I was looking at my local electronic store/website, looks like they discontinued selling the RAP-1580 MKII. Do you know if Rotel is coming out with a newer model?
Hello Alexandre, thanks for asking. These are really different products, at different price points. The Rotel is powered at 100 watts x 7 channels, whereas the McIntosh is a processor needing a power amp. But the MX 123 offers some nice upgrades as a processor, including eArc for your TV sound, video upscaling to 8k, 13.2 channels vs 11.2 capable, network connectivity etc. Please reach out to us if you'd like to discuss further: ask@gramophone.com
Ich besitze den Rotel und bin total begeistert. 👍👍👍
One question, does this avr generate artificial dolby atmos sound when the original source doesn't provide it? If so, is it good? Thank you in advance

Thanks and hope to hear from you
Both are really solid, and I don't think you'd go wrong with either.

I haven't heard anything yet but they are about due for it imo. Or at least a minor refresh with HDMI 2.1 and some processing updates.
If I were a betting man, I'd say they are about to come out with something combatable with 8K, eArc, and maybe a touchscreen. Speculation only though.
Rotel RAP1580 or Mcintosh MX123 ? Which one is better ?

Buy the Yamaha a8a instead. 10x the reliability! Still, a terrific amp by rotel! I wish Michi made one of these monstrosities
After my Yamaha natural sound receiver died after 3 years I bought a Rotel in the late 80’s, it is still going strong and used every day !
beefy amp
Gosh with the price of electricity won't be able to power these items up
