- Princess Cruises have changed a LOT on Sun Princess, and that includes many of the Princess Dining options you know, and so in our Sun Princess Inclusive Food Review, we are looking at what is included within your cruise fare, without you spending any more money.
In our Sun Princess Food Dining Guide we look at all the main venues for the food that is inclusive, including the three main dining rooms, The Eatery, Lido Deck Options, Alfredo's Pizzeria & O'Malley's Irish Pub (both included in the Princess Plus/Premier packages),
Sun Princess
The Sun Princess launched in March 2024 and at the time of recording was the worlds newest ship and is Princess Cruises largest ever ship
Here are some of its exciting features:
Capacity: The Sun Princess can accommodate 4,300 passengers - Princess Cruises Largest Ever Ship but still smaller than the likes of P&O Iona or Arvia
LNG-powered: It's the first ship in Princess Cruises' fleet to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), making it more environmentally friendly
Balcony bonanza: Boasting 70% balcony cabins, the Sun Princess offers passengers more opportunities to enjoy scenic ocean views than any other Princess ship
Culinary delights: With nearly 30 eateries onboard, catering to a variety of tastes and over 200 New Cocktails
Entertainment extravaganza: The Sun Princess offers a range of new entertainment options, including the high-tech "Dome" inspired by Santorini and the mysterious "Spellbound" venue featuring magic shows and themed cocktails
Thrill-seeker's paradise: The Sea Breeze Rollglider, soaring 19 decks over the ocean, or experience the unique Infinite Horizon feature with moving glass walls that allow you to gaze down the side of the ship

We were invited to cruise on Sun Princess as part of a media trip. Whilst the cruise was hosted by Princess at no cost to us, everything else was covered by ourselves and we are not restricted by Princess to anything we say on our videos, nor have they asked or been given any editorial oversight or control, they see our videos at the same time as you do. As nice as the new set up is, I still miss a more traditional buffet. One of the reasons I prefer older ships over her.
We have to admit, having now cruised on a few ships with this type of buffet alternative, we do prefer it, but that's not to say that the traditional buffets are great too. Celebrity Apex's was amazing

Nice video but female spoke too softly could not hear her very well- I am so glad to see that they have chicken options- just came back from celebrity cruise it was 95% beef and pork- I don’t eat beef and pork
Thank you, we are constantly working to improve the audio, not just the video, and you should see both voices are balanced out a bit more going forward.
If you get the Princess Plus package and you decide to have one of the costlier glasses of wine, do you pay the full menu price for the wine plus the 18% gratuity, or do they just bill the difference between the $15 and the increased cost??
Hi Fran, yes you can just pay the difference if it is over your limit, plus 18% gratuity on that difference. So if the drink was $16 for instance you would get a bill of $1.18. Hope that makes sense?
Perhaps unsurprisingly the American Diner menu for the top MDR looks to be almost exactly the same as P+O's 6th street diner on Arvia, shared Carnival group parentage showing.
We've not been on Arvia yet, but have seen plenty of videos of the diner on there, and the menus are very similar, although Princess's dedicated cocktail menu on there is VERY different, if you like cocktails, it is worth heading in their for a meal at least once, even if you just got a starter or dessert and then try some of those drinks.

Having servers at a buffet cuts down on food waste.
Completely agree Mark, it is one of the things we love about it, and we said similar on Virgin with their Galley concept too, reduces food waste massively, and you know it is fresh.
Plus prevents people/children sticking their hands on the food etc i think itd a great idea
