What another cracking instalment Ed mate! Some amazing land you have there, with very kind soil! I've yet to find a decent sized Roman with any detail on it, so they were my favourite for sure....although the cut half was a cracker too! Lots of wonderful coins & artefacts my friend! Enjoyable as ever! Hope the return to work has been a calm one! Take care mate
Thanks Marcus, I was a bit naughty and rubbed up the chunky Roman to see what it was and turns out it was Vespasian form the 1st century so makes sense why it was so chunky. I do love to find Roman coins, it always boggles my mind how old they are! I hope all is well with you and good luck when you get out again 🙂👍
Y'all, subscribe to his channel!! Of all the detectorists channels I watch, yours is the most enjoyable! No hype, no click bait, no incessant chattering, no beep beep beep of the detector...just plain fun, with a great positive attitude, happy and always smiling! I always look forward to seeing the new treasures you find!
Cheers Ray! I am having some great luck recently but I also think it is part down to moving to a more active area historically so hopefully it will continue 🙂👍
Really great hammered coin finds. The old buckle was a nice find also. The Roman was excellent also. A great field to detect, Ed! All the best to you in 2023. Cheers mate! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
Thanks mate, I have quite enjoyed finding the Georgians from here as they turn out quite nicely, some of the best I have found in ages and always like them 👍
You really find the most amazing stuff! And the coins seem to be coming out of that field in nice shape. I'm looking forward to watching many more successful hunts there!
@@VintageParagonUk my daughter and I have just bought a metal detector but don’t know how you get permission for fields , we live in Sussex near old Monasteries.
@@annenewton5403 the best way is to knock on some doors and just ask, I look on Google earth for houses with barns and drop a pin and plan a route around a few of them, sometimes the people you talk to will know who own what and you can kinda investigate, once I went to about 4 houses following the breadcrumbs of what people said who owns land 😂 just a quick introduction and be polite and you will be surprised that many people are interested or it is a quick no and move onto the net one 👍 side-by-side maps is also a great resource as the old maps usually have farm names on there
This sure is a wonderful field Ed with enough to keep you busy for ages.Lovely finds and so interesting that they covered such a time span. It’s good to see you back with us and with lots to look forward to.😊
Wow - I missed this one! What a great little patch you found - lots of giggling is a good indicator 😅! That buckle with the hook was intriguing 🤔... hope you got something nice and hot after that excursion ☕. -- Sherbs 👋 lol
Oh this feels so long ago now but a bit weird in a way as I was almost next door to this place a couple of days ago for the first time, how did you know?? 🤔😅
My previous comment was not meant to your channel, TH-cam jumps further and added the comment to your video😂 sorry for that . 😊 Nice field good work mate
How hard is it to get permision to metal detect? I come from Norway and found hundreds of viking/middle ages artifacts, but would be cool to try it in uk too :)
Some people really struggle for permission, it depends on the area I suppose. I have moved about quite a lot and always find somewhere to go but I do knock on a lot of doors 😂 good luck 👍

Thanks, hopefully it will continue 😁👍
😊I didn’t know romans had raised emperors on them. I liked the unusual buckles you found too. A great day Ed.
Thanks Anthony, the early Romans were quite chunky, maybe they were a bit big headed 😂
@@VintageParagonUk 😂
Really nice old finds! Love seeing the old coins. Well done! Suzy
Thanks Suzy, it was a nice selection again 🙂

Happy New Year from Alberta, Canada. Glad to see you back out on the hunt😁❄️🇨🇦
Thanks Donna, I hope you are having a great start to 2023 🙂👍
Really enjoy your channel,in comparison I get really excited if I find anything older than Canadian coins from the 1980’s 🤣
Thanks so much, we are lucky to have so much history here but that is why I also like to share it ☺️
Fascinating! Are you able to caption the images at the end, so that non-experts can understand what you’ve found?
That is a great idea, I try to add information as I go along but in the clean up would be useful too, thanks for that 🙂👍
Yes that was enjoyable, funny how a Roman coin comes up better than a Georgian 🤔 Guess those Romans knew their stuff . 👍🇨🇦
Thanks Steve, those Romans were very smart, I think the Georgians cut a few corners in their production 😂
My previous comment was not meant to your channel, TH-cam jumps further and added the comment to your video😂 sorry for that . 😊 Nice field good work mate

Great finds again Ed , love the lion heart cut half especially, Romans were a bonus lol

Wow brother cracking hunt cracking find right wears my metal detecter lol I eont out now legend
Cheers mate, it was a banging day, I need to get out it has been ages 😁👍
Please excuse my ignorance, but what are Jettons? Is it a make, a button, a coin? Another great video and nice to see better weather!
Thanks Gill, they are kinda like coins but I think they would be closer to something like a poker chip, more of a token 👍
Just found your channel uve got another sub 👍
Hello and Welcome, I hope you enjoy my videos 🙂
Dodgy willy lol
😂 you don't want that
