not a woman. Not his peer who is also a child. The energy and behavior of manhood is a socialization process because every society defines what the definition of manhood is for their needs. Being a MALE can partially be explained through the use of dolls because thats just anatomy and bodily functions that can in fact be mechanized as a interactive doll with sounds and motion. But manhood is a social construct that goes deeper and broader than mere maleness which is a biological term. Give the boy a pet goldfish or puppy to teach discipline but dolls cannot be helpful for boys other than being an action figure toy to engage is imagination.

I am a great admirer and love my Sista Shaharzad and agree with most of what she says but Samuels, her 'Spiritual Son'? Neither Samuels, Jason Black's The Business Channel, or the Manosphere is about Nation Building or centered in the Black Family. Yes, there are a lot of things to be sorted out - health, roles, wealth, on code, self-interests - but labeling some of our women as 'Throwaways' because they made poor male choices or mistakes while referring to themselves as 'High Valued Men' with the expertise to grade all women, is just as 'Sick' and divisive as the Divesters and Black Feminists. I see no value in Samuels and Jason's brilliant political analysis should be centered on just that. The latter is handicapped by being wounded by his early experience with women and his 'Talented Tenth' Elitist, Pro Capitalist orientation. In spite of this, he does some great work every morning and on weekends.

Ever since I saw her on Donahue show in 1992 Ive always enjoyed her perspectives and unique way of presenting things in a blue collar straight forward manner. This is particularly in context of black American male/female relationships in a racist society. Now she has other perspectives about things outside of that black male/female dynamic that are interesting to hear but I cant too much gel with like her ideas about black boys should play with dolls to learn manhood. Thats her being sincere and honest but where her understanding is limited because she's not a man and her outsiders view of manhood and maleness exposes her limitations of her perspectives. But nonetheless I enjoy her thoughts because I know it comes from a good place.

This is what's missing from mainstream black media today. Back in the day on Robert Johnson's BET and local cable black topical shows we had several of the intelligent discussions and topics black america actually cared about, even Donahue and geraldo got in the act, now we have the breakfast club and other nonsense who subject of black topic is about whose got the biggest bum between cardi and nikki. Even the ones who pretend to be about black topics are just mouthpieces of the democrat party or masking white liberal or white conservative values and talking points as being black. The true black voice is no longer represented. Elder Rock Newman is the only one continuing real topics about black america and the rest of the diaspora reflecting all sides of Black american society.

The Black Woman's guide to understanding the Black Man would have been more in depth had Shaharazad not had to battle so much to defend her first book -

Archeologists can discover African Women's bones that are 2 million and 4 million years old but cannot admit that there was an African Man with her. WE make a Family.
    Excellent Interview.

The honorable Elijah Muhammad said separation is the best and only solution. I believe him to be correct. If we could just get away from our open enemies I think we would see progress. Although the first separation we need is mentally.

The greatest thing any individual can do is work on self-improvement. I have learned that I have to take my focus off of exterior situations and focus on my inner maturity. That is not to say that I don't care about my people, however I understand that until each of us does the individual work, the collective will continue to remain the same.
Therapy and counseling are necessary for our community. If we can heal the family then we can heal the collective. Change first starts with personal responsibility, acknowledging where we were wrong and doing what's right. Doing what's right individually will affect everyone collectively.

While I vehemently disagree with some of sista Shahrazad's rhetoric, I always watch her interviews whenever they show up on my algorithm. It's important to get dissenting opinions to keep your own ideals up to date and unwavering. Unfortunately a lot of her beliefs are Niegreau centered and it's apparent to anyone who studies the history of the colonized African. But I agree with her on a few things so there's no shade or hate for my good sis. 😅
