Only complaint is the plant placement is way too artificial looking in the monkey and agouti habitat
Now that you mention it, it does look that way. I wonder if they have changed it, when I visited was opening weekend.

You know I’ve lived in Texas all my life. I’ve been to the Fort Worth and Dallas zoos so many times. I’ve also been to the small Tyler Zoo, but I have not been to the Houston Zoo. Now, you’ve made me want to go to that one. It’s beautiful.
The Houston zoo is a very beautiful zoo, they have a new islands exhibit in the works. We hope to visit the Dallas and Fort Worth zoos in the next year or so. Glad you enjoyed the video!!
@@ZoosTravelers In regards to the Houston Zoo, the Asian Islands exhibit is gonna be where the current monkey area is (I am sure you knew that). I am not sure what phase of the master plan it’s gonna be associated with though. I am just glad the seals are gonna get a much needed new exhibit come 2022.

@@ZoosTravelers Stuff could change overnight in regards to this master plan stuff. The document I googled is Houston Zoo Strategic Plan. The original idea of the Pantanal is much different than it looks now.
Interesting, I will have to look that up. The pantanal was a fantastic exhibit, curious now to see what they originally had planned

Never knew that anteaters and tapirs could mix this means one day there will be an exhibit featuring tapirs, anteaters and capybaras as both tapirs and anteaters mix with them.
Capybaras are part of that exhibit, they were hiding or not out.

Is it just me or have you been to about every big zoo I can think of?
We've visited many over the last few years! My wife and I are travelers just wish I started filming earlier. Stay tuned we have big plans for the next 14 months!!

Great job I went only a couple of days ago with my friends ad we visited some other zoos and places while we where driving to Houston

Virginia zoo,philliedelphia,West Virginia,Louisville zoo,Memphis zoo,Nashville,Mississippi,Houston,Audubon zoo,New Orleans,Miami,Jacksonville,zoo Atlanta,south and North Carolina and Maryland IT was a super long trip and from the end Of September to October 21
Nice! Lots of good zoo visits on that trip. Will be heading to zoo Miami before long
Zoo Miami’s is great I’ll make my most favourites zoo list soon
