Hey bud, I have a question for you. I was told by someone I know on Little Torch that he was recently out at the Content Keys enjoying the sand bar / shoreline and a Federal boat pulled in and made them get back on their boat and leave the sand bar. He said that the Fed told him that it is illegal to be past the high tide water line on any of the outer islands, etc
Have you ever heard of such a thing? are they starting to enforce some old rules, or have they made new rules??
He was told that this is going to become a common enforcement, and to stay away because the next time he'll be ticketed.
Any info on this will be greatly appreciated, have a good weekend.

This is the first I've heard of this. There are a few privately owned, un-inhabited keys on the gulf side that are "private" and you're not supposed to be on them, but rarely, if ever enforced. I though the Content Keys were public property and never heard of this happening out there. I would think the sandbar would be below the high tide line anyway. It is almost always underwater at high tide. I'll ask a FWC officer next time I speak with one. Was the "federal boat" a coast guard? I've only seen Coast Guard, Monroe County Sheriff's and FWC boats out on the water back there. K

Thanks for all your videos, really helpful content to someone planning a visit to the Lower Keys. By the way, where is this spot on the video that people are walking in the water? Looks like a great spot. Thanks!

@arthur-fernanades : thanks for watching. The video was shot at Marvin Key on the Gulf side at high tide. At low tide it's a massive beach.

@fairwind8222 I have not heard about that. I was out there last week, mid-week. There is always something crazy happening down here. Thanks for watching.
