The city has Etruscan origins, the only one on the eastern bank of the Tiber; the inhabitants of Bettona are mentioned in Pliny and in other ancient authors and inscriptions. It was named "Vettona".
In the period in which Umbria fell under Roman control, Bettona was elected a municipality (Vettona) and became part of the Clusturmina and Lemonia colonies. These hill towns in central Italy had the same ambition when they were created. Beautiful greenery scenery surrounded them. I enjoyed the drone intro looking at the scenic view, other towns far away, breath-taking. This is a beautiful town like the rest in central Italy. Thanks for video.
Agreed Esther, there’s always some kind of “magic” on these kind of towns; people are nicer, more “real” as well when I meet them. There’s always some hidden gems here and there as well.. Sad some churches were closed but yet… beautiful town. Umbria is “green” as they say… Wish you a nice Sunday and to the next video

Cute, pretty little Umbrian town. And very neat. The alleyways are so narrow, I thought that you were going to get squashed by the car in the beginning, Riccardo.
I noticed little bags(?) hanging on a lot of the doors, usually red. Some even on the walls. Do you know the significance?

Geraldine ciao! Liked Bettona very much as well; what a quiet town… compared to where I am now ( a sea-town…) it feels like paradise) Fresh and almost deserted. But that car almost squashed me for real)
