- Sub compact tractor by John Deere known as the 1025R is one of many sub compact tractors various after-market attachments can be linked to.
Bought used in 2018, this 2016 model has minor variations to include a "push-pull" PTO switch vs a toggle type switch that is used in conjunction with operating accessories. In this case a Wood Chipper by Woodland Mills.
Just another point of view regarding initial decision to buy from Woodland Mills but also of attaching to the 1025R.
At this publishing, the 1025R with WG24 (stump grinder) is set up to tackle a few stumps. Have not used the wood chipper (WC46) other than a static start in my driveway.
Happy (to date) with the purchase. Learning curve is minor! Great instruction manual. Support from Woodland Mills has been exceptional! Price is extremely comparable, if not better to include if seeking a "self-feed" type woodchipper.
Sit on machine start tractor engage parking brake. You should be able to use PTO without it shutting off. The manual tells you the procedure which is easy. I believe setting the parking brake is what allows you to run it without it shutting off. I have a 2016 1025r and a wallenstien chipper I've used for years.
Hi, thanks for the video! I have been considering the Woodland Mills WC46, as i have a 21 HP tractor. There is very few videos of this model on youtube. Would be nice if you can make a video of it in operation. Thanks!
