  • Welcome to Lifestyle with Sophie, a channel dedicated to lifestyle and interiors content.
Today’s video is an updated apartment tour for my 1 bedroom rental property in London. It’s a small flat and I would say fairly minimalistic which is needed given the space, as any sense of mess feels cluttered and makes me feel stressed!
I have tried to use simple rental hacks to make this place feel homely but in line with my tenancy. I will be doing a video on rental hacks soon so subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss it!
To see the transformation from this flat 2 years ago to now, the link for my previous apartment tour is below so check it out. If you enjoyed this video don't forget to like and subscribe, i'd really appreciate it.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy.

Pretty apartment. ❤ But it is wise not to keep your makeup bag near the toilet. I read somewhere that even toothbrushes etc., should be kept away from the toilet because even if the bowl is clean, there can be germs that could land on items that a person would put in their mouth. Just sharing some advice that I also follow.

Thank you so much ❤️ and I agree it’s definitely not the best spot for it - I am trying to work out a better solution but as you can see space is a little limited!

As long as you close the lid to flush & keep it closed when not in use, it's fine. Droplets and/or bacteria can travel up to 30 feet when you flush with the lid up.

Nicely done space! The high ceilings and wood beams really add character - after all - we actually live in cubic volume and not square feet. Obviously, a smaller square footage of a floorplan (370 sq ft) will seem and feel a lot bigger with a higher vaulted ceiling - than not. Also, you have to be fairly observant to even realize that you must in fact have to step over the couch to even get at the Peleton - yet the overall feel is that of a completely separate exercise room! I have seen many a flat that is much bigger than yours yet nowhere near as classy and comfortable - again - well done!

Thanks for your comment Steve! Good spot - I do have to climb over the couch to get to the Peloton but honestly it’s not an issue at all and is a nice segregation of the space as you say. I agree re the beams/high ceiling - they make a huge difference (although not great for the heating bill!)

Hi Helen, I got it from Cherish home, looks like it is out of stock at the moment (size large) but they do have lots of other lovely pieces! Link here: cherishhome.co.uk/products/set-of-2-round-herringbone-mango-wood-circular-trays

This came up on my feed, and whilst I did enjoy it, I found it very offputting when you talk into the camera you’re looking at yourself rather than the camera eye so your eyes aren’t looking directly to the people watching. Look at your video and see what I mean. It’s easier for people when they think you’re talking directly to them.❤

Appreciate your feedback Aisling! This is an area I know I need to work on - practice makes perfect ❤️

I agree 100%. I don't understand why one would "talk to themselves" rather than their audience. A lot of TH-cam creators do it though. 🤷‍♀️ I enjoyed the video, nonetheless. 😊

Adding another couple of pictures in your bathroom would add to a more finished look.

Without seeming condescending I heard you repeat erm erm erm 🫤 I did find this a little try learn not to say this in ur daily vocabulary. I understand u are a bit nervous. However you can buy a tin of gloss paint and you can change pillow cases I advise you buy a slightly smaller case which will puff ur pillow up. You can buy didn’t wattage for ur lamps plant needs repotting if ur wandering perhaps too much light for it can I suggest round mirrors by side of bed and fluffy rugs either side of bed perhaps get larger lamp shades for side lamps 😊

I think round mirrors & larger lamps would look too busy in such a small bedroom. The existing lamps are lovely & the perfect size. ❤

I would probably buy some stick on/ peel off vinyl and cover the top bit of the toilet where you have the reed diffuser to cover up the mess. Maybe you could get one of those bathroom shelf units that hang over the glass for your bathroom essentials. If your Landlord won't repaint over the mess in the kitchen you could put up some stick on removable tiles and be quite inexpensive. The flat is surprisingly spacious and you have decorated it nicely.
