I actually just got these brushes yesterday. I've never actually used a brush for applying makeup! So, I decided to search for some kind of tutorial to figure out how to even use these brushes. I'm so happy I came across this video. I was able to bring my pack out and go along with your explanation during each brush. Still has that smell but totally worth it. I ordered these a year ago, I actually love the face tapered brush, its my favorite, I use it everyday to set my concealer, since its dense it deposits a little more powder and thats exactly what I want ( a cross between setting and baking) and my concealer lasts all day!
Maybe yours is stiffer since its new, mine is really soft from a year round's use. I just lightly tap it in the pan and set away

Even though I've got a few brushes that were very expensive, I bought them close to 30 years ago and they're still going strong. I've also got SO many from places like Walmart and Amazon that were downright inexpensive and I can see them lasting forever. Absolutely no need to spend like I used to. These brushes are the perfect example of that. You're helping so many people by getting the word out - you rock, Taylor!!!! Keep up the fabulous work you do!!!!

Watching this 3 yrs later and I love it. When you return (no rush, seriously) it would be great to see you do another video on one of the MANY sets (lol) that are being sold on Amazon. Like someone else mentioned. I like that you didn't write the brushes off because they didn't work for their intended purpose. I have done that with several brushes I own. Your favorite concealer, in depth concealer application, tips and tricks for creasing (I have really bad creasing about thirty minutes after application and I cannot figure out what im doing wrong.. ) setting your under eyes without creasing, your favorite setting powders, how to brighten your under eyes and correct creasing on the go, I would LOVE to see this type of video, you could even make a "In-depth application series" example: in-depth application: primer , foundations . Give tips and tricks for a full face application broken down into each product and how to apply it correctly and flawlessly and how to touch it up on the go!!! I would love to see this!!! The flat top face brush is my FAVORITE foundation brush and the tapered brush (that you said was a miss for you) I love for highlighter. I prefer these brushes over everything honestly.
I have one of the sets from bs-mall, the rounded foundation brush works really well with face powder to set it. You definitely want dab it on instead of buffing. I use the the face tapered brush to set my concealer and it works well for that. You can really get under the eye. It picks up a lot of product so it's almost like baking with it.
I actually have these and they are honestly amazing.
I found out the ivory soap gets makeup out of brushes and blenders best.
Elf makeup brush cleaner makes then super soft and smelling good
Johnson and Johnson baby wash works well too
Can you review the BH cosmetics' eye brushes set? I believe there are about 7 pieces. Or maybe the rose quartz or chic set. I'm definitely coming to you for products reviews because you're sooo honest about everything. Thank you for being you!

Tianna Walton it's an online cosmetics brand. Actually they sell bh in ulta but I personally think online is better because there are more products! They sell affordable makeup and brushes!
I had a bad experience with mine.. one was completely ruined and started falling off against my face..
I had such good luck with the tapered face brush but I love them all! Soooo glad I got them. I washed them and haven’t checked on if they’ve maintained their softness/useability. Softest brushes and better than a lot of my expensive brushes! Great video!

I have over 12 sets of BS-Mall Brushes! They are amazing and super affordable dupes for higher end brushes like sigma and Morphe! Kabuki style! Not a fan of the eyeshadow brushes but the fave brushes are amazing! Great review!

Alessa literally the same as all the brushes, some a little shirts but from brush head to handle end standard! I can measure them for ya girl!
Alessa face brushes about 6" (give or take with different brush heads, etc, tapered face) and shadow brushes about 7" (give or take, like exp. Flat share brush is a little shorter) so so sooooo worth the cheap price, for good brushes I use in my professional kit non stop!

These were my very first set of brushes ever!! And I still have them lol. I use the blending brushes all the time even still and they've lasted through lots and lots of washes 😊👏🏼👏🏼

I own these brushes and have for a while, I'm glad someone else spoke their opinion on them because I really thought I was tripping when it came to the tapered face brush and pencil brush. They are so dense! Ugh! The blending brushes are bomb af!

I have just the eye brushes (different name on the handle but literally the SAME brushes down to the rose gold/brown) and I love them! Every single day I use the blending brushes- I think the WNW crease brush is a little flimsy sometimes, while my Real Techniques ones can be too dense/grab too much product. These are the *perfect* in between! Thanks for the review!

I love these brushes!! I've had them for a year or so! I think I ordered a smaller collection though, because I didn't get the flat top angled brush, the brow brush, the detail concealer brush, the eyeliner brush, the lip brush, or the pencil brush.
I ended up giving away the large tapered brush and the concealer brush away because they just did not work for me. Now I want the concealer brush back for my colourpop shadows! 😅

This is such a good review of these brushes. I have a similar brush set from BS Mall, & I too find the face brushes very similar to each other. They don't pick up powder well, so they're better for blending & why the eye brushes are better than the face brushes.

I just got these brushes for my bday, and wasn't really sure about them. I hated the one brush for under eye concealer. I don't even use that one. I love the eyeshadow brushes, but still was pretty unsure on the other ones. So thanks for the video!! Very helpful!!
I have basically the same set. I bought them as a starter set. I use the tapered face brush for powder highlighter. It works pretty good for that.
I'd like to see someone do a review on the Real Techniques Powder Bleu collection. They look kind of pricey but I love them.
I have these same brushes! Bought them years ago and they're still going strong. Only one fell apart a few months ago. The eyebrow brush started shedding badly

Got my brushes for my first makeup at 12 I love them and they so far lasted me 2 years one broke last week but I fixed it with wood glue
I bought 4 of these 10pc sets in different colors as Christmas gifts last year, for friends and family just getting into makeup. When I checked them out the only thing that bugged me was that all of the brushes were so dense, not a lot of variety as far as highlight, blush, eyes... But, definitely thought it was great quality for a beginner set!

I have those same brushes but they came packaged different for the hollidays. Im there booklet the brush you used for conceler is actually better for packing powder like under the eyes and the creases of the mouth and nose:) i honestly love them though!
a lot of people in the comments have been asking for places to get brushes and makeup so hello! i’m new to makeup and i’m on a budget so i go to five below, cvs, and forever 21 for makeup, and for brushes i get them from either five below, forever 21, or rue 21. hope this helped everyone!!
I have the 10 brush set I think it’s a great set for beginners but the only one I didn’t like was the face flat brush for foundation. When I was trying to blend my foundation it was kinda ruff and it seemed like it grabbed a lot of product but for the rest of the brush I like. I appreciate your honest review ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'd really love to see how they change after being washed. The BS-Mall brushes I got were amazing after I washes them the first time.
I've bought a bunch of brushes by Toraway on Amazon, and they're dupes for It Cosmetics brushes! They don't shed and work great, and they only cost about $5 (price & shipping) each.

The chemical smell is formaldehyde. AKA - embalming fluid. But don’t freak. Any items sent from oversees depending on where they are coming from, are usually kept in vacuum sealed bags n formaldehyde to preserve their newest best quality by the time it gets overseas. 👌🏼 lot of ppl don’t know that!

I went ahead and bought these brushes for extra brushes when I have non that are cleaned. I have a brush cleaner so I hope my attachments for that fit on to it. Otherwise I bought a brush cleaning pad and brush cleaning shampoo. You can never have too many brushes! You need to demonstrate on how to clean makeup brushes. I started a Facebook site called, Makeup Try’s and Tribulations. I have watched tons of beauty gurus give advice and want my opinion to matter for others as well.
The last face brush (tapered one) could be used for setting powders under the eye or making your contour sharper I guess

Ok. I got them. They're actually pretty good brushes im a young mom so i cant really spend $70 to $100 on a brush set. The quality is good . I did see maybe 2 brushes with a few hairs falling out. Nothing exaggerated. Ive had them for 2 weeks now theyre pretty good.

i brought bsmall brushes a year ago & just had to throw them away because i didn't listen to warnings when cleaning them & all the bristles came put there's amazing though

Have you tried or done a demo of the MODA Prismatic Face Perfecting Makeup blending brushes? It's a brush set available at Walmart. The handles are a luminous almost mylar finish. I think the bristles are purple. Thanks!

I wonder how these brushes will hold up to frequent washing. I have had problems with some Elf brushes falling apart so much sooner than any other brushes because I wash most of my brushes every day. Still, I really appreciate that this set includes nice blender brushes for eyeshadow. I think that kind of brush is often missing from big sets. These really look like they are worth trying.
I'll let you know if I experience that after some washes!

I bought these on Amazon for 6.79 last night. I needed some dense Kabuki type brushes. I busted out my bare minerals and bought 2 other powder foundations , so I wanted some brushes for them. I searched TH-camr and saw your video 😁. I have a couple bare minerals brushes ... Not buying anymore way to much $$.
New subbie here -- I really enjoyed your video, thank you! For the pointed foundation brush that is really dense, I just like to use those type of brushes to apply setting Powder under my eyes - it helps me not waste my powder because of the densely packed bristles. But, like you said - I would definitely not use it to blend because it way to rough for that delicate area. May need to check out Amazon for this set...
