Thank you for this video, I’ve got my late grandfather’s old watch which has a broken strap, it’s a cheap standard watch and nothing fancy, but I’d like to wear it myself as he left it as my inheritance. By making the watch strap myself, hopefully he’ll approve, being a very resourceful and handy man himself. Remember, tell your near and dear that you love them, tomorrow may be too late!
My kids paid about $375 for the watch I have now and it’s the most expensive watch I’ve ever had! I love it! Made a Shell Cordovan band for it! I love it!
This is the EXACT video I need right at this moment! As I write this I am wearing the one I made with your simple style band but have been mulling stepping it up a notch. You're timing is right on. Thanks!
I'm still a beginner so I am wondering what oz leather you use for this. So many creators make these videos without mentioning what weight or oz leather they are using.
but NATO and Leather is just 2 different spectrum, NATO straps were used because they’re waterproof and simple, contrary to leather that needs more caring and not suitable for hard environment, contrary to what a NATO strap is for
😊😊😊очень круто! Спасибо за видео, сам занимаюсь кожевенным ремеслом и стал делать ремешки для часов. Вижу друг у тебя тоже командирские часы, я тоже такие ношу😅
CW GMT watch? Great looking strap! I grabbed a cheap leather bag from goodwill with a broken zipper to use as pre-vintaged leather for a set of straps.
What a fantastic result. Thanks for taking the time to show us such an interesting process. I'm a watch nerd and making my own straps is one of my dreams. New sub!
I could not find on this video, or your other watch strap videos, what weight of leather you were using or recommend. Any recommendations on leather weights?
Still love your videos for the pure simplicity of the recording while also showing everything important in a great way (if that makes sense). Ive made a few watch straps as well, some of them so nice, that im confidently saying this isn't far off from very professional watch strap makers, some not very well... Probably due to different types of leather that were not really well suited for watch straps. Though what I've encountered almost all of the time (and can't get my head around it why that is), that the stitch line on the left is just a tiny bit shifted to the inside of the strap Than the left stitch line. Ive used the exakt same divider space and so on but can't get it to be perfectly even on both sides.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your strap making videos, sir. I've tried making some with an old belt. I also bought a piece of leather that is about 2.5 mm thick, and when I tried to put spring bars in and install into a watch, it seems the leather is way too thick. Am I missing something, or should I be getting thinner leather? When you use a liner, how thick is it? Thanks for any insight here. Keep up the great content!
Do you happen to have a link for that nylon strip with the sticky back. Coulnd't find it on Buckleguy and i think that may be perfect for solving a probelm i've been having
I recently made two bags with thin shoulder straps. I had the same question. I live in Germany and in my city we have a store for sewing supply, from fabric to buttons to machines. I got it there, patches of nylon with sticky back.
If you are not able to find it… perhaps you could recycle a very lightweight give-away backpack (the kind you are given by a company at a trade show) and make it double stick with the rubber cement glue… it’s what I plan on doing for the handles of a really nice purse I’ve got.
Everyone! I found a very similar item! (looked forever too) It's not the exact one, but it's worked on my bags. Rocky Mountain Leather supply (took them like 4 weeks to send, but whatever). Search for "tape".
Being new to leather crafting I would like to know specifically what materials you used for this project. For instance what leather, what glue, what cording, what burnishing… Your link to the project shows every tool possible. It would be nice if you could be more specific.😎😎
I’m moving out of Texas to Virginia soon and I really feel like I should accentuate that I’m from Texas by making a custom leather strap for my Iwatch LMAO So this is gonna be a good tutorial for me!
I love the video. Great instructional video. The constant creaking of leather (added in post i'm sure as there is no leather moving when the sound occurs) is distracting to the point that I had to turn off sound and turn on the subtitles only. Great video and saved for later projects!
What size hole punch is recommended, 1.5mm or 2mm? When shopping buckles they don't mention what hole size is needed for the locking part. If I was to buy a hole punch tool, what size would be the best bet?
If you do design your own watch pattern, be sure to remind yourself to add or reduce length in the center of the pattern pieces so you don't have to remake the pattern for larger or smaller wrists.
I want to start makeing leather stuff so badly but i have searched weeks for place to buy leather but in my country there just isnt a place. I guess i need to found leather in amazon and pay 5X the price )=
There is no “right way” to make a watch strap. Whatever works for you, I personally like a full stitched straight through width strap with one fixed keeper and one size hole, all made the fit perfectly.
You might find it much more comfortable to wear your watch a little higher on your wrist so the crown doesn't dig into the back of your hand when you bend it.
Hello Sir... Pls I'm really interested in this.. I'm from Nigeria and looking forward to having my own watch strap brand. I'll like to order for tools for creating straps... And I'll like to grow under your mentorship sir!.

this brought my TNMT watch to a level
Making my first strap tonight. Thanks for this. You are a master craftsman.
That band on a Hamilton khaki would look so nice. Great video!
My kids paid about $375 for the watch I have now and it’s the most expensive watch I’ve ever had! I love it! Made a Shell Cordovan band for it! I love it!
😍
I tried to make a watch band for the first time! I want to attach it to my favorite watch 😊
This is the EXACT video I need right at this moment! As I write this I am wearing the one I made with your simple style band but have been mulling stepping it up a notch. You're timing is right on. Thanks!
This was a great video! I made my first watch strap about 6 months ago and it was very similar! Thank you for what you do!!
"Thanks for watching.." Nice video!
Your design is excellent. Wonderful craftsmanship . Thank you for sharing .
VERY GREAT JOB. YOUR WORK IS TRULY INCREDIBLE. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK 👏👏👏❤️
I'm still a beginner so I am wondering what oz leather you use for this. So many creators make these videos without mentioning what weight or oz leather they are using.
I think it’s 2-3 Oz and inside piece he mentions 1 1/2 oz
Great video and awesome craftsmanship! Just a suggestion, always change straps at the back of the lugs so you don't scratch the front.
Great tutorial. Made it easy for me too. Thanks
Beautiful! I’d love to see a NATO strap in leather. Thanks for your hard work!

Nice work, and does suit the Glycine better than the metal band
Looks fantastic! What thickness leather do you recommend for straps?
Omg I am heading to Michael's to get supplies. I love the video
CW GMT watch? Great looking strap!
I grabbed a cheap leather bag from goodwill with a broken zipper to use as pre-vintaged leather for a set of straps.
why didn't I think of that???
Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. Enjoyed watching your leathercrafting skills used on your channel.
Cannot WAIT to make one!
What a fantastic result. Thanks for taking the time to show us such an interesting process. I'm a watch nerd and making my own straps is one of my dreams. New sub!
Of course you make this look so easy! Thanks again for a wonderful video!
I could not find on this video, or your other watch strap videos, what weight of leather you were using or recommend. Any recommendations on leather weights?
Great video, strap looks really good, nice job.
Love your work!
Looks like you're sporting the Helson Shark Diver today. Love the worn brown strap with the brass case.
Loved watching it! Thx
Thank you for the tutorial.
so much talent!

Nice job, sir. Thanks for sharing. What is the final thickness of the strap?
Yeah, what’s the weight? Buckle boy page left us to choose ourselves.

Yes I am wondering the same thing.
Yes, definitely would like to find this as well.

So this is gonna be a good tutorial for me!
Nice!
Thanks 👍
Thank you!
It's not being lazy when you're being efficient. ;)
Great looking strap and a true gmt bezel should be bi-directional.
Very nice,

I need that knife you're using 😊
Gonna have to finally restrap my MVMT watch. It came with such a cheap band.
The re-enforcement tape is a pain in the butt to find. However, I have found a good supplier, Made on Jupiter, with reasonable prices.
thank you for the leather craft review Greetings from MF Original Leather
🙏🤝
What is the nylon strip you are using? Where is it available? Thanks
Sağol Usta 🙌 🍁✂️🧵
Love your work and videos! Can you tell me the brand of the nylon strips, is it Beldon? Thanks

Good job, congratulations. I have a question: Is it the same kind of leather the one on the inside than the one on the outside of the strap?
No, they are different
@@jimwatchyycThank you.
What is the bronze diver? It looks amazing on that strap.
Looks like a Helson Shark in bronze.
Buenas tardes desde Colombia......una pregunta en los cantos después de pintura lo que le aplica es cera de abejas?

"flesh on flesh connection" 👍
I love ❤️
Do the prongs on your hole punching tools make leaning holes or are they straight only?
Almost caught a glimpse of Bruce Wayne
What is the best number or measurement of the thread used in sewing?
Which watch u r wearing sir
It’s a nice watch really….
That looks like a Christopher Ward C 60 Trident bronze on your wrist in the video. Is it ?
You may have said this somewhere, but what brand of glue do you use?
What weight of leather was the wickett and Craig??!!! Help!
謝謝~
What thickness of leather is needed to make it?
I want to start makeing leather stuff so badly but i have searched weeks for place to buy leather but in my country there just isnt a place. I guess i need to found leather in amazon and pay 5X the price )=

What type of waxed thread & size used for swing 150d 1mm or thinner?
What size is the prong punch for the stitching?
I know other people have said this before, but you really need a lavalier mic or something like that. Thanks for the video!
I'm new at this craft but very interested can you help me with any info that could help me get into the hobby of this kind pls
Can you kindly use mm or cm for measurements please ?
There is no “right way” to make a watch strap. Whatever works for you, I personally like a full stitched straight through width strap with one fixed keeper and one size hole, all made the fit perfectly.
Was that 11" x 20" x 6oz?
Where can I get one of those brass knife handles?

Nice glycine.
What's name of this watch ?
I thought my phone was haunted at about 27 minutes in lol
The camera focusing sound on this particular video is a bit overboard. What happened?
I've noticed this quite a bit in the last few videos - I think they got a new camera but it's very irritating!
Fajne ale za szybko mówi 👍
Did you wipe that excess glue on your pants? 😁
