I thought the Milwaukee nailers were filled with nitrogen from the factory, one of the reasons it can work in colder temperatures over the MetaboHpt nailer which is filled with air and has an automatic safety shutoff at around 18°F

It's not that air (which is 78% Nitrogen anyway) won't work, it's that the canister will loose pressure slower. The temp limits are because the metal canister contracts more that the plastic piston at low temps, so running it cold can cause increased wear. The same thing is true of the Milwaukee of course, the difference is the metabo has a lifetime warranty and Milwaukee would just love for you to send the thing in every couple years. That's also why metabo gives you an access port to refill it yourself.

@@dcl97 that makes sense, I have a few of the MetaboHpt nailers and bought the regulator to refill them myself instead of shipping them off and waiting to get them back
