I used on my inflatable. Mine is 12' 6" and I did it 75 cm from center to center fin and this was not far enough forward for my liking. I would put it 90cm from the center of the back fin if I did it again so I can stand more in the middle of the board. Also of note is that it will peel off an inflatable board within 1 to 2 sessions at the front and back. To stop this I used 6 pvc 4"x3" patches 1 on front and back and 4 on the sides. the patches on the sides seem to be a waste as the front and back will keep it from peeling just fine. You can get away with a session without the pvc patches and just restick it on after but the peeling parts will drag hard in the water.

How do you decide its 75 cm from the back fin? Does board length matter?

    • @Pensivata
      @Pensivata 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Yes Wyatt - my SUP is longer than yours - does the 75 cms still apply? cos i reckon the centre of my weight might be more forwards than yours, given that the centre of gravity is also forward. Or is the 75cms related to the price of fish or something..?

75cm from center of box on all size boards? You are putting it on a 11' board... I have a 9'9" board and a 7'4" Sup, it doesn't seem right that they would go the same distance on all 3 boards

Could this be attached to a inflable sup?

Yes, if you use vinyl cement on both the sticky patch and the board. Isups are usually longer as well so id put it a tad closer to the middle. Slightly behing where the center handle is located is good.

I just mounted this item on my 11.6ft hard board. The printed centre lines on the product were about half a centimetre off. I had to draw new lines on the products sticky flaps.
I’m also unsure if 75cm distance centre to centre from the rear fin box is applicable to all SUP boards length variations. Nothing about that in the printed on the box manual and here.
A bit disappointing that the uploader is not engaging with his audience here to create some clarity.
Apart of that I’ll ride it tomorrow for the first time.
Good luck everyone. Hope it wasn’t wasted money.

yeah just make sure to use some pvc patches that you would use to repair a hole in the inflatable and glue it down properly like you're repairing a hole to the front side and back side of the supwinder

Hi I've just purchased a used 2021 SUP board which the previous owner had stuck on one of these SLINGSHOT SUP Winder. If I wanted to, would I be able to remove this stuck-on keel box or is it on there permanently?

Hi .... I'm paddling a 14ft Downwind SUP board from ECS Australia and am starting my "wing journey" with this cool product. Do you think that you would get better performance on a large board like mine by fitting two Slingshot Supwinder fins? I have seen a few "learner" wing boards with two fins and they suggest its a good stability/tracking solution
Would be interested in your thoughts about two fins vs single fin and whether you have tried this ???
    All the best

Question- I want to use this on a SUP that has a mount for a windsurfer style mast and boom- this would put the center of effort farther forward than the wing a person would be holding - should I mount the upwinder farther forward ?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can comment on the SUPwinder’s durability. I’m a bit worried about trying the fin now because I saw this other video and the guy had mentioned that the base (sticky part) of the SUPwinder had already cracked after the 5th time using it. He also did mention that he was wing surfing in choppy conditions. Therefore, is the SUPwinder really only meant for flatter water?

    • @jordanhaldorson9786

I've taken it into rough waters, one day a tornado was only a mile from me. I'm a heavy rider at 140kg and in 25 mph winds (7m wing) and 2' side wakes this thing has survived many sessions without any issue, although the base seems a bit more loose than my other fin box, however this could be due to my weight.

He said that you should place the sticky piece 75cm starting from the middle of the center SUP fin but was wondering which end of the sticky piece should be placed so that the sticky part would equal 75cm from the center SUP fin (end of sticky part closest to center fin, middle of sticky part, or end of sticky part furthest from center fin). Also, should I slide the center SUP fin all the way back so that it is closer to the end of the SUP? I’m not sure if this matters or not but my SUP is 9’1”.
