i realized while making bigger pieces than just my normal doodles and i started taking art more seriously that little things make such a huge difference. especially when drawing hands. tension point are so important!! i’ll me more aware of them and keep studying!
Awesome tip to make your linework more professional and readable. I would love to see some longer, more in-depth videos as well. Anyway keep up the great work; I'm looking forward to your next videos :)
Great video. I had noticed that some of my drawings feel indeed more interesting when there is diversity of lines and shapes, even if other fundamentals are not good enough sometimes. Presentation really does help covering mistakes
This is soo beautiful, I admire that hand you drew and this advice really is making my drawings look more alive Truly Dynamic poses drawn by one's own self adds a life to the drawings Stay peachy 🩷
It took a while, but i think I've found a tutor who i can actually understand the lessons from Clear depiction, showing and telling clearly, not saying something and moving on w/o explaining Thank you, subscribed
Ha! Basically is to have good line! Which is why Manga can appear so good even when anatomy doesn't make sense. Linework. Wanna practice linework? Pracrice traditional East Asian brush drawings or Chinese Calligraphy. Or Sumi-e drawings.
I'm not drawing much with fountain pens, but! On the tension points you can draw a bit slower to make the ink spread more (or you can draw a line few times to make this spot thicker). And with relief points I'd suggest to just make a fast and very light strokes and you'll have a thin and light weighted line!
I wish there would be a good tutorial about how to use a graphic tablet, very simple, no XP-Pen Screens for over 4k euros just drawing on a cheap graphic tablet.
@@ArseniKatsela I do scratchy drawings like yours but I can't seem to move to the next process of cleanup. My lines aren't flowy and line weight is impossible. Any advice. TY
We were taught how to write at school. And most of the time we start to apply it to drawing. Then we got wrist pains, short, wobbly and inaccurate lines. Thats because we are drawing from the wrist (by only moving our hand and resting wrist on the surface). I'd suggest to try to draw from the shoulder (when your full arm is engaged). In that way you can do free movements easily and your lines are becoming better. Also make sure not to make those movements slow, because if you try to do any line slow it's much harder to make it not wobble. It can be hard at the first time, but when you'll used to it - your lines will become much better! Hope it helps :)
bro, you are so good at it! i love the way you draw and it helped me too! what site do you use for drawing? and do you use any grafic board? (sorry for the bad english i am italian)
Thank you :) In this video I'm drawing on Apple IPad Air 4th gen in Procreate app, but I'm also drawing on in Photoshop on PC with a regular drawing tablet! And don't worry, your English is good :)
I'm *thisss* close to giving a downvote, but you managed to skirt by whatever mental threshold I judge by. And whenever I give a downvote (or come close), I feel like you should know why, and maybe be able to improve. There's nearly a full *minute* of absolute fluff at the start -- you talking and even repeating info *about* the trick instead of actually *presenting* the trick. That's a third of the video, and even at 1.5 speed it felt boring, plodding (which is funny, given the principle presented in the video itself). This entire presentation could've been one, maybe one and a half minutes long with no loss of information or quality. So there's two ways to improve here. One is to make the shorter version: go straight into the topic, no excess fluff (maybe 5-15 seconds of intro, not most of a minute), get the message out the door, get it done. That could work. Or, conversely, provide a more rounded view of the topic. Still keep the opening very short -- especially on a short video, you don't want to waste the viewer's time -- but I would've appreciated some compare-and-contrast in the visuals as well as the spoken principle. Show a hand drawn without the principle *next to* a hand drawn *with* it. Show multiple types of drawing (perhaps a hand, a leg, a face, and a body) and how the principle works with each one. Stop the motion to point out the details and let the viewer actually appreciate them for a moment before the action starts up again. Being able to compare pictures side by side can make a huge difference in grasping the point being made. Good luck with your channel!

Do you have any tips for using tension and relief points when it comes to using fountain pens for traditional art ?
