Ian Anderson is an amazing performer, multi instruments, high energy and on top of that he's a great guy. He constantly champions humanitarian causes like homelessness, the environment, endangered animals etc... often doing benefit concerts to help raise money and awareness. As a matter of fact their out on tour right now and recently released another album. A few of their massive hits include - "Teacher", "Aqualung", "Hymn 43", "Cross eyed Mary" + + + check them out

My sophomore year in college, 1972, I believe, eight or ten of us piled into a friend's van, made pit stops for a case of 3.2 beer, some weed, and a handful of quaaludes, and hit I-64 Eastbound for the 50 mile trek to Charleston, WV to see Jethro Tull in concert! One of the best concerts, and most memorable nights out partying with friends, of my entire lifetime!

Ian is my poet -- I listened to Tull all my life -- They are still rockin and they just released a new album -- Ive seen them in concert numerous times over the years and have enjoyed every show -- I dont know where to tell you to start they have such a huge catalog -- Most do Aqualung or Crosseyed Mary - but they cover so much and varied types of music you must dive deep -- everything from sweet little dittys like Reasons for Waiting to Pirate chanteys -- To medieval ballads - to sweeping Progressive Rock 45min songs -- Heavy Metal -- you name it -- I would wish you started close to their beginnings with Nothing Is Easy th-cam.com/video/HoSOuYNNXjU/w-d-xo.html or We Used to Know th-cam.com/video/5EBQ-ljFlt4/w-d-xo.html Im going to love seeing you discover more from this amazing and entertaining band

Musical genius Ian Anderson is self-taught on the flute. I would suggest the live verson of Nothing Is Easy th-cam.com/video/axEK3x5KIYc/w-d-xo.html. Filmed in 1970, only one year or so after Ian picked up the flute.

You are young. We all were at some point. Age is simply a number. It’s what’s in your soul that counts. I’m 63, had great rock to listen to all my life. And my neighbors still hear me coming down the street with loud rock and roll thru my speakers. My favorite bands are YES and ALICE IN CHAINS. Very different types of rock, but ❤️ them, and many others.

You: "This is lit you all"
Me: "you know it, we were lit before lit was alight"
He was basically self taught on the flute, he plays many complex notes and methodology that takes decades to teach professional flautists

I believe this was filmed in 1982. That would make frontman Ian Anderson 35 yrs old.

Thanks for pausing during the flute solo, I really hate it when a solo isn't interrupted.

Recommend, Jethro Tull crest of a knave. Other bands, if you haven’t already looked at Mike oldfield tubular bells, ten years after can’t keep from cryin, pink floyd Dark Side of the Moon (you must listen to the complete album with headphones)

You want more Jethro Tull then go to my God and go to Aqualung and above all go to an entire album of one song called thick as a brick. It's so wonderful to see the generation crossover. I'm a year younger than Anderson the singer flute player who writes most of the material that's just for a tall invented farm equipment back in like the 16th century and just happened to be a name they were using when they cut on. I've seen them every time in concert and they truly are as exciting as you can see them back in their day I think this one is from about 73. These other songs just tear it apart I put it back together and go to other extremes which is what progressive rock is all about and I also like the fact that you jumped right in to the energy and we're rocking to the tune. I'm sure I'll have other tends to suggest to you. All right let's try Kashmir, the live version by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant who went out with local symphony orchestras musicians from the mid East and this incredible riff that they picked up literally in Kashmir over near India. I think you'll dig it. If you can't find it I'll try to send you a link and even if you listen to a live version of it from early '70s as well it'll blow you away. Robert Plant and I are the same age and this band Zepp just took me into as I'm a singer and writer and guitarist drummer etc new extremes and made me float away with their Hindenburg Zeppelin on the cover of the first album
