Hi to Bob the director..has he got an official director chair yet?! You know..the ones like they have in the movies? Miss him lots but sending love, prayers and good vibes from across the pond. You're all so amazing 👏 ❤😊
This was an excellent video! I am a retired rehabilitation, nurse, and find this very beneficial. The other one I was thinking of I did not see in the video was standing behind the chair and just stepping back, holding onto the chair that stretches my back and brings my shoulder blades together. Thanks for all you do. Ron Pass RN
Thanks guys!! These are all very helpful!! And yes, it is certainly a gradual progression. Please send our love to Bob and let him know how very much he is missed :)
Doorway stretches help too when you do it regularly, along with practicing sweezing your shoulder blades together. Many Asian people walk with their hands behind their back as well which helps for good posture.
I find your videos to be so helpful. I’m trying my best to avoid neck surgery so I’m grateful for every little tidbit that I can glean from your videos.
I have had cervical fusion with 3 discs a few years ago. Right neck and should have always given me stiffness and tightness prior to and post surgery. These stretches are what I need. Thanks guys!
You mentioned watching tv while lying down. Along the same line is corrective vision, especially with eyeglasses. When wearing progressive lenses, it's often a challenge to get the focus right and sometimes it is easier to adjust my head angle than it is to adjust what I'm looking at. Getting the right lens prescription and single vision glasses for reading makes close work and reading much more comfortable. Lenses for computer screen distance can be a big help too.
This is so so important for me! Thanks to you all, I'm working on this every day. Getting better glasses also has been huge. I don't have to have that bad posture to find the reading spot in my lens! Big hello to Bob!
I love watching and learning stuff from you guys! I have cervical stenosis with radiculopathy and a neck hump. I have had 2 prior acdf surgeries but my pain lately is almost unbearable! I so appreciate all the techniques you provide so I can attempt to reverse some of these back and neck issues I accumulated throughout the years from doing hair dressing with poor posture. Thanks a bunch! Doctors are saying all I can do at this point is get the spinal cord stimulator inserted into my spine and or do physical therapy. Take care, Kelly
Is Bob no longer going to be on camera with Brad? I do know of his diagnosis, but he was on for several months, and now Brad is with Mike. I'm concerned and hope you will be updating us about Bob. I wish him well. ❤️
I just used to sleep on my back with no pillow underneath my head. It was on one side or the other for support, but never underneath my head. I’ve managed to make it to 41 with no neck hump- been doing these “pre-hab” exercises since my mid-late 20s. As a matter of fact my neck is so straight it looks awkward
I love sleeping with no pillow under the head, just one on the side for support. Recently i have to use a pillow bc of acid reflux. My spine does not like it!
Hello from Ireland. I love your utube clips and they are sooooo helpful. I think I have this hump thing in my neck. I have been having slight fuzzy moments ( bad description) but they're hard to describe. Anyway I've started to try and stretch. Hopefully the strange feeling will go away I notice it happens more when I'm at the table writing or reading so bad posture. Also I noticed my neck is strained when swimming 🏊♂️ or cycling. I am 65 but active. Hope Bob is doing ok. He's a great guy and very inspirational in how he is coping with his condition. ❤.
Mine is due to cervical kyphosis caused when an auto accident knocked my neck out of alignment. You don't have to start this with just bad or lazy posture.
. I reposition my shoulders at every stoplight when im driving and every commercial when i watch tv. It becomes automatic after a while My mom is 91 and shaped like an S. It really throws her balance off. Scared me so im wanting to correct neck hump and posture. Thanks guys!
The pillow thing… huge problem for me… i find the need to sleep upright d/t gastric issues… therefor i am not sure what my head is doing when i ‘zonk’ out 😳… i alternate and apply most of the exercises you and Mike demonstrated. I like this newer video👍
With all the wonderful stretches and exercises you have taught us, I would really like to know how much time you yourselves spend doing them, and which ones do you do without fail every day?
Thank you for this helpful and timely video! I didn’t know this was a problem until my chiropractor pointed it out and recommended some exercises. And I will add your suggested exercises to my routine!
I find putting my head back onto the headrest while driving my car improves my posture. I am often in the car for 20 to 30 minutes do I get a good long stretch.
I have a slight dowager hump and hide it with my hair. Os it possible to eliminate it altogether or is this a surgical thing only? I've been doing the chin tucks for months but haven't seen any change. I'll try some of the other exercises you've demonstrated here ❤Thank you❤
Thanks guys! I really need this good info, as my neck hump is quite bad, I wonder if it's why I get headaches sometimes and feel tense across the shoulders..
I have a collapsed thoracic spine from being on Prednisone long term, is there any hope for me? I have gone to PT for years and can't seem to strengthen it. Thank you
As a phsiotherapist my self i use the lying passive stretch exercises for my elderly clients alot, i use them as a 5 min rest in between other exercises or sets.
I am 58 and discovered last last year I have a major hump. Uh , no one told me. I have always worked with my art and then crafts looking down and obviously I have been doing it wrong. We have a home weight lifting thingy, more for the arms than legs, would that help the shoulders and this hump?
My cues are "chin up" (not back, not forward -up) and "ribcage small" (large ribcages have no mobility and lead to rib flare and flatback posture). You guys are right on the shoulders/low back.
Do bad arthritic knees prevent someone from standing straight correctly? Locking my knees really hurts and they are bent when standing still to keep the pain away, so I am hunching neck forward. I find I can't look up at sky anymore either.

Thanks. I've had neck hump for years. I've been to chiropractors and PTs many times; none has ever pointed it out or offered help. I had a PCL C3,4,5,6. Does that matter?
I have been using a half foam roller underneath my shoulder blades, suggested by my physical therapist. I want to try that foam pad you had, where do I get one?
I'll try some of these, but do you have suggestions for sleeping with a neck hump when you have acid reflux? I can't sleep with only a thin pillow and need to have 2 so I won't wake up with a sore throat from stomach acid burning my throat all night...
I have reflux as well. I ended up putting risers under the head of the bed to raise the whole head while keeping the bed itself flat. It has worked well now for several years. I had to start off slowly, raising it by degrees. My body was actually a bit sore for the first week from the change in gravity pull, even though it was slight. But it has kept me off reflux medication.
What do you guys think about TLSO Thoracic Full back braces? They're supposed to help Kyphosis (upper back hump). Is there any brace you might suggest that can help keep us upright even when we forget about our posture as we go through our daily lives with screaming kids, work deadlines and especially driving in the car when you want to push your head forward to get a better view as you stressfully drive in city traffic? It's super tough to think about keeping good posture once you start dealing with basic stress during an average day. I simply forget about posture as I deal with one issue after another during the day.
I developed a hump after many years behind a sewing machine and a decades long career in alterations and sewing. At 40, I hit a wall with RA and Fibromyalgia and excruciating pain. Meds helped me gain weight (yay, not) and the hump became more pronounced. Will these exercises help me get rid of it or will the weight gain be a hindrance??
I love your videos! 😊❤️ I saw that some of the exercises were the same as used for muscle tightness in the shoulders and back area. That's what I'm using and it's helping my issues. I'm debating about getting a posture corrector support to wear at home. I'm realizing that when I'm on my computer or my phone, I'm causing myself neck and shoulder issues. Do those work?
