Hello Gadget, no doubt the DMP - A8 is a really good product for the money. The internal layout of the A-10 is in a whole different category - quiet as can be. It definitely works better than A8 in a high-end, revealing system

Do you think it would - sound quality-wide- profit from an external DAC such as the Gustard X30 (fixed volume , DAC mode only) via a USB 2.0 A/B interconnect?
Hello Sir, possibly - but the internal DAC is quite good, so you may want to try it as - is, then experiment from there. We were very impressed with DMP-A10

A6 is good enough for me , even that is expensive for a streamer.
