Yep, happy to do: The guitarist with the red rose on her head and the Zemeitas "Flappy Pigeon" guitar Miku Kobato. Miku is the rhythm guitarist, primary lyricist, backup (and sometimes lead vocalist) and the band's founder. Most American fans refer to as Miku, but the Maids call her Kobato, which means small pigeon in Japanese. By the way, Cluppo is another name for a small pigeon in Japanese. Miku considers herself a reincarnated 810 year pigeon. Her eccentric personality is endearing to fans. She ends EVERY sentence with "po" which she refers to as pigeon-speak.When she founded the band, Miku had in mind her roll as the lead vocalist. but soon realized her voice didn't have the power needed for their hard rock musical style, so she recruited Saiki. The band's management company said the band needed a rhythm guitarist. So Miku took on the roll. She had never played a musical instrument in her life. Kanami volunteered to be her sensei (teacher) and that has seemed to work out pretty damned well. Kanami Tono, is the lead guitarist, composes the music for the group. She was a classically trained pianist before she fell in love with the guitar as her instrument of choice. Her guitar idols are Larry Carlton and Carlos Santana. Akane Hirosi, is the band's drummer extraordinaire, her amazing skills on drums have even inspired Jimmy Page to asked to be introduced to her and praise her for her skills. MISA (no last name given) is the band's bassist. In my opinion, she and Akane make up the most intuitively brilliant "rhythm sections" in rock. Their lead vocalist is Saiki Atsumi. Saiki is the youngest member of the band and is one of the most dynamic and charismatic frontwomen of any woman in J-Rock. In twelve years together intact,(almost unheard of in the music industry) these Maids have formed a group that is incredibly talented, incredibly cohesive, incredibly professional and impressively prolific in their musical output. They are more than a band, they have become a family who are sisters to each other.
▪Miku Kobato aka Small Pigeon/Koba/Kuruppo/Cluppo - red rose: Rhythm guitarist, backing vocals, main lyricist. She is the founder of the band and their PR machine, the heart of the band. Allways full of energy! Calling herself "the little pigeon or just the pigeon." ▪Saiki Atsumi aka Ice Queen/Sai-Chan/Sensei (Teacher) - blue rose: The lead singer and lyricist. Her word is final on whether the song is ready for performance or not. The girls call her the "Ice Queen". ▪Kanami - White Headgear: Lead guitarist. The solo and riff master! She is seen as the main composer, but the other girls add their stuff as well. Sometimes she gives the other girls a challenge for a song. She's a shy rock star in private but a monster on stage. Two completely different personalities. They call her "the natural airhead/genius." ▪MISA aka Barefoot Assassin/MISA-MISA-MISA - almost always dressed in black: She is a virtuoso bassist. Very unconventional in her playing and you will never hear her just playing root notes and following the drummer. She's a sort of hybrid of bassist and guitarist. She's called "barefoot assassin." ▪Akane Hirose aka Gorilla/Ah-Chan/Tiny Hat - in the beginning she wore a small hat but today she isn't. A drum maestro. Her fills and feels elevate every song. Truly a master of odd drum beats and staying in the pocket. The "mother" of the band and some kind of band manager, as she is the most structured of them all. She likes bananas so when she's not playing you can often see her eating one. For that alone, the band calls her "the Gorilla".
🦁 Another great reaction to this amazing band. Thank you for keeping the Maids in rotation! I’m a little late to the party, but here’s everything you need: Miku Kobato, rhythm guitar and vocals (Zemaitis) main lyricist and band founder Kanami Töno, lead guitar, keyboards and main songwriter (PRS) Akane Hirose, drums (Tama) MISA, bass (Black Cloud) Saiki Atsumi, lead vocals You asked for next song recommendations. For a live performance, my favorite (and the favorite of many fans) is “Moratorium” For the musician in you? “From Now On,” music video You can’t go wrong with Band Maid. They have more legitimate banger hits than any 10 random bands combined.
Cluppo is pronounced like Clue. (Cloo-Po). He name is Miku Kobato. Kobato means Little Pigeon in Japanese. And, in Japan, pigeons don't Coo. The Kruppo (Crew-Po). And when you transliterate Kruppo it becomes Cluppo. Lead is Kanami. Lead Singer is Saiki (Psyche). On Bass is MISA. Finally on drums is Akane (Ahh-Kah-Nay).
@@rockyetsx70 I just watched their 2022 Boston performance video again after a long time. I was so excited when our maids went on their U.S. tour in 2022. Back then, fans were uploading immersive live videos to TH-cam every day, and I spent countless sleepless nights searching for and binge-watching their videos. Oh no, here come the tears again for some reason.
Her name is Miku Kobato or if you were in Japan surname first Kobato Miku. She's been a Zemiatis Guitar Brand Ambassador for years. In this performance she's playing her Iconic Custom Shop AMF 24 Ace's n Eights guitar, which was Vintage Band-Maid. She currently plays her Limited Run (Only 80 produced) Signature Edition Zemaitis "Flappy Pigeon" that she helped in the design creation of. Proud to flex that I own both guitars 😊 Although they possess the same hardware, they have two completely different Souls as far as sound. The Ace's n Eights is definitely more Grunty while the Flappy has a bit more Twang to it. Kanami Tono (Lead Guitarist) was just last month gifted by PRS with her own Signature Edition. Its a Custom 24-08 base hybrid with PRS's 85/15 pickups. Only 200 were produced and sold out World Wide in a few days to the tune of about $6,500.00 US give or take. And its sooooo Beautiful! She is the first Japanese Guitarist male or female to be honored in such a way.
I see a bunch of great comments introducing the band. I do want to add that it is fairly common for people speaking Japanese to pronounce their letter L as a letter R sound. Miku Kobato (rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, band founder) pronounces her side project Cluppo as her trademark Kuruppo (ker-ruuu-po) when she is doing interviews about it.. Almost every person reacting to Cluppo pronounces it as (clue-po) or in your case (cluh-po) which is evidently not the proper pronunciation according to Miku.
I have no idea where you live, whether you have family living with you, or if you even have a passport-in other words, I know nothing about your personal situation. So what I’m about to suggest is a completely irresponsible invitation: "Why not visit Japan, go to a concert of famous female bands like BAND-MAID, check out the next generation of musicians at live music venues/clubs in places like Shibuya, Shinjuku, or Shimokitazawa, and try authentic sushi and ramen?" You only live once. With the dollar strong against the yen right now, this might be the perfect chance to visit Japan! 😉

Hello, wanna check out the kids of a family band called Missioned Souls who did an awesome cover of Band Maid song Bestie !!❤❤
