As a Filipino, yes!… we filipinos are so emotional that we often express our feeling through songs. I actually did this thing before having lost both my parents. I actually cried a river watching this vid just because once again, I miss both my parents!..😭😭😭
its NOT a Performance. Its a tribute. Its his way of saying his feelings, goodbye etc. Filipinos are genuinely good singers. felt the sadness in his voice, thw grief, pain... its emotional.
It takes more than being a man with true and honest love and devotion to a wife. Singing to a wife is very touching, singing to a lifeless wife is a strength and indescribable love. I admire you man, god bless you.
For those who are weirded out or just wondering how this man pull through this heart wrenching moment need to understand, Filipinos have a strong, deeply rooted singing culture; we sing in practically every occasions, students sing during graduations, during weddings, birthdays and even funeral wakes, restaurant staff sings for customers, office people sings for colleagues, random people singing in malls. We are emotional and affectionate people and the most common way we express this is through singing and music. For this reason alone proves that this man was able to say his final goodbye to his wife in the highest form possible that is through singing.
Thanks so much for sharing this. What you elaborated are things that I have come to love and appreciate about the Filipinos I know in life. Another is is how they respect, honor and take care of old people.
According to the story, this man is a seafarer. Wife fell ill while he was away. He was waiting to come home to her, but she did not make it. She was unable to wait for him. She died without him there. This is his final tribute to her whom he loved so much. He held it all in according to the relatives. RIP to her. Truly sad yet amazing all the same.

I've read that it's actually on the 3rd day of the wake when he comes home for her. He’s the captain of an international ship. He asked for an hour of privacy with her; to sing his. love and lament.
The video has evoked intense emotions within me. It's absolutely tearing me apart. The guy in it is so emotional - his hand and head gestures, body language, everything! He leans on the coffin and taps his foot like he's experiencing a whirlwind of anger and sadness. As he sings this song, It's impossible for me not to feel for him as he cries his heart out. The part at 4:10 hits me hard, especially when his hand clenches into a fist. This whole video is insanely beautiful yet so depressing for me. It's bringing up a lot of emotions for me personally since one of my best friend's dad passed away just nine days ago, and it's been three years since my own father's passing. The man's poignant gestures and expression of emotions while singing have resonated with me; I can't help but feel the same inconsolable sadness I experienced at the loss of my father while watching this video.
I’ve read that after he sing the song, he broke up in tears. This is the way he express his love and loneliness without her. Imagine you will wake up each morning without your wife beside you? That was the hardest thing. Like you get used to be with her. I never knew true love still exist after I watch this. The way he sang it, the lyrics goes to my deepest soul. Here in the Philippines, most of us use to do this especially if the person who died is so close to our hearts. I’ve been crying the entire time watching this.
If somebody listen to him with clear ears-- you can tell the emotion in his voice. I wish we could see his face. To pour out your heart to the one you promised to love and behold til death do you part. He must have love her too much and probably will be missing her terribly knowing the fact that she's no longer there to wait for his return from work that kept him away for many months. I sing each time I remember my parents, it's my consolation to myself because I wasn't there when they passed away. I sing when I missed them. 7:07
@@rosemariebation9772Ma'am that man sang the song without breaking out like most of the normal people would do in this heart wrenching scenario. I bet no one can do this like he did.
Oh my god I'm crying again. How many times I watch this. Yes for me too singing is the way I comfort myself wether I am sad worried or lonely or happy, you will know in the songs I sung what emotions and status I'm into 😢
Losing control of his voice at the end means nothing. The fact that he didn't lose control at the beginning while trying to sing this to his wife is the amazing thing to me. Unreal. I could barely get through a speech at my loved ones' funeral. This guy just sang a whole beautiful ballad to his soul mate, who is gone now. But I think he knows she was listening and he gave it everything he had left. My heart goes out to this guy. My heart grieves for him.
I watched a lot of reaction videos to this already and yet I still cry each time. The pain and emotions in his voice I could hear them. A bittersweet tribute to the love of his life, everyone grieves differently.
I still remember when my father sing a song at the funeral of my mom it really hits different. Like a man in despair begging to the Lord to my mom, hiding tears but being broken 😢
I remember the day my grandpa died, all of my uncles along with my father, sat down and shared a moment of silence and tears. After that, my father started playing the piano and all of them sang my grandpas favorite songs, one by one all day while waiting for the funeral home to finish up. I sat there just thinking to myself, realizing that how music brings people together, and how it can also leave a legacy once you're gone. Filipinos love to sing no matter the emotion, may it be happy, angry, or sad.
This is a wake which typically lasts 5 days to 2 weeks depending on whether they still have relatives coming from abroad. I read that he used to sing to his wife all the time (and with a voice like that, I'm assuming she loved it). I also read that he asked for everyone to leave except for his kids so he can sing to her. And he broke down afterwards.
This is normal for the Filipino culture. My siblings and I sang at my dad's wake. My sister, a very good singer, sang at both my younger brothers' wakes. This is how we expressed our sadness and love for our dearly departed.
he literally requested everyone to leave inside and he said that he just want him and her children inside. no other people and then that's when he starts to sing for his wife 😢❤
Wow!! that was awesome.it's just so touching to know that he sang with lots of feelings with me imagining if i fall in a situation like this, it's just so emotional showing how we humans can express our grief into this kind of darkest hour and the song was so fitting in a tribute so full of emotions and grief. this is so great.

And because of that love.. accepting reality.. would have been bearable.. happy... If you felt every lyric of the song he sung, that’s when you can tell that he sung it from his heart. Even if you don’t have a good voice, just singing a song and letting go all out all at once, it will be felt. I can feel how he grieve, “Sana nasa tabi mo ako sa huling sandali”, “i wish i was beside you in your last moments “ in English, can be translated better..it’s hard to imagine, for better or for worst, till death do as part and yet you were too late to be there in her very last breath..that’s got to be the most painful moment in a man’s life.
Thank you for reacting this, the song really embodied the emotion of the husband towards his wife as the lyrics say how can you heal a brokenheart in which what the husband is feeling now that his wife past away, his heart was really broken and it's hard for him to heal and move on because his wife died without him beside her most espcially when his wife is ill..sometimes you poured out your emotions through singing.keep safe always and your family..sending love, hugs and kisses..🙏❤🤗😘🇵🇭
Beautiful voice and a heart breaking scene. I lost my wife too and there is no way I could have done this at the hospital when I last laid eyes on her (but I sang to her in private quite a bit). She died just 5 years ago and this video broke me. Thank you for the cleansing cry today.
From what I’ve read in several comments who watched the original post which is from one of his kids, he held it in the whole song, he did break down later after that
He’s singing from the depths of his soul. Filipinos can express their sadness, sufferings, sorrows, frustrations, disappointments as well as happiness, victories and successes through music. It is their way of communicating with their own self. It helps ease the burden of what they’re going through- if they know there’s no other recourse. The delivery of the song can make you feel and understand the message from the depth of his emotions. Because it’s real…genuine…sincere.
He is a ship captain who arrived 3 days after his wife died. The one filming the video is his son. They asked everyone at the wake to step out of the funeral home so he can have personal time with his wife, his son and daughter, that is when he sang his heart out and his son filmed it.
I feel your eternal love to your wife. It's hard to go on when you lost your world which is your wife. Continue to live man, wishing your heart be heal and happiness and peace😢
when my Father died as well 2 years ago, I sang at the last night of his funeral while playing the organ. We haven't seen each other for 13 years and then when the time came for us to reunite, he is already inside of his coffin. I was graduating in college at that time and I don't know how to move on with life. I am now currently working as a teacher. I miss him so much even if I only have glimpse of memory of him when I was young. I'm from the Ph as well. It brings me back to those times while watching this video.

I couldnt finish listening to this. Felt his pain. My sincere condolence to this guy. May your wife rest in peace in heaven. Your wife heard you from heaven.
Such a moving moment to the heart of a man to sing a love song for his wife even at the end of life in the time of her funeral. Lord bless such a tribute because it speaks of your love of man and woman til death do them part. Silently sobbing seeing this fleeting moment of emotion for a dearly departed. True indeed for a husband and wife as ordained by God "til death do us part"
Reminds me when my close friend since high school passed and she was in a choir and sang for gigs and she had a great voice. She had an epileptic seizure which led her falling and hitting with her head first. My friend group had an intimate singing/jamming session and sang all of her favorite songs and we pulled it through and after the singinh, we all broke down and cried. We're all Filipinos and this happened Dec of 2023
Mabuhay❤ Salamat for watching. I cried myself as well, such a heart felt genuine husband dedicated a song for his wife.Wish True Love exist. Because i am awaiting for my knight and shining armor.💔❤️🕊️
It seems that he serenade his wife as if she's standing in front of him. And those are the words that describe how much he loves and having a hard time letting her go
What a tough man, he sing it perfectly even the lyrics and the song itself is hurting him, just for his wife he will finish the song. You're a tough man "kabayan" and my condolences .
We did the same thing. During my aunt's wake. Me, my brother and my cousin (my aunts only kid) he was crying his heart out. Me and my brother continued, my brother playing the guitar, me doing vocals and harmonica.
Its really heartbreaking to watch him singing for his wife its really sad too all the sadness but his wife now can feel no more pain. Your right music and singing is the best to comfort anyone on the situation like this
So sad it’s a beautiful gesture Philippians are known to sing very well and are very emotional people I have many friend from the Philippians it’s so sad my husband is dying and it made me cry so much ❤❤❤❤

I have such mixed feelings about this. If you are really feeling this, how do you perform? There are a handful of songs I cannot get through because the emotions they bring are too much for me. To sing almost any song under these heartbreaking circumstances would be impossible for me
Agree, but then again, we're not all the same. Some of us wouldn't be able to speak, let alone sing, and some would be brave enough to try and do this beautifully like this respectful man. I sang at my grandma's funeral and it wasn't easy, but I'm not sure if I had to strength to sing for my wife like this, my throat would be so dry from sobbing... I don't even wanna think about it
Not all are that strong to sing through it all the way, we all cope with the death of our loved ones differently…we don’t know how much he had bottled up since he was not there when she passed…from what I read he was a captain of a ship, and he was still at sea when she passed, this was taken the 3rd day of the wake and the same day he also arrived and was given an alone time with her where its just their kids in the room with them when he sang, and some in the comment section said he did cry after this
Filipinos has this culture of singing on every emotion we face in life.. happy, sad, in love, angry, hateful, afraid, mourning, etc... just that singing comes natural in filipinos, which are mostly blessed with great singing voices.
I heard he used to sing to her all the time, and based on his singing voice, she must have enjoyed it. There was no audience, he asked everyone except for his kids to stay.
We Filipinos in general express ourselves in songs almost in whatever occasion we are in. In courting a girl, we have HARANA. During Holy Week, or remembering the death of Christ, we have PASYON. In Tagalog provinces, death is celebrated with singing during wakes. Friends in a drinking spree pass the microphone from one drinker to another . In the Visayas, particularly in Leyte. vendors sing numbers while counting dried fish hehehe. In fact, a Filipino house isn't complete without a karaoke machine. When someone burst in song next to you, he must be a Filipino HAHAHA. We are always singing.
A beautiful tribute by a brave man... Would you ever be able to do something like this?
He's so brave I could never😭 even only If I'm the one behind the camera I would burst out crying and I will hug that man😢😢 It's very sad may she rest in peace

Very touched with the rendition of the song in a very emotionally charged way. God bless you and may she rest in peace.
I couldnt finish listening to this. Felt his pain. My sincere condolence to this guy. May your wife rest in peace in heaven. Your wife heard you from heaven.
And then he cried after singing for a longtime alone😢😢😢😢
I can’t sing that perfect during mourning… I’ll just cry in the middle of it and force it through to finish.
My condolences, mister.
Im not crying, you are!😢
Such a moving moment to the heart of a man to sing a love song for his wife even at the end of life in the time of her funeral. Lord bless such a tribute because it speaks of your love of man and woman til death do them part. Silently sobbing seeing this fleeting moment of emotion for a dearly departed. True indeed for a husband and wife as ordained by God "til death do us part"
I cried while watching this.. it definitely penetrates my heart.
Wow! What a heart warming song. Brought tears to my eyes.
We're all Filipinos and this happened Dec of 2023
Mabuhay❤
Salamat for watching.
I cried myself as well, such a heart felt genuine husband dedicated a song for his wife.Wish True Love exist.
Because i am awaiting for my knight and shining armor.💔❤️🕊️
A song that has a power of a soul that touches the life of this husband to her wife... even in death love will never fade away... ❤😢
Filipinos express their inner feelings tru songs and singing…
We did the same thing. During my aunt's wake. Me, my brother and my cousin (my aunts only kid) he was crying his heart out. Me and my brother continued, my brother playing the guitar, me doing vocals and harmonica.
I cried😢, RIP to his wife may she rest well in heaven while looking after her family still on earth❤❤
Much appreciated his love to her partner the feelings of her partner is so much happy to see her partner sing her at last part to his life😥❤️
Its really heartbreaking to watch him singing for his wife its really sad too all the sadness but his wife now can feel no more pain. Your right music and singing is the best to comfort anyone on the situation like this
It breaks my heart so much 😭😭😭
So sad it’s a beautiful gesture Philippians are known to sing very well and are very emotional people I have many friend from the Philippians it’s so sad my husband is dying and it made me cry so much ❤❤❤❤
My eyes is getting teary, omg! I'm crying
It brought tears to my eyes.......... Love on brother!
Sir could you do also a reaction to a bride composed and wrote a song for their wedding day and she sing while she's walking along the isles for her groom and thanks so much reacting this brave man only just to comport for his own while his wife death in the days of funiral's ❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🙏
I don't even wanna think about it
Not all are that strong to sing through it all the way, we all cope with the death of our loved ones differently…we don’t know how much he had bottled up since he was not there when she passed…from what I read he was a captain of a ship, and he was still at sea when she passed, this was taken the 3rd day of the wake and the same day he also arrived and was given an alone time with her where its just their kids in the room with them when he sang, and some in the comment section said he did cry after this
Common sense! If the husband can't control his emotion while singing. He knows he can't finish his sincere tribute to his loved wife... That's it!
The lyrics of this makes me cry too much painfull.
Such a beautiful voice 😢😢😢
When you’re happy you love the music but when you’re sad you understand the lyrics.😢
He pours out his love and emotions his heart❤
You will sing full of heart out of your lungs even if you're out of tune if the one you cherish is gone.
Your so mean. If you have nothing good to say. Just be quiete okay❤
They said if you sing sincerely, you pray twice.
Beautiful tribute.
I cried over and over again since I saw this video went viral. It’s so hurtful and heartbreaking.
