Just bought a 2014 Mazda 6 Touring in the blue reflex color (the one you were standing next to). I am shocked at how nice this car is. I had only been paying attention to Accords and Camrys due to having good experiences in the past. Mazda has surpassed them with the Kodo design and Skyactive technology. Handling is sure footed and fun as hell to toss around corners. Amazing machine!
Great review. I'm currently driving one of these here in the UK and having a lot of fun with it. Mazda have done a fine job of matching space with pace with this car.
Great review and video as always Zach. Pls ignore the rude comments made by some ignorant ppl here. They could at least learn to appreciate your time that you're spending and knowledge that you are providing about cars. Regards from Toronto!
yes both of them are indeed very nice. I have to say Mazda and Honda have come a long way bring out new and exciting cars. Mazda with the cx5 and 6 and Honda with the accord and civic. If you want to buy one of them just test drive them.
I love it! I am waiting for the diesel to test drive that one. I love the way it looks like it is RWD even though it is not. If it were AWD I would love it even more.
Nice review. In Europe there are two diesels available, a 147hp and a 173hp I think they will use the more powerful dieselengine for US and Canada. Torque for the 173hp is exeptional good with a whopping 310 lb-ft!
Hey Zack great review as always. I was interested in hearing more about the I-ELOOP technology on the new 2014 Mazda 6 but you didn't touch on that. Any chance you can do a review on the Mazda 6 with I-ELOOP any time in the near future?
Glad I'm here reading this up. The i-ELoop is regenerative way of using the lost kinaesthetic energy when braking into electricity. That way it feeds the electricity inside the cabin so that in the long run, the battery will have a longer usage. The energy used for the i-ELoop system goes through a cycle, in a sense. From the generator, to the alternator(variable volts) and then towards the capacitor, which quickly stores energy. With a low resistance and high capacity for having energy, it's also double layered - that adds efficiency. And the reason why the alternator used is variable, is so that it can capture the necessary output of kinetic energy from the braking of the engine. That way it can continually supply the capacitor from 12 volts up to 25 volts. I heard that it can save up to 10% of gas compare to a car that doesn't have this regenerative braking system. And that's the advantage of the i-Eloop. It's Mazda's way of competing against hybrids.
I would be comparing the manual transmissions, and Honda makes one of the best...but I think Mazda is definitely on to something with this new design. Sporty & mature, but the new Accord is a pretty nice set of wheels too. Just wondering how those two would compare, since I don't get to drive all the cars I would like to.
For the same price, you can purchase a 280-hp Honda Accord V6. While I have no doubt that Mazda can accomplish more with less, a 100-hp gap is very difficult to overcome.
Mazda is getting nothing but rave reviews on this car...everyone seems to love it. But how does it compare to the Accord Sport? You seemed to love that one too(along with many others), so if it was your money...who would get your business?
Everything seems to be in a right direction for mazda on its next gen 3 except that little TomTom unit they insisted to install on even their newest models like cx5 & 6. That unit ruins the whole interior by making it looks cheap and mazda is brutal in decide what unit to use( remember that stamp size navi unit)?
The base model is the only one that has a manual transmission. In the US at least, I'm not sure about Canada, and I know Europe has much better options for manual transmissions.
I would get the Mazda. Since 2000 Honda quality has gone down. Not down like its inferior. But many minor parts have to be replaced at low mileage. And also their transmission suck.really they die around 100,000 miles. Some will go to 200,000 miles but many especially the Honda odyssey.
Think about your own example: P-A-S-T-A Now how would you pronounce that word? And I'm not sure what you're trying to say about "herb". As a spice, the "h" is silent. As a name, it is not. Lots of languages have letters that are silent. Let me know the next time you hear a Spanish-speaking person pronounce the letter "g" when speaking.
people never heard of something called different accents? People say kneeson or nesan auhhdee or owdee. Where you live Will influence you on how you pronounce some words
Pathetic! There is a whole other world outside the USA, specifically north america. However you are ignorant to this fact or maybe you are just too stupid to realise this. The icing on the cake was to elect bush twice and now trump. The IQ of every American seems to be going only one way and that is downhill!
Okay, so you are an American, no wonder you think it is wrong, only Americans pronounce it the way you do. He is saying it correctly. Google any review from the UK, Australia etc and you will see.
The way he says it isn't even close to correct, he has this weird Canadian twang to the "a" in Mazda that I find irritating (and obviously other people also). I'm a Japanese American and I've never heard anyone in the US insert an r into Mazda. Sorry, but that Canadian "a" is annoying, especially the way this guy says it. The lady in the video said Mazda correctly.
松田 is the japanese word and Mazda is the americanized version, I'm an Japanese-American, I know how to say the word and that horrible canadian accent with that long AAAAAAA is NOT how you say it. You're an american you should know better.
You know, saying it once and being incorrect can be forgiven. Everyone makes mistakes. Saying it TWICE and still being incorrect...is just being willfully ignorant.
lets go back to kindergarten, a short "a" says "ah" not "uh" it is spelt MAZDA not MUHZDA! and get over it. We Canadians pronuce the "ah". Don't watch him if you can't stand it!
Mazda is actually supposed to be Matsuda (a Japanese name) To remain closer to the authentic pronunciation as possible, it should be pronounced Mah-z-da

Nice! Im glad you have a new vid! Its been forever. Your vids are the best
Nice review as always Zach. I like the fact you don't hide your Canadian identity. Keep up the great work.
Excellent review!
I love my 2014 Mazda 6
This is the best looking car Mazda has created since the last generation 929.
There are so many great choices in this segment. The 6, Accord, Fusion, Sonata. Hard to go wrong with any of them.
Awesome review ! Excellent car.
Excellent detailed review

Yes there will be a diesel this fall but no specifics yet. They are having a separate launch for that car later this year. Stay tuned....
NICE best car reviewer on youtube
Nice review.
Nice review.

Torque for the 173hp is exeptional good with a whopping 310 lb-ft!
Gorgeous car!
Loving this new 6! Great looking car from a company that nows how to make driving fun. Might just trade in Kia Sportage for one?
hey Zach, what do you prefer the new accord or this 6?

Jeric Tamayo Wow, you sure must have done your research on this subject with all the technological details. Thanks for your input!
That is a beautiful car!
Nice!
So good
does the audio system have mechanical buttons or only the touchscreen \ console dial?
I would be comparing the manual transmissions, and Honda makes one of the best...but I think Mazda is definitely on to something with this new design. Sporty & mature, but the new Accord is a pretty nice set of wheels too. Just wondering how those two would compare, since I don't get to drive all the cars I would like to.
Also does the V6 Accord get 38 MPG? I think not since the V4 only gets 34.......
That front protruding edge on the front bumper looks great but ppl will bump it and crack it!
For the same price, you can purchase a 280-hp Honda Accord V6. While I have no doubt that Mazda can accomplish more with less, a 100-hp gap is very difficult to overcome.
The hatch is HOT! Too bad it won't be coming to the US.
You answered your own question. By the way, it's an inline-4...not a V4.
i have heard they are going to bring a 2015 mazda coupe and possibly a mazdaspeed6 but no wagon.
Well only the tail light look like the Hyundai but the Mazda put more work into it and it l looks better
That's the right way to say Mazda
0 to 60 on the manual please?
the noise isnt that bad to be a deal breaker just turn up the music a little.
nice
Bring the Mazdaspeed 6 back please!!!!!
Mazda is getting nothing but rave reviews on this car...everyone seems to love it. But how does it compare to the Accord Sport? You seemed to love that one too(along with many others), so if it was your money...who would get your business?
call me crazy, but this guy looks like Norm MacDonalds brother? I know Norm is a Canadian.
I tried it before it was sooooooo soft you should buy this car
Everything seems to be in a right direction for mazda on its next gen 3 except that little TomTom unit they insisted to install on even their newest models like cx5 & 6. Un! :D love your videos
He says it correctly. Only Americans pronounce it Marzda. For some reason.
im pretty sure that Mazda is a Japanese word.松田 is how you write it and mazdais how you say it. Just like hola and is translated into hello
color ?
Americans say "Mahz-da", and "pahs-ta" for some reason, and inexplicably dropping the h from "herb"
The base model is the only one that has a manual transmission. In the US at least, I'm not sure about Canada, and I know Europe has much better options for manual transmissions.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS FUCKING CAR!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Jeric Tamayo 2016 Grand Tourings are very nice. I got one in my driveway.
Looks like they deleted the comment because it was critical of the guy.
hardly... what sonata are you looking at?
Think about your own example: P-A-S-T-A

No... it's called an In-Line 4-Cylinder
Because the video was done at the Mazda6 launch in Austin Texas. Mazda takes the journalists down to the event, that is why they are interviewed...
people never heard of something called different accents?
People say kneeson or nesan
auhhdee or owdee. Where you live Will influence you on how you pronounce some words
The Honda Accord is a V4......
No V4's out there.... Inlines....except for some motorbikes
Nice review, but you're killing me with the "mAAAAzda".
Mahzda!!!!
Hey Jay watch again. He says he is in Texas, the channel is from Canada!
Just saying....
Gorgeous looking car in pictures but in person it looks cheap...
Gee, I thought it looked great in person. Ended up buying one.
Ron Hartman And I hope to do the same and that is to buy one.
Ron Hartman Me, too!
Dude, he is not from UK or Australia. He is from Texas so he should be pronouncing it like all of us Americans say it!!
I do, and so do at least 14 other people.
Beautiful car, but way underpowered. Bump it up to 270hp, then I'll consider.
maaaaahzda. brings me back to those Whaz ahhhup commercials from 15 years ago. ugh
Why is this guy saying mAAAAAAzda instead of Mazda??
The nose is a bit over kill for me... I like the subtle looks of the accord and camry better
After the 3rd time he said "Maazda" I had to stop watching.
Americans say "Mahzda", Canadians and everyone else says "Maazda".
I sat through the entire video and almost cried.
Pathetic! There is a whole other world outside the USA, specifically north america. However you are ignorant to this fact or maybe you are just too stupid to realise this. The icing on the cake was to elect bush twice and now trump. The IQ of every American seems to be going only one way and that is downhill!
Eamonn McDermott lmaoo cry about it. And wow your long ass comment exposes how ignorant YOU are. Get out of here
Faith Lapri Lol!
canadiens.....
Infiniti looking.
Watch a review from Top Gear, then get back to me. We speak the Queens English, not American.
Okay, so you are an American, no wonder you think it is wrong, only Americans pronounce it the way you do. He is saying it correctly.

Lol...that threw me too
MAH ZDA!
松田 is the japanese word and Mazda is the americanized version, I'm an Japanese-American, I know how to say the word and that horrible canadian accent with that long AAAAAAA is NOT how you say it.
You're an american you should know better.
It is MAZ--DA! Mast--da.
Some people say mazda so weird
You know, saying it once and being incorrect can be forgiven. Everyone makes mistakes. Saying it TWICE and still being incorrect...is just being willfully ignorant.

chill. you act like majority of the viewers are from Canada. we find it annoying so get over yourself. its not that deep
mazda is only for people who can don't mind rough ride and road noise..
And enjoy taking curves at 70 mph
It's pronounced "Mahz-da", not "Maazda"
Dude... Its pronounced
MOZ-DUH
I will PAY him to stop pronouncing it as "MAAAHZ-da", lol.
Yes, mazda, stop making cars for boring office manager. Bring the Mazdaspeed 6\Mazda 6 MPS BACK.
hate the way he says mazda...
I about almost went overboard with emotions after hearing that guy mispronounced Mazda so many times. Talk about annoying.
Zack is Canadian; that's how Mazda is pronounced in Commonwealth countries.
same. I'm tired of cringing.
maazda😂😂
Pathetic!
No ones ignorant you guys just can't take a joke. Take your heads out of your asses and breath some fresh air. Stop crying
