Great vid, I would have included 'After The War' from Dinamic Software. It contains two parts: the first is a side-scrolling beat em' up [outdoing the A500 conversions of 'Shinobi' and 'Final Fight' combined]. Its second part is a side-scrolling shoot em' up.
Thanks a lot! I'm not closed to re-works of my previous videos if necessary (I've done it once already). Just not straight away. I've that 10 part mini series to complete and couple more ideas in the back burner waiting for their time.
Ah, Golden Axe. I actually preferred the Amiga version to the arcade original... and it's nice for Doman to receive praise, since it tends to be forgotten.
Well, despite it being released in just one language, and a one that's not very international at that, Doman was a very decent beat'em up. Perhaps a bit too riddled with loading screens but fun nonetheless.
I actually would have had Sword or Sodan higher than some of your other choices... Yeah, it was flawed a bit. But it was an early Amiga game with huge characters! I remember having fun with it... I also remember accidentally leaving disk 3 in when I powered my Amiga, and got a little wavy screen demo. ;-) Loved finding that... Decent list...
Thanks! But - and I say it completely aware that I'm dissing my own video - after working on the "10 Years of Amiga Gaming Series" and going through 500-ish games for it, if I was to re-make this video, it would definitely look different. :)
I love motorhead actually cause it's got a nice sense of humour. Golden axe was great, until the mega drive one came out but sega done it themselves so of course it's good
Doman looks like Conan :) seems really interesting, I am still new to amiga, did you ever make a video with all "exclusive" amiga games that arent ports?
Doman is soooo good. Short of the loading every screen or two. I mean, it's not very troublesome from a player point of view other than stopping the gameplay for 5-20 seconds each time. And no, I haven't. But that's a neat idea for the video actually. Thanks! :)
Have you played "Yo! Joe!" or "Second Samurai"? If you have then I'm a little shocked you put "Skull & Crossbones", "Dynamite Dux" and "Shinobi" over those titles ;)
Yes, I have. Yo! Joe! is in this list th-cam.com/video/x8wO6GJk-ZU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=OldAndNewVideoGames But it's also bound for a remake at some point as working on the 10 years of... series opened my eyes to some games that I either forgot about or never knew of. So, at some point all my top10's will be remade.
strangers from 1997 should definitely be on this list, its soo much better than that awful pirate game, skulls.. somethin... its an aga only title released on cd by vulcan (its a croatian or slovak game afair). its basicaly a suped up renegade clone and i think while its no street of rage it deserves a place in the top 3. check it out, then redo this list:) i know you'll want to:) domark is cool only the controls are a bit strange i've found. best polish amiga game perhaps? also metro siege will annihilate this whole list,, lets hope sooner than never.
A game with a duck protagonist? Yes please! :D I'm severely unimpressed by gore and graphical violence in games, so I guess some of these in the list don't have much appeal for me. I did play Golden Axe though as a kid and it was ok. And also, I've never seen an anti-gravity pirate until now. Impressive. :D
@@OldAndNewVideoGames Yeah, I know. And in some cases it works and it's fine, but in others it's a bit much. But there are plenty of games out there of all kinds. :)
@@TeaAndFloppyDisks Oh definitely, don't make yourself play them. Just saying that there's plenty out there, and in some overly-bloody gameplay sometimes hides a gem. Moonstone is an excellent example. There's more blood in it than in any of the Mortal Kombats, and it's such an amazing party role playing board arcade game hybrid... Yes, I know I've listed many genres all at once... xD Oh, and I'm working on the email. It's a big one, so even if it's second day, it may still take me a little while. ;)
@@OldAndNewVideoGames Moonstone sounds really complex and interesting. :) I know there are good bloody games out there and then there's stuff like a game about Santa making elf ketchup and that's all the game. That's the kind of stuff I'll pass on. I'm sorry, I went overboard with the email... Please take all the time you need, I'm in no hurry.
@@TeaAndFloppyDisks You didn't go overboard and I will finish it tomorrow, provided I manage to do it before I go out. Cause I'll be back home at like 5am, and it's already the day after, so it doesn't count as tomorrow.

Doman looks cool, I would have loved it back in the day
Other than the constant pauses between the screens to load assets, which occur even on most powerful systems, it's a really cool game.

Final fight looked great for screenshots but it's control and motion and lack of music after the killer intro music.. is such a let down...

Yeah, Golden Axe was ace. So much better than Altered Beast, also from Sega.

Well, many games are rather violent. There's no way going around it. :/

Shinobi and double dragon were embarrassing. I was really disappointed when i bought them. At least i only used to buy pirated games:p but still...
I think nearly everyone used to. They were much cheaper and omni-present, at least where I'm from. :)
Final Fight is anything but a lazy port. Is a one man job in an extreme short timeframe and without access to original code/graphics
Well here you go, and I learned something new. Thanks!
