  • Whether it's because of acne, weight, upcoming wedding or period pain, most women in the US are offered birth control as a quick-fix oral solution. But what physicians such as Dr. Jennifer Mercier are finding today is that these synthetic hormones are not advisable for long-term fertility and health, nor the best answer to problems or circumstances many women face today. So before you add BC to your honeymoon packing list, listen to this episode and see if there's a better route for you as you're planning your life with your dear future husband.

This was very informative Christian, thank you.. yet I still have so many concerns. I am in my late 30’s, single, and have used birth control pills for 4 years. It has completely removed my acne (my skin has never looked better) and painful/heavy periods (the worst!), however.. I know this is not a long-term fix and especially as I pray for a husband I realize it’s not the way to go. However, I’m very anxious about the acne and horrible periods returning big time. 🙁 Praying about it!

Hi Nicole! It is truly a in-depth topic. I’m glad you’re praying into long term health. Dr. Mercier and others have some fascinating studies. I wonder if they have some on acne and detoxing from the pill?
