Yes, you could make holes for the ears. If you are experienced at crochet, it would be a matter of skipping as many stitches as you need at the ear position. You do that by chaining as many stitches as you skip, then continue along. In the next row, you single crochet into the chain stitches as well as all the other stitches in the row.
Wow very simple pattern and easy to understand. My coworker has a little dog in northern Canada and needs a rounded hat to keep warm and this is perfect
Hello! I am going to make this hat and the chunky doggie coat. We live in Minnesota and my "Precious Mimi" will need these accessories! I love your channel! I made the slippers and they came out perfect. I liked the one pattern that is not the square. You are wonderful for sharing all of your knowledge and skills! I have benefited greatly!
Yes, you chain 1 and turn to begin the next row. Always in crochet, when you turn to do another row, you chain 1 if making single crochet stitches, chain 2 if making double crochet stitches.
Hi Sanjurodog... your comment has been flagged as spam.... I don't know who did that??? I try to comment on everyone... but lol,... sometimes in my haste, I forget to click "post". Sorry, if you had a question, please ask again, I promise, I will answer you. It certainly was not intentional!
Oh this is great for dog lovers like me!! Hey Emi, do you know an easy way to crochet the boot socks that are popular right now? They're basically leg warmers worn under boots.
Thank you for sharing.. My cousin lives in a different state than me..She wants me to make a hat for her fur baby..he's a Medium Shitzue..i would like to know how many chains i would start with.? And what size of a hook I'm thinking of using a variegated yarn Red Heart soft Ty
Hi i love this, im new to crcheting and im tring to make this...somehow my sides arent coming out right...after i do the two sc rows i ch 1 turn skip the first stitch then sc when i get to other end, i skip the second to last one do i chain one after i make the last stitch? You went of camera for that...could you please do it all on camera, witha close up ...thanks
I love this! And it's so quick! I'm going to make some for my doggie now. Thank you! Do you possibly have a pattern for a snow suit as well? My pup is so small she needs something to cover her legs and I would to have a matching outfit on her :-)
Oh, and I couldn't answer, your comment had been removed, so I couldn't see it when you posted it.... it said removed by author... now it says spam.... I didn't mark them as that.
Yes I have been looking for a cute doggie hat pattern with the ear holes. Dunno of my dog will like her ears covered like that because she has really long ears :P
Hi emi thanks for all your time and energy love all your videos quick and easy ;) your yarn doesn't look fuzzy what do you use for example on this one ?
+Marilyn Fairless Yes, after working 5 or 6 rows, simply work a bit of the way across the row, chain 5 - 10 stitches, skip the same number of stitches on the work, which will leave an opening, then crochet across the row, and do the same thing on the other side for the opening for the other ear, ... after that, single crochet in every stitch of every row, and you should have openings for the ears. Hope that helps! Emi
Thank you . Sorry it took me so long to respond back. You are so very talented. I appreciate the time and effort you put into all these videos. You help many. :D
Sure... you could start with 10 stitches, then increase to 20 or 30, knit as long as it needs to be to reach around the head, then decrease back down to 10 stitches and then cast off.

ravenbloodommo Damn calm down. This could also be for cats, all you need to do is customize it to your own liking/fitting. Hell you can even make the same thing for pigs.
Why would you put a hat on a dog. His ears are like a radar and need to listen for what ever comes up behind him and every which way, but it's a cool hat
I know it's not a beanie, but equally cute,... and stays on better. Emi
Okay Emi I'm going to make one for Sadie to match her coat - too cute!! You make everything seem so easy. Thank you!

Do you happen to have a written pattern for the dog hat with openings for both ears?

Where I live it gets very, very, cold in winter... sometimes dog's ears can freeze on the tips.
