Hi, this is Khaleel Seivwright. Currently I have begun working on a new project called Fat Drop Trailers.
We are building and selling camper trailers to fund intentional community housing projects like A Better Tent City in Kitchener, On. If you would like to get involved or are interested in seeing our progress please check out our Links!

I wanted to thank you again for building me a Tiny Shelter when I was living in the park. After 3 months of being in a tent, on the ground, it made such a huge difference. It improved my physical mobility and my pain levels. I was able to sleep through the night for the first time. I did not have to go to sleep holding my medication and my cane, terrified that someone would steal them. It was warm, dry and safe. I had somewhere to recuperate and (for the first time), privacy. I had somewhere safe to store the belongings I could not carry with me when I went to the bathroom. It gave me stability, security and a sense of home. You have done far more for me than the City of Toronto ever has. Peace.

ALL THE EMERGENCY SHELTER AND OTHER NGOs staff who could lose their jobs if homelessness is solved and their services are no longer needed would push for such a legal action. There are enough asses on fire to nag the mayor and council for such a decision! Write to you council to tell them this is wrong and that you want them to withdraw the case, and partner with him instead. all of you writing will put enough to put this fire off.

Toronto is causing a housing crisis to spill out to the rest of Ontario. I live in Sarnia and I can't count the times I've heard "oh Sarnia's housing market is catching up to Toronto" this is problematic because I have friends and family that were born and raised in Sarnia and none of us can afford an apartment now let alone a house due to the influx of people from Toronto moving away from the city. What you're doing is amazing but as you said it's a temporary fix to a bigger problem. Best of luck in your efforts, hopefully we can get the market under control so people can afford to live in a decent home rather than be priced out of their neighbourhoods.

The city has failed its most vulnerable residents and he has come to their rescue finding a solution to help them. I honestly don’t know why anyone would oppose this. Not only is it good for the people living in the encampments but surely it is good for the wider community too. I would much rather walk through a park and see a community of cool tiny homes rather than a load of tents. I don’t see the problem!

Khaleel, you have huge admiration and support for stepping up - with empathy - building these tiny homes for those in need. It's unconscionable that John Tory has chosen this action against your efforts. We won't forget.

I have been following your journey with the Toronto Tiny Shelters and I just want to take the time to mention that your work and commendable contributions are truly admirable and inspiring. The world needs more people like you 💛

I'm so disappointed that you are the scapegoat for an unfortunate accident. What you have been doing is such a valuable contribution to our society and so many people have felt the same way Khaleel which is obvious by your Go Fund Me page (not to mention the people who stay in them). Your original goal was $10,000! If you have to go up against the city please open up your donations again on your page as I have no doubt that people will be behind you in paying for legal fees

Exactly this!! The city was just searching for what they thought was a “valid” reason to shut this whole operation down - it’s downright shameful. Our political representatives are vacationing in the Caribbean whilst simultaneously trying to put a stop to what little support the homeless population has during a winter of COVID. It’s almost comically evil, I don’t know how they sleep at night.

I think what you are doing is wonderful! Brave and MOST Important actually helping people TODAY! Unlike the city, province and the Feds talking about building "85 homes" NEXT YEAR!! Why are we Not building tiny homes anyway? Personally I think we should be building tiny home villages! This kind of village builds community and care for one another. It is not for everyone (families etc) but is perfect for those living alone. These could be a transition while people wait for affordable housing, or even longer term housing! Many people would Love just the opportunity to live in a place where they can be warm, and safe!!
