Glad you got to review Le Lion I picked up a 200 ml of this the day I smelled for the first time. This is my favorite fragrance I purchased this year besides portrait of a lady!
Aaron you have my favourite house for dark, thick, nighttime fragrances by far, and Chanel is my favourite house for anything light. Always love seeing the respect you have for the different style of perfumery
I went into my local John Lewis to the Chanel stand and she was the same... First class customer's service and no pushy sales acts. Obviously train their staff very well
It's not a perfume that stands out to me at first, but then, the drydown last forever and getting whiffs during the next 10-12 hours is delightful... It's kind of powdery but smells like woody honey... It's honestly great! It's just very expensive hence why I don't have a bottle yet, but it is definitely on my wishlist!
The first time I tried this fragrance, I put it on a blotter and I really liked it, but I didn't buy it. Then I applied it to the blotter a couple of times during the year when I was in the clothing store and also enjoyed it at home, sometimes sniffing it, and that time the consultant offered to put it on my hand which i didn't. Once, after some time, I visited a friend and what do you think? Le lion lay on the shelf, and this time I did put on my hand. After that, even when it left, days later, this fragrance appeared in the brain, although I had something else on me and I realized that I had to take it! One of my favorite fragrances, but I perfectly understand what you mean by saying that it is not for you. Imagine a wild lion's mane was perfumed with a very light vanilla patchouli citrus scent, and after 5-6 hours when the scent almost gone you buried yourself in the lion's mane. That's how Le Lion smells to me! A very gentle Chanel-like restrained animalic perfume. Very much for me! Oh and that incense note in the heart of the scent.. As if this lion is a frequent visitor to a shaman who often burns incense.
Since you've tried most od the Chanels, and I consider myself a Chanel conisseur, I must again recommend you next try Antaeus by Chanel which is one of the two Chanels made to be slightly dirty animalic. You would like it.
With that glitter-star sound effect at the start, it's about time computers should get smart enough to follow your waving hand around and insert all those glimmering stars at all the right places. Video is less without it. Especially on xmas. Also, before I clicked on the video, I said to myself "Aaron's going to pronounce lion in the regular English way." You should do a video with Clemence once, her English with a heavy French accent and your French with heavy English accent would complement each other well. And the both of you have great personalities. Love how you gave the shop a bit of airtime. All customers should be treated with respect, always. And without preconceived notions and prejudices. Bergamot is so perfect, it even goes with tea. :P
Great review, great fragrance! My experience in the Chanel boutique at Holt Renfrew, Vancouver has always been top notch as well. Not pushy and very professional!
The only way to test channel is spraying on skin only and keep smelling your arm for 2 hours to identify the notes and changes to get the real story of the frag.
It's a very technical description, so it's interesting but for non professionals I think it doesn't tell at all how it smells. For me it has a leathery animalic feel. I appreciate it but I'm not sure if I like it.
Interestingly you almost didn’t mention the labdanum. A wonderful ingredient. I think it’s a bridging ingredient, to get the citrus scents and woody scents balanced out and bound together. I have come to really appreciate and like it since smelling this component for the first time. When I’m ready to compose a fragrance for my skincare line (in development and it will be in a separate bottle so people have a choice to add it or not) I will definitely include labdanum in it.
I really didn't enjoy this fragrance at all, although I couldn't articulate exactly why, perhaps because it smells old fashioned. Although I like strong fragrance I felt this was too strong, but that's probably because it has notes that don't agree with my taste. A great review, as usual x
@Aaron could you review one of the following discontinued fragrances from by Kilian - Apple Brandy (OG), Single Malt, Straight to Heaven EXTREME? These are my top boozy fragrances forever. I would be very interested in your point of view:) Many thanks..
I regret wearing this to work although I enjoyed the experience I am not sure others felt the same way. This stuff is just opulent and ridiculous in a way. 😂
either you love or you dislike Chanel perfumes we have to admit that all their scents have a delicate-classy aura
definitely
There are perfume reviewers and then there’s Aaron… Aaron is the niche version of perfume reviews!!! Love your work!!!!!

That’s amazing. I know how hard it is to create fragrance which is why I try to be respectful

Didn't know that Chanel operates in stands or am I misinterpreting something?
I just love Aaron’s wonderful voice and the quality of his audio set-up. Like someone else mentioned, enjoyed listening to the Selfridges anecdote.
I’ve been waiting for this for so long, clicked right away as i saw the notification ! I’d like to see you review Coromandel one day too !
January 22
Yes coromandel! What Santa brought me this year 😂
@@AaronTerenceHughes Awesome news !
How about Boy? 😜
@@petervanderpas1615 i think he’d like it actually
Aaron, another perfect review from you. Your reviews are the GOLD standard on how fragrances should be reviewed on TH-cam.
Deep deep facts.
I love this perfume. Wore it as my wedding scent almost a year ago. Thank you for your detailed review!
The little stories about your purchases really are great! Love it!
I love this fragrance. It is so comforting and it stays for more than 48 hours on my skin. That is after the shower too. It is absolutely insane.
I get Shalimar and Ambre Sultan vibes from Le Lion also. The citrus up top with the amber, Incense and leather accords are a very interesting mix.

This one’s a my Christmas gift for myself. It’s beautiful perfume. Stunning, gorgeous and addictive
I agree. It was my Christmas gift to myself in 2020. It will always remind me of Christmas in church with Incense burning.
Its my 2024 perfume gift 🎁 ❤
Please review Chanel Coromandel! Would love your take on that one.

Is Leon perfume better than Coromandel? Please help me, as I am torn between choosing Leon or Coromandel
Le Lion is a million times better than Coromandel.
I couldn’t try it at the boutique only buy it so missed very interesting
its time for your top 10 of the year Aaron 😁
You have a Soothing voice. At last a reviewer that doesn't shout! 😅🥰

Fr tho. Spraying chanel fragrance on paper strips is waste.
True you can't smell chanel on yourself if you spray it behind the ear or neck
Like you're take on fragrances and reviews, just subscribed I'm looking forward to trying out some of your fragrances
I keep hearing good things about John Varvatos Vintage. I'd love to see what you think of it.
Great review, as usual! Maybe you can do one for Sycomore. Cheers!

My favourite of all les Exclusifs and the quality of their extraits. I am suprised it is not popular.
Love your reviews bro
Another superb review.
Great video!
Good release, like Coromandel more though
I love it, I find it smoky, does anyone get that?
Ah man I’m so sad you didn’t like this. It was love at first sniff for me. I wonder if it would grow on you
It's a very technical description, so it's interesting but for non professionals I think it doesn't tell at all how it smells. For me it has a leathery animalic feel. I appreciate it but I'm not sure if I like it.
It's not leather, it's the labdanum that gives that smokey incency leather vibe and i love it
@@pullingthestrings5233 there is no real "leather" extract so yes it's always a mix of other notes.
Great review as always!!!
More of cold weather fragrance.
I see Aaron uploads, I click. Simples

Crown royal sultan would be a great review!
LEYKIS loves this channel.
I get a 1740 vibe as well. Great scent though
Merry Humbug Unicorn fam! 🦄
To my nose, all I smelled was a bandaid. Did not like even 1%. I had high hopes because of the name.
did you get an animalic opening? i did when i tried this one. do you think its unisex?
i do think its unisex
Remarkable review
Don't know but I find this parfum more for women than man or unisex, it reminds me of habit rouge de Guerlain. Classic parfum not for everyone
Wishing everyone here a great and happy new year,,,, like it very very much )
Please review BOY by Chanel
Try golden dallah from Xerjoff
Pronounced as "lu(h) lee-on"

The Chanel thing, masculine. Not for me.😘
The woman at Chanel didn’t know who you were… your ego is showing
