We often deliver from Food trucks, but also to many people stuck at work who can't leave, Funny to deliver Taco Bell to worker at Pizza place, or burger to Chinese food restaurant. One time del wine singles from 7-11 to an expensive restaurant, but restaurant told them NO WAY, cancelled so we got to keep it!! Recently del to a car parked on a country road waiting for AAA...hey were so happy.

Oh yes, del to a "Charlie Brown" statue in the park. Customer, a young lady, was stuck there working a booth. Chas Schultz, creator of Peanuts comic strip lived here so we have statues of his characters all over. It actually was "Pigpen"
Some of these restaurants do not have customer information to contact them. Like Applebees, IHOP McDonald’s etc. it goes through there own system automatically , not a tablet where an employee is physically entering in the order at the restaurant. I have a cousin working at IHOP and it’s a big issue. It’s the way these chain restaurants hooked up there ordering systems.

The ihop/cheesesteak order was hilarious you got straight to the point like look I’m not waiting anyway so ya lol plus he should’ve definitely had the customers number. He wanted to have their money too that’s what that was about
Others have already made this comment, but I don’t know of any restaurant who has the ability to contact a DoorDash customer. My assumption is, DoorDash owns the customer data and does not want the restaurant to have access to it or the customer, since it is a DoorDash customer. The restaurant should be able to communicate with DoorDash directly if they are unable to fulfill the order. When the manager asked Lou to call the customer, I think he went way too far into the weeds. Personally, I would have just said, I’ll contact DoorDash, make them aware of the issue and let them decide how to handle them customers order. If I were the manager, I would not have appreciated the way Lou was speaking to me. Tone is everything. Of course, that’s just me.

I think they do have a way to contact the customer. I ordered from Uber Eats (I know it's not doordash) but I ordered 3 pieces of cake and one was not available. The restaurant called me, not the driver. So, I am not sure how that works.

I got an order for Pardon My Cheesesteak yesterday. I couldn't figure out which restaurant in the mall had it (there is no iHop or food court there). Sometimes if you look a ghost kitchen up online, it'll say which restaurant it is in, but not in this case. And when I tried to call, I couldn't reach them. I was NOT in the mood to go search for it. So, I canceled it.
Always try and deliver DoorDash first because they will give you contract violations for late deliveries whereas Uber won’t.
I do double sometimes triples all the time. And usually I’ll turn the location off for the Uber app while I deliver DoorDash just in case so the customer dosent see me.

I delivered to a restaurant from Aldi
Hi, all the restaurant have on information on the customer is their order, nothing more, nothing less. All the restaurants can do is to update their menu on the app. As someone who owns a small business that uses DoorDash, that the only thing we can do for now. Again, it because of the app. Be upset with the app, not the restaurant as we tried our best to update things.
Monday, July 3rd, was the worst afternoon on Doordash this year. And I got stung by a bee on my knee in Wyandanch.

Only once have I been contacted because a location didn't have what I ordered, but it was the store and not the driver. What a mess. These ghost kitchens are too messy.

I definitely think the restaurants should have the customer contact info. He could've called and had the issue sorted out before they got there. I believe that he didn't have their info though, because every time I've had an item not be available, the driver contacts me.

Is it me or is Aldi a headache the wait and the self checkout is like really annoying scanning a bag caused an issue I love the ice cream cake the first time I had one was for my grandma birthday great idea to go back out to complete your goal.
I had one lady put in her Uber eats order and message me with her entire detailed order she wanted me to make for her I told her I don’t make your orders for you I just pick them up. She ignored me and kept typing more details of how she wants me to make her burger and what she wants on it etc. I said again I don’t make the orders you need to submit that to Uber eats in the order section I just pick it up. She continued giving more instructions! So I canceled the entire order smh.
That's weird for the dog food to be in the cat food section, ya know? So glad you found it though. It's also unfortunate how they only had 1 employee who could help stuck on the cash register.
Why don't you guys use the Navigation on The Delivery Apps?
We use them sometimes. Sometimes it’s quicker to just preload it since we have two phones
I know you were trying to get half pay but I don't think you should have had the Ihop order canceled. They wanted to speak to the customer to see if they would take a replacement and you (or the next driver) would be the only way for them to ask. That's not the restaurant or customer's fault. I probably would have called the customer and then unassigned/canceled based on their answer, but it's not really fair to just make the decision for them.

I received that email also. I looked into it and others that reset their AR basically said it wasn't good and they made more money before the reset. I'm not sure what to do...I might just leave it where it is.
