Wow they are big. I am starting to grow some here in Kuranda Queensland How close should they be to each other, and I have heard that Gula salak dont need hand pollination or male salak, is that true? thanks for sharing your video
Hii Johnny Kay, that's amazing.. So, how is your salak tree doing in Queensland? The distance used to plant salak tree is 2 x 2 meters, with 1,800 clumps of plants per hectare. Yes salak Gula Pasir don't need hand pollination, it's monoecious.
@@thesnakefruit3063 My salak are doing well, I had my first small crop this year only 2 female plants so far,the seed I get from the fruits I will try to germinate they will be Australian first generation salak that will have Kuranda soil genetics , Im hoping more females will come from them, I have approx 8 males and 2 females.

Yes it is, and it can grow up to maximum height of 5 meters tall.
