I was born in Dimapur, Nagaland and after my studies got settled in Assam. When I worked in Bangalore, Most of the people didn't even knew that Assam and Nagaland was even a state of India. There was so much less awareness that people also forgot what they learned about North East in their earlier school days.

This is all because of lack of knowledge, North east history must included national level Assamese Ahom,Manipuri meitei,Nagas,Khasi,Garo,Bodos, caxhari, Tripuri history,Arunachli ,bhutia tribes all history must included .... Northeast always have a powerful kingdom in the past ..mainland india forget North east have own unique cultures

There was never a history of any Indian rule over the North East We came under the Indian rule for the first time during the British Raj. So it was by default that we came under Indian rule after independence. Your knowledge is very sketchy at best madam.

After independence most part of northeast wanted independence, but due to the might of the Indian military we had to ultimately peacefully sign the instrument of accession....which is not the instrument of merger signed by other states...if the Indian government had implemented this ... north east would have been peaceful

Nehru put him in charge of North East Frontier Agency (present day Arunachal) where Christianity is not in majority. Elwin must be rolling in his grave listening to these "Intellectuals" 😂

The present region of the "Northeast India", was never a part of India. It is is presently part of the political map of modern India simply because of Indian military occupation. It continues to bear the brunt of this military occupation through the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), in force for the last 66 years since 1958. AFSPA is a draconian extra-constitutional Act, enforced in the northeast because India doesn't consider it a part of India. The best arrangement would be, we should be good neighbors instead of a forced marriage.
