- Double Life is an odd mix of a Social and PvP Minecraft game started by Grian. Players are thrown into a tiny world with almost no rules, except survive as long as possible.
In this version players have 3 lives that are linked to their soul bound partner which is chosen randomly at the start of the game. Red Players are given the goal of killing all the other players in the game.

For those that are uninformed, Etho logged on the Hermitcraft server during Impulse's stream for half an hour. In summary:
- log in to HC server
- goes to the nether
- dies to a berry bush
- leaves
- refuses to elaborate

Etho and Joel is a deadly combo. Both for them and everyone else. Etho has the highest capacity for hijinks, but Joel is the most ready to do them. Terrifying

and we can also add the fact that last life proved joel is definitely the best person to be connected to when going to red life. he went from 1st red life to final 5 in last life which would make me feel confident that i will go far when connected with joel while on red life

Etho also completely stopped moving, and made sure everything was on camera for the audience, then waited patiently for a second before laughing, you could just hear the grin spreading across ethos' face. and i think he stopped mouse-wheeling through his hotbar as well. basically, for that moment he turned into a cameraman.
Joel: "it's gonna be so hard not to die in this"
Etho - keeps taking damage and getting healed by Joel "this doesn't seem to bad"
Their strategy was honestly not too bad. One is fighting, the other is eating to keep the Fighter regenerated. That xan work.
With one health bar, they also have two hunger bars which means double the potential saturation. If both of them eat at the same time, they heal at an insane rate.

Etho and Joel are the unexpected chaotic duo we never knew we needed. I loved when Joel distracted Bdubs by stealing the wheat, and Etho went to take the beds, they were perfectly in sync with their chaos.

Yeah I'm a little bit bummed it wasn't Etho and Bdubs, but on the other hand I'm happy, because we're seeing team ups that would have never happened otherwise. We did not consider the pure chaos that would result from an Etho and Joel team up, but it's just so perfect.

Seriously though, I love the Ethel duo. Etho partnering with the guy who knocked him out of Last Life is fantastic. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better duo (except for Etho/Pearl… one day).
Honestly they should start some kind of series together, even if it's just an adventure map or CTM style map.

Bdubs interrogation of Etho at the beginning reminded me of one of their earliest mindcrack videos … caving together, bdubs asking tough questions and etho trying to avoid answering… then bdubs responds with his classic “uh huh 🤔 “….. leaving etho speechless. Love the different playstyles and strats of each Hermit. And of course the shenanigans Etho will be up to with his crew.
Etho if/when you become red you should hook yourself up to a mass healer that spams splash healing and then have Joel just wreak havoc. Joel would be impossible to kill.

Been watching for almost 9 years now, currently 22. And still not a single video from Etho goes by without making my day better - even if it's just the 30 minutes I'm watching the episode. Oh wow this was a pleasant surprise. Loved the previous season. Genuinely one of the most exciting series you've made. The comradeship and enemyship brings me back to the prank wars days of Mindcrack.

The Mumble link was such a novel idea to me at the time, and you got so close to winning at the end. Also the first series of yours that I saw you make TH-cam thumbnails for!

I feel like the map should've been larger, specifically so that players can A: use the horns to find each other, and B: make the whole "search for your soulmate" thing feel more genuine

Haven’t watched in a while, I appreciate that you have the same intro as so long ago. The sheer nostalgia of hearing it and seeing it as I lay in my bed as an adult is breathtaking considering I used to do it as a child more than 10 years ago.
The one thing I wanted most about Etho releasing videos again was that he would at least get to spend some time with friends while doing so. I'm glad he got to enjoy doing this series again.
I just had the shittiest day with missing a connection flight and having to stay over night In a random city... Opening youtube to see Etho uploaded has lifted my spirits soooo much. THANK YOUUUUUU!!

I love double life because in this game two players are linked and if one dies then his or her partner dies with them and they are out until one team survives.
