By the way, while it's normally a pretty useless enchantment, Thorns would be worth having in this series. Red names will think twice about going after you knowing that every time they hit you they permanently lose some of their own hearts as well.

@@elgone999 But traps are much harder to pull off (especially in this series) than just swinging at someone. And when it comes down to the final battle it would make the others more likely to target other people first rather than going after you, taking guaranteed damage and THEN having to face the others.
They might have to ban thorns that’s really overpowered
I find it useful in normal survival. It's not the best enchantment but it's fun to just straight up ignore mobs and let them kill themselves while you do other stuff
I love how Pearl says "I'm not like you, I'm not gonna tell you" when she basically ended up doing the same thing at the end of the session.
In her case it was literally needing to confirm it was clear. This 'rule' of Grians is completely flawed and biased. Like, bad enough I can't even enjoy the shenanigans any more.
@@tristanridley1601 It was clear that Pearl succeeded her task. Lizzie was confused, that she was sent on a wild goose chase, there was no need for her to type anything in chat whatsoever. The mission succeeded when she got to the end of the trail. There were no flaws in the ruling for that task.
Pearl failed because she exposed her task entirely at the end. That's why Grian specifically said "You have to judge it yourself" or something alone those lines to Pearl, but Lizzie was also talking at the same time so she could've missed what Grian was saying. There was no bias anywhere in that situation.

@@DarchrowTheEnigma Yeah, seeing it back this way it's evident that there was a lot of noise and Grian let's be honest wasn't particularily loud enough in order to be clearly heard. Let's also not forget that each participant has different volume settings for other participants, and Grian might has just been turned a little bit down on her end, so that also plays a lot of role. Plus, Scott had no issue telling Jimmy or Joel (can't remember now which one) what his task was BEFORE pressing the succeed button. I guess rules are really just more or less some mere recommendations that you may vaguely follow. To be fair, Scott was on his way to press the button, and just casually got into a talk, and in his perception he basically was doing two things at once. So he told the other guy while pressing the button, or while he was on his way almost there. It's kind of like you are doing your thing and somebody just casually walks up to you and starts talking to you. It's really just for the entertainment, so let's not be so pedant about it.
The fact that Impulse was *reminded* by BigB that he had to push the button before telling him his task and STILL told Tango is a spoon moment. 😂
its even funnier since pearl witnessed the moment impulse did this, also joked about not making the same mistake as impulse, and then at the very end did the same thing and failed LMAO

Tango is a, they are bros moment and typically share in all of their shenanigans moment. He typically tells Tango everything, so it was just instinct.
I love that you used Scars Timelapse music while riding on the camel with him. I think this could be a great detail to do whenever interacting with any other hermit!

I have got to say that impulses editing is ON POINT this season. With all the transitions, travel montages, and tastefully well thought out music. We appriciate it, Impulse !!!

he did this with LimLife as well! Most notable for me was the slow motion and inner thoughts before doing a clutch while he was falling
Pretty sure impulse said he has an editor for this series too, when he was talking to gem. Not even his editing. I feel like a lot of impulses stuff has lost that personal touch :( still a great video tho!

For real, the whole James Bond villain thing of stopping for a chat before your victory is really working for you this season. Discussing your plan at the Secret Keeper before pushing the button each time has me rolling with laughter.
i really like the way impulse's editing is going this season (and for the last life series also) the third person cuts, the like "what's going on in his head' stuff, etc. and using scar's timelapse music for the camel ride was a really nice touch
Absolutely love Gem and The Scotts. This may be the biggest concentration of competence on the server. In addition, you're all such nice people (when you don't have a goal contrary to peace).
I usually just watch Scott in the Life series, so I'm checking out his teammates this season and Impulse does seem really nice :)
@JDM-is-my-name that's how I discovered pretty much everyone. I started watching False, then Scar, and then it cascaded after the Empires Xover. That's how I started watching smajor. Impulse and Gem just came from watching Hermitcraft.

The first time I saw any of his content was because they did a "creepy text story" thing and I loved his personality so much that I began watching him, lol.
It's always fun to hear how other rpoeple stumbled across some of my favorite TH-camr :)
@JDM-is-my-name I love when TH-camrs do a "how did you first hear of me" thing. I usually don't remember but for Hermitcraft (and then their associates), I remember starting to watch about halfway through season 4, then watched more and picked up new favourites. It's funny that I didn't care for ZombieCleo in seasons 4 and 5 but now she's my favourite, and how can Cleo be one's favourite and not like Smajor?
TASK IDEA: Completely ignore another player’s existence for at least 10 minutes, bonus if after you say you just didn’t notice them

I really like that you used music and an echoey effect in editing to show when you were muted vs when your mic was hot. Very clever, wish more Hermits would do that too! I don’t have to keep glancing at the corner to see if others can hear you or not.
You know, I didn't use to like impulse doing the 3rd person shots, but it's grown on me. It feels like a movie!
It does grow on you but too much of it some times
I personally dont like it… it just feels awkward to me ☠️ i was glad watching his first episode it didnt really have it but i cant do it… I really tried last season but it just pulled me out of the moment of the video. I commend the effort of editing but its just not for me personally
Just started the video but I liked the third person shots in the first ep. Like gem running towards the diving board trying to get impulse to jump. Cinematic
I like it for shots where its necessary to show a wider angle but dislike it for just normal gameplay.
Yeah the skipping shots of them running in the first cave was kinda off
I just want to say that Gem and the Scotts is like, the most wholesome group ever. I love this.
An idea for a hard task: Set up a trap that purposefully fails, they can’t take any hearts, to spook someone :)
That's actually pretty easy though. You just need to put a TNT trap right inside someone's door but have the lit TNT dispense in water.

@@liamengram6326 tnt in water doesn't break blocks, but it still does damage
@@tulip_princess7703 The water is only to prevent base damage. You'd still dispense it 8 blocks away from them. The main purpose is the noise of the dispenser, the TNT ignition, and the boom.
Etho did this task like 8 times in this episode, of course a few of them took hearts but several did not

Lizzie had the task of trying to make people sus she was doing a task, and NO ONE clicked or called her out on it. BigB is also doing sus things WITHOUT them being tasks, this series is INSANE.

I like the editing Impulse, the voiceovers during about your secret and third person perspectives put the episode together well
As a long time Impulse viewer, I often tried to guess what the S in SV stood for and I immediately landed on Scott as the most likely because Impulse totally looks like a Scott. I was really caught off guard when Smajor confirmed it (though apparently Impulse also did in a podcast episode) 😅
For some reason I thought Impulse's name was Shaun for the longest time.

Actually, the majority of the Life Series players didn't know Impulse's real name until the podcast episode (part 2 with Mumbo) where he revealed it. That's why it's suddenly being mentioned this series - because Smajor finally knows they share a name and probably thinks it's hilarious. He just didn't know before and thus couldn't say anything in previous series

Task suggestion: be extremely passive aggressive towards the first player you encounter but normal to everyone else for the entire session
I know everyone basically agreed to the rule about “fail if you reveal your secret before pressing the button” but I personally thjnk it’s so arbitrary! If your task is done, it shouldn’t matter! It may just be a way for the series to not go on forever if people stay at 30 on green
I like how when Impulse went back to the village after getting the pig Gem was like oh yay the smart one is here and he’s just slowing making his way over to her on a pig

Ironically, he misunderstood what "jumpscare" meant and didn't realize he'd done it to Grian early on. Just like last session, he repeatedly spilled something that was _similar_ to his actual task but not the task itself.
@@dbseamz tbf I think he knew he already succeeded but he wanted it to be more entertaining so he set a new rule just for laughs.
I love her y'all just put trap doors everywhere in Pearl's house and just chilled out for a while.
Task idea: play charades with 3 players, using builds or items only. Only successful guesses count.
Task idea: convince 2 players to try a fake Minecraft trick or hack.
Task idea: build something mostly with lava, dripstone, and/or other dangerous things. It must be prominent and you must give a different explanation for it every time you are questioned.
Task idea: start a building project with another player. For 15 minutes, compare all your building blocks to food.
Task idea: become overly concerned with health and safety building standards for 30 minutes.

Impulse, you didn't reveal your secret. Only part of it. It only counts if you reveal it word for word, so you could have cashed it in up until you threw your book at tango.

Task ideas: move someone's base over by 10 blocks - take 5 items from another person's furnace - sell someone a stick for something absurdly valuable - give someone's base a face - copy whatever someone says for 10 minutes - put goats in another person's house - go out of your way to be as annoying as possible for half the session - give evey person 10 dirt - sing to 3 people. And some hard ones too: teach 2 people a dance routine and get them to perform it - build 10 big frog statues - steal someone's boots. If these ideas are used, please put the credit as Liliana :D

That NOOOOOOOOOO killed me! Also two task ideas, one where you have to spy on someone, preferably with a spy glass and not get caught. The other one is scare Gem with a soundboard since she hasn't been gotten with the creeper sound effect. Though that last one could be with anyone. Credit to Rhi please!
