I Think You Should Consider Buying M2 but you should buy it with 16gb of ram and 512gb or 1TB of ssd because there is a lot of storage issue in MacBook I am a gamer and I run Fortnite and Genshin impact in M1 model its playable at 120fps but only Fortnite take up more than 100 gb of storage so buy M2 but with more storage.
The main issue with M2 macs is that the base model storage is too slow. If you're buying an M2 MacBook which has 256 gb base, go with 512gb atleast. If it has 512gb base, go with 1TB atleast. But, still I would recommend getting the MacBook Air M1 with 16GB RAM. It would satisfy all your requirements.
Watching this video on MacBook M1 and M1 is still worth to buy as it is still capable of doing day to day work for students very easily and some 4k or 1080p editing very easily
