Such a charming man... It's strange to miss someone you never met. I look at Jim and feel like I lost a friend whom I never knew.
It’s a crazy right.
A few more years and he would have been known as one of the greatest
many say the the day the music died was about buddy, the boppa and Richie ,, but for me it has become second fold when we lost Jim and Maury ,,then Stevie Ray Vaughan ,, they say somewhere that the god only takes the best ...
Bobby Darin as well... one of Jim’s biggest influences
It's ok we love all to this day. Am 70 etc.
Ageed
I agree, Jim and Maury died when I was six months old, I was raised on their music. Stevie died when I was 17, I’ll never forget that day. It was a hard pill to swallow
I wasn't allowed to listen to much "secular/rock" music, But my dad fortunately allowed me abd my sister to have this man's entire catalog. This man and Gordon Lightfoot was about as "rock&roll" as it got... But these character songs are just fun eloquence. 2024
Always loved Jim's music. I wish I had known more about Maury. It could've just as easily been Maury who'd become famous first. They were a great team. God bless them both.
Murray providing even the sound effects
I thought the microphone died somehow😂
How can you not help but stare at him in admiration and awe? RIP you genuine gems who brought so much meaning to living.
You're right Cathy he did give us so much I get emotional just thinking about it and I had realized it's been fifty years this year. And I'm a 61 year old guy whose wife has never seen him cry but she doesn't see the tears in my eyes right now. Take care of yourself
Smart Woman!
that simplicity... "tha'ts maury
Rest in peace, boys.
Thank you for the music 🎶
Jim was such a great all around personality, killer lyricist, and Maury was Billy bad ass on lead acoustic.
Don't forget Maury's beautiful harmonies.
Midnight auto supply lol. Haven't heard that in decades. Thanks for the laugh Jim. RIP.
Always liked his music and for the life of Me there has never been another like him.
Oh this brings me back to the 60's, loved this song 🎵 ❤️ 💕 😍
70’s
@@timetowakeup6302 i was referring to boxcar rallys, not the publishing of song but I apreciate your correcting me as to the date of this VIDEO LOL. When I grew up we went to Englishtowne NJ to see crazy cars n races n such. Peace!
I grew up near Reading. Everything he says is true.
Really cool! Takes me back to the early 70's...showing my age but it's great to reminisce..
Lovely man and heartfelt music…so happy Ingrid has her beautiful son 😊
A. J. is a very talented jazz pianist and just as handsome as his dad.
It is amazing how talented both of these men were, and at such young ages. May they both rest in peace. 👋🏾💯🙏🏾
Who is the other man? I can't find any info on him here
Listening to this song after a long time. I've never felt so tempted to get a tattoo, or two.
Let's do it bro.
THE REASON WHY I LEARN PLAYING GUITAR AND COMPOSED SOME SONGS.... LEGENDARY JIM CROCE🥰
He got a tattoo on his arm that say baby, he got another one that just say hey. Love it ❤
That is just a PHENOMENAL line.
absolutly burning it
Checking in from Reading PA, grew up at the Fairgrounds, hell yes !!
One of the singers of the 20th century. I would put him at number 2 in that list. I miss his songs.
Who’s 1? Jerry?
I wrote this song too. One of 6846 songs for 18 Record Labels and 58 artists.
Gone too soon
Now that was a man who knew how to wear a 'stache.
3:00 micro adjustment to the tuner and didnt miss a beat lol maury was a beast
Billy bad ass lead acoustic,,,,,,
Best, underrated lead guitarist, ever!
Reading PA!
I agree as Jim Croce was my favorite artist. I loved his song messages; coupled with the great music, it provided a thrill
Man I love this song and been listening to Jim since I was a kid in the 70s
My inspiration for everything man. This song means so much to me. Rip jim
Bravissimo
Jim Croce died in my hometown in the early 70's
Would you please write in the description box the date of these performances? 😁
Agli altri musicisti servono 5/6 elementi per fare un gruppo lui aveva la sua voce e due chitarre e il suo genio. Adoro la sua musica
Love this!
Great clip, thank you!
Rapid Roy ismy favorite but their all great storys
Yes all has died in all. But we still go on ib our lices and listen to our oen music . We woll go an rock on

Lyrics
Oh rapid Roy that stock car boy
He too much too believe
You know he always got an extra pack of cigarettes
Rolled up in his t-shirt sleeve
He got a tattoo on his arm that say baby
He got another one that just say hey
But every Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
Oh rapid Roy that stock car boy
He's the best driver in the land
He say that he learned to race a stock car
By runnin' shine outta Alabam'
Oh the demolition derby
And the figure eight
Is easy money in the bank
Compared to runnin' from the man
In Oklahoma City
With a five hundred gallon tank
Oh rapid Roy that stock car boy
He too much too believe
You know he always got an extra pack of cigarettes
Rolled up in his t-shirt sleeve
He got a tattoo on his arm that say baby
He got another one that just say hey
And Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
Yeah Roy so cool
That racin' fool he don't know what fear's about
He do a hundred thirty mile an hour
Smilin' at the camera
With a toothpick in his mouth
He got a girl back home
Name of Dixie Dawn
But he got honeys all along the way
And you oughta hear 'em screamin'
For that dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
Oh rapid Roy that stock car boy
He too much too believe
You know he always got an extra pack of cigarettes
Rolled up in his t-shirt sleeve
He got a tattoo on his arm that say baby
He got another one that just say hey
But every Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
My buddies and I just had fast stuff. Nothing pretty but we want it lol
I love this under-rated song!
Anyone know the chords he's playing here? Moving quite fast and I'm not advanced enough to get them yet. If no one ever responds and I get this one day, I'll update this comment.
The other guy going Chuck Berry at the end
