I’ve been there since 2015
I would like to know what songs do you use for your videos? They sound awesome and I want to jam them!
On days when parking is really bad, there's always the museum's parking lot you can use, since it's literally right next door.
@@classycthulhu8449Hermann Park plans on putting a parking garage next to Ben Taub hospital with a pedestrian overpass.
As a Texas resident I'm so glad you loved the houston zoo! It's definitely one of my favorites. To add to your points about the zoo changing currently from what I've heard the zoo plans to renovate the world of primates after they finish the new birds of the world Expansion next year. President of the Zoo, Lee Ehmke has also hinted various times that the next project will be focusing on the section called Asian Islands. This will give the Tiger, Siamang, White-cheeked Gibbon, Clouded Leopard, and Orangutan all new homes as well as a new outdoor home for Small clawed otters. They also plan on giving the Asian Elephants even more space with the future Asia renovations. After that though it gets a little bit more unknown but they have talked about finishing the African Forest and also making a much larger and greater Africa exhibit for their lions, cheetahs, Painted dogs and more. As well as possibly turning the Carruth Natural Encounters into a dedicated Madagascar section with new species of bats and also moving the fossa over. Other possibly future projects include turning the children's zoo into a more dedicated Texas exhibit, adding a second entrance and building a new reptile house. The Houston Zoo has been working constantly to improve the zoo and with how amazing their past 3 exhibits were with Texas Wetlands, The Pantanal and Galapagos Islands I have total faith they will knock all the future exhibits out of the park!
It's fantastic to hear about the ambitious plans the Houston Zoo has for its future expansions and renovations. It's evident that they are dedicated to creating innovative and immersive experiences for visitors while providing the best possible environments for the animals in their care. The Houston Zoo's commitment to continuous improvement and its willingness to adapt and grow are truly commendable. The excitement surrounding these future projects bodes well for the zoo and its visitors. 🐾🌿
Fun fact: The reticulated Python exhibit was actually once home to the famous albino alligator Blanco which is now a crocodile encounter in Arlington TX.
I remember him. From years ago

I'm from Houston. Been coming to this zoo for years, my whole life. This is by far my favorite zoo and it's only gonna keep improving.
Hopefully the zoo can finish their whole master plan. I'm most excited for the Madagascar section they plan
I liked the use of the maps in the video. It does help to visualize the location of the exhibits and zoo maps are also part of my zoo nerdig culture!
Before you visit the Houston Zoo, this video is a must-watch! It's a fantastic guide that offers a sneak peek into the incredible world of wildlife waiting for you there. The Houston Zoo's dedication to conservation and education is truly inspiring, making every visit an opportunity to connect with and learn about our planet's diverse creatures. Have you had a memorable experience at the Houston Zoo? Share your favorite animal encounter! 🦁🦍🦜
Thanks since i live in houston myself
Gotta check out this zoo. Especially for those mixed-species habitats. Gorillas and hogs? Very cool!
Oooh been waiting for this! This is my hometown and I'm happy to see you back
Galápagos Islands video on the way I can feel it 👀👀👀
THIS IS GREAT==U DO A VERY NICE TOUR AND A GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love my zoo. I’d add to please look at the keeper chat timings at the front when you walk in. You can plan your walk around with those in mind since keepers will educate and feed animals while you visit. This is great for kids that want to see the animals be active.
You should visit the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. It has made some very impressive upgrades the past few years.
Another Texas zoo that you should check out is the Fort Worth Zoo! I've gone there since I was a kid
i watched this after i went to the houston zoo will i die?
Leaf, it’s nice to see a Planet Zoo content creator who also watches Zoo Tours! I do too!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am glad Hermann Park is getting improved parking areas as part of there master plan.
The Waco Zoo is another great zoo in Texas! Living in Austin it’s a close option that the kids love!
Fun fact: the reason why the all indoor Red Panda enclosure is so inadequate and strange is because it was originally designed for a wombat. It later exhibited an aardvark, two ocelots, and finally the red pandas.
Wait, I remember the wombats, but then it felt like we switched to the red pandas overnight.
Did the zoo really have an aardvark and then some ocelots in there?
@@DarthQuell They sure did, I have an old map of the zoo with the aardvark on it and got to see it once myself. And the two ocelots were the same ones that were in the carnivore area who were then swapped out for the red pandas when their enclosure next to Natural Encounters was closed.
And before all that, the red pandas were originally in an exhibit that used to house koalas. I think that’s gone now though
The jaguars look like they’re worth the price of admission on their own. Hoping to tour Texas sooner rather than later.
This zoo is probably two AZA Exhibit awards away from being the best zoo in the US.
I hope you do the Dallas Zoo next
Ooh my gosh that's amazing I wish I could be there Me I am working park
6:51 the and more exhibit is pretty popular with the guests
can you do a watch this before you visit the brookfield zoo video please?
Well yippee-kayay! Zak, try to visit Bearizona & the Woodland Park Zoo sooner or later! And here are just 2 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend....
1) How many years ago did the Woodland Park Zoo originally house elephants before they moved away?
2) What year did the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy Of Sciences originally had the Fish Roundabout Tank?
Also remember you get discounted tickets if you have a lone star card😊
Could you do one for The National Zoo?
Primates! Yess
Anyone here for Planet Zoo inspiration, most notably the Carruth's Natural Encounters?
You need to go to San Antonio zoo
This is my #6 out of 38, although I find the giraffe exhibit sad
Ideas I had are:
1)expanding the giraffe exhibit where the rhino and backstage rhino exhibit is and turning the twiga cafe building into a giraffe feeding area. Then place the rhino in the large savanna exhibit and put the cafe in between the current carousel and the future medical center entry.
2)Or expand the rhino where the giraffe is now and place the cafe next to the carousel
i could swear that the zebra was with the giraffe in the african forest, but the map says otherwise
Moved across from the watusi most likely to give the giraffes more space.
Most recently the ostriches were also moved and now share or rotate with the zebras. Leaving the giraffes as a stand-alone exhibit
Whent today after over 5 years.. the zebras are where the capybaras used to be
Herman Park is the most beautiful park you have seen? So you have never been to State parks, National Parks, wilderness parks, wildlife management Parks, etc... That's very sad. You need to get away from the city and explore the world.
Didn't think I'd need to satisfy someone else's want and worry of where I've been in the world (even when it doesn't concern them) by specifying it is the best City park I've ever seen. I have been to Yellowstone, and several others of that nature.
what a weird thing to say to a guy who travels the country
