- Li Bai 李白and Du Fu 杜甫 are regarded as the greatest poets in Chinese history. There is still no consensus on who is the greatest even today among the Chinese. The two of them were not only living at the same time but also great friends, at least according to Du Fu. In this video I am going to show you two excerpts from Du Fu’s two very long poems he composed about Li Bai. I would like to explain what sort of friendship they had and how much Du Fu admired Li Bai, both as a mentor and a friend. If you tell Du Fu that one day he would be regarded as an equally significant poet, he was not going to believe you!!

Wow - beautiful poems❤Thank you for explaining them🙏🙏!
Thanks Seena!!
At 19:00 "flushed with excitement" would probably be better than "putting colours on my face with excitement".
Another great video.
Спасибо за замечательное видео!
Thank you for your comment!! Sorry I don't read your language, what is it?
@@dr.gaosclassroom Oh, I'm sorry! I wrote: "Thanks for the wonderful video!". English is not my native language and I was afraid to write something wrong. So I wrote in Russian😅 I thought you had a built-in comment translator on TH-cam...
But now I will write you comments in English! ^^"
Thank you! I kind of guessed it might be Russian. But I don't want to be wrong, so I just asked. It is fine if you like to comment with Russian. I think your English is very good. You can also write in Chinese if you like! Are you learning Chinese? @@ladysweetann

Please write the poems in the classical Chinese letters since the poetry was written in Tang dynasty.
Thank you for reminding me this. I did change my fond to the classical letters in recently videos. Please check them out.
The classical letters look so much better than the simplified ones!!
